- About Dr. Mary Claire Haver and The Galveston Diet -
Dr. Mary Claire Haver is a passionate women’s health advocate who believes women in midlife deserve to live their best life. She cuts through fat-shaming and fads, so women are empowered with the science behind anti-inflammation nutrition.
Dr. Mary Claire Haver is a wife, mom, physician, and entrepreneur who has devoted her adult life to women’s health. As a Board-Certified OBGYN in the Houston area, Dr. Haver has delivered thousands of babies, completed thousands of well-woman exams, counseled patients, taught residents, and did everything an academic professor and OBGYN could do.
As her patient population aged, Dr. Haver was overwhelmed with the number of complaints and concerns her patients had with weight gain while going through menopause. For years, she told her patients to eat less and exercise more. It wasn't until she experienced the changes of menopause and mid-life weight gain that she realized this advice doesn't work and ultimately led to her creating and developing a new program, The Galveston Diet.
The Galveston Diet is the first and only nutrition program created by a Female OBGYN, designed for women in menopause. The Galveston Diet helps women reach their health and wellness goals through an anti-inflammatory approach to nutrition. Dr. Haver believes in food's power to combat inflammation and highly recommends the unlimited benefits of intermittent fasting. As part of her ongoing research, she became certified in Culinary Medicine in 2019, specializing in medical nutrition.

Have been doing intermittent fasting since Jan 5th and feel great! Have also been using carb manager, keeping my Macros fairly close to what you suggest, cross training 3-4x/week and have lost about 7 lbs. I’ve tried one of the recipes on your program, so delicious! Even my husband is coming onboard! Thanks!

I work as a chef, in a mental health residency . There are at least, 6 female staff, all late 50s, all brain fog, all perplexed and suffering and held to ransom by our fluctuating hormones and reducing estrogen. This diet is going to be life changing. I can't wait to share. 🎉 thank you Ma'am. From New Zealand 🇳🇿 ❤

Thank you!!! This information is rocking my world. Just started today with IF... which for me meant drinking my coffee black instead of with my beloved half and half 😆

Thanks for sharing. Great informative advice! I am definitely a believer in fasting. I do 18:6 intermittent fasting daily with keto. I have two well balanced meals daily over six hours. No snacks in between. I will do prolong fast (3 days) several times throughout the year for therapeutic purposes. I avoid fruit (except berries), starches, grains, sugar, soy, refined carbs, GMO's and processed foods. I currently have a daily regimen of two workouts during this COVID-19 stay at home era. I go for a bike ride early in the morning and I do a crossfit bodyweight routine in the evening indoors. I keep it simple so I do not have to over think it. Cheers!

IF is good for our health in general and gives clarity of thinking but my breakthrough came in reducing anxious thinking with HeartMath coherence techniques I use to manage ASD. Anxious and stressed overthinking causes increased inflammation and adrenalin levels which offset other hormones and make us crave carbs too. So use the IF but practice new thinking too and you do yourself a favor. I already started losing weight without dieting yet.

We have 5 physical senses ( sight, hearing, taste , touch and smell) and 1 extra visionary or perceptive sense called 6th sense. We are aware that if some senses are not in use then others are elevated. It stands to reason then that if 5 physical senses are not in use the 6th sense is elevated. This is reason why people doing spiritual fasting are prone to seeing dreams and visions. In eating we use all of our senses, without being aware , so when we fast we will have clarity of vision and perception. Brain fog lifts. We tend to think positively and see solutions more clearly. The other activity that can use 5 senses is sex so abstinence can elevate 6th sense as well. This aspect of heightened mental clarity in IF could be due to 6th sense elevation. An unexpected benefit.
