INHERITANCE
Question:
Under Islamic law, why is a woman's share of the inherited wealth only half that of a man?
Answer:
The Glorious Qur'an contains specific and detailed guidance regarding the division of the inherited wealth, among the rightful beneficiaries.
The Qur'anic verses that contain guidance regarding inheritance are:
* Surah Al Baqarah, Chapter 2 Verse 180
* Surah Al Baqarah, Chapter 2 Verse 240
* Surah An Nisa', Chapter 4 Verse 7-9
* Surah An Nisa', Chapter 4 Verse 19
* Surah An Nisa', Chapter 4 Verse 33 and
* Surah Al Ma'idah, Chapter 5 Verses 106-108
There are three verses in the Qur'an that broadly describe the share of close relatives i.e. Surah An Nisa' Chapter 4 Verses 11, 12 and 176. The translation of these verses are as follows:
"Allah (thus) directs you as regards your children's (inheritance): to the male, a portion equal to that of two females: if only daughters, two or more, their share is two-thirds of the inheritance; If only one, her share is a half. For parents, a sixth share of the inheritance to each, if the deceased left children; If no children, and the parents are the (only) heirs, the mother has a third; if the deceased left brothers (or sisters) the mother has a sixth. (The distribution in all cases is) after the payment of legacies and debts. Ye know not whether your parents or your children are nearest to you in benefit. These are settled portions ordained by Allah; and Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise........to be continued

I think it was far more honest if they get the same amount or more so they are not dependent of their brothers or father. Or maybe when mother dies all inheritance goes to the daughters. It was already split to one third when she got it. Or make testaments you can give everything to one particular person. Not relatives it’s better.

In this day and age you don't have to be dependent on a man..if you do get married you don't have to contribute to the financial costs that come up in a marriage.

your title is wrong . a woman's share of the inherited wealth is EQUAL to the man's share as the Quran stated clearly . " The male shall have the equal of the portion of two females; ( as exactly as each female gets ) then if they are more than two females, they shall have two-thirds of what the deceased has left, and if there is one ( as in one male and one female ) , she shall have the half " .

If all Muslims around the world, follow Islam correctly and follow it as it has been portrayed by our prophet Muhammad peace be upon Him, and follow Islam as the Quran has stated, only then will we all completely understand. Women are honored, respected, dignified in Islam. Islam does not want to burden the women with something she doesn't need to do, if a man has been created for financing women this is how it should be. A woman is not a slave to any man, woman, or any being besides Allah, in fact, even a man is not a slave to anyone except Allah. As Muslims, we must be pleased with what Allah has created. And what if the man is greedy gross only thinks about himself doesn't support his own daughters n wife while have everything a person could wish for so what you gonna say for such a man plz answer then my father is a shitty man he never supported me financialy what should i do with my father

@@merubscorner43 Sister one of the things u can do is be patient and steady. Indeed, ur father will have a soft corner for his family in his heart inshaAllah. You should try to talk to him and ask him that why is he hesitant in financing you. Also, this is my advise and please do refer to a sheikh or religious Islamic scholar for further details and help on this crucial matter as my knowledge is not that vast. JazakAllah khair

Ok so a women will always beg a men to provide her food shelter What if they r selfish treat her like a slave because she depends on them Other case is after a divorce a man can easily find a young girl to marry with him but lets be honest who will marry a divorcee women unless she has wealth

Yes you can ask for your inheritance from your grandparents, so your fathers share if he was alive.

Well I as a Muslim think all are equal and everyone deserves equal distribution of wealth whatsoever the reason is.I don't say sharai law as nauzbillah wrong it's also right and transparent, but my opinion about property distribution is that there is no harm in distributing it equally

We must accept God's will before our own. I believe dividing half of the property with our sister can be offset by providing them with Meher during the nikah ceremony. What do u think?

Kaha jata hai k aurat ko adha hissa nahi milta kiu k use apne Walden ki virasat ka r apne shohar ki virasat ka dono taraf se hissa milta hai r ek mard ko sirf uske Walden ki virasat ka hissa milta hai isliye aisa rule hai lekin aaj kal k zamane main dekha jaye to ek mard ko uske nikah main ladki k Walden ki taraf se bhi paise property milti hai r uske apne Walden ki virasat ka hissa bhi milta hai,,,

Agar baap na ho hayat me achanak... Beto ke farz se shaadi se adah ho gaye hai..Aur beti ki farz reh gaya ho(shaadi na hue ho.). Aur maa hai hayat me...aur maa ke naam kuch na ho..sirf baap ke naam ho saari property.. To property kaise takseem ho gi plz bataye...bete apna haq mang rahe ho to.. Beti ka haq aur bete haq kya hoga.. Pls solution kya hoga sariyat se..
