As a true Mumbaikar, I always thought Mumbai MMR is best in terms of Infrastructure. But then I moved to Delhi NCR for work. The latter is far superior in terms of Public Infrastructure, Road Connectivity and City design.

Delhi has that newness to it. Mostly cuz it was developed n modernised later on. Bombay experienced that much before especially with the skyscrapers. That’s why the difference. Also Delhi has almost limitless budget from the central govt for maintenance while Bombay misses that.

I have been to Bangalore and Mumbai both. I still feel NCR region is far better than both of these cities. The infrastructure is just superior than both of the cities. NCR is very very beautiful and livable

The difference is Mumbai MMR is focused on development in Mumbai city only and Delhi develops its nearby cities too.Politicians only focus on people living in Mumbai city rather than suburbs because money attracts politicians rather than developing other areas . NCR is far better than MMR. People in Mumbai City who are rich want only Mumbai city to develop rather than suburbs because they look down to people living in the outskirts are unworthy and politicians too see them as slaves . its a harsh wording but its true , politicians see the people in MMR as poor entities who work for them and what's the point of developing there if it's never gonna make them money, ofc they will develop South Mumbai because they pay more money.

things have changed, mmr has realized that mumbai is completely surrounded by the sea, so more development will be done in navi mumbai, thane, kalyan, dombivali and raigad. prime examples are navi mumbai international airport, mthl (sea bridge from mumbai to navi mumbai) sez industrial hub near navi mumbai airport, new mumbai goa express way ( starts from uran), navi mumbai metro, developed residential colonies in dombivali and kalyan, naina city and metro line 4 ( kasarvadavli, thane to wadala, mumbai)

Delhi NCR started behind Mumbai, but clearly overtook it. Not only the development but the class and quality of development in Delhi NCR is superior to MMR. Corruption in Mumbai for many decades, really hurt the city IMO.

The public transport of Mumbai is a joke , the roads are always jammed and the satellite cities aren't even cities. The only thing mumbai has are skyscrapers which are built by the private entities. While the govt in Delhi have spent a heavy Amount of funds on its metro and road infrastructure.

Places like dwarka few neighbourhoods of west Delhi like rohini pitampura, Punjabi bagh ,rani bagh and whole South Delhi is beautiful atleast quality of living in delhi for middle and upper middle class is better in delhi compare to Mumbai as by investing same amount of money which one would spend in Mumbai one can get better place to live in Delhi with open parks and parking space too .

biggest difference is competition, in Delhi NCR 3 states are competing lie each other, there is cut throat competition among them, whereas Mumbai is in 1 state that's why no competition and Mumbai city takes priority. By 3 states I meant UP, HR & RJ

To be honest Mumbai is beyond overwhelmed. Kind of gone case. Mumbai should start with limiting migration. Because any project in Mumbai is a small drop in the ocean. Also lots of people living in Mumbai take everything from Mumbai, but don't give anything back to Mumbai. If they start keeping the Mumbai clean(on their personal capacity) it will be different story.

The basic think people should understand that is Mumbai is Island City so there is no place for horizontal spread as it was for Delhi ncr region. So planing for ncr was much more easy and less expensive and obviously this region got huge funding from Central govt and other states govt also. While in case of Mumbai and mmr connectivity was huge issue and creating connectivity between different regions was very expensive. So area which have direct connection like thane are developed much more than other region which are not connected due to khadi( sea water ) but as connectivity will increase these region will see more growth in future.

Mumbai is the hardest city in India to develop because of its landscape and high population density. Delhi can expand as much as it can, and thus has a lot more room to develop infrastructure and settlements.

I think the quality of farmland towards the south is below to that of in North. We have to keep in mind that every piece of settlement in North India will be built in farmland. Another take on this is that:- The three state junction which will allow for better transportation and access to the country. Another take:- The cities to the south grabbed it first, faridabad the OG industrial hub of Haryana since 1960s, gurugram the private City since 1980s. One more thing, the northern part is relatively cooler than the southern NCR😮(yes you read it right even a few kms here give drastic drops in temperature), The northern part of Delhi is occupied by muslims.

And don't excuse with migration Delhi have literally less than 20% local population out of 25 million , Even in whole NCR population are around maybe 50 Million but locals are not more than 35-40% . + in GDP per capita also Haryana , Delhi , UK , HP , CR are in better condition than MH.

Mumbai has way too many slums and overcrowding. Delhi NCR is known for so great tourist attractions and Mumbai's #1 international tourist attraction outside of Gateway to India is Dharavi. It's a sad but true commentary. Mafia, underworld and corruption ruined Mumbai.

@@akshay_wakodikar Late 1970's to 2000's overbuilding is an underworld legacy. Many of those hideous properties are still standing and cost too much to demolish. Mumbai property prices have to fall for them to be bought out and redone. Seems difficult to do. Mumbai desperately needs the Shanghai treatment. Demolish demolish demolish.

You cant deny the fact that Delhi NCR has a much more better living standards than Mumbai. Bigger houses you can get 3 BhK for 1cr , better roads where you can actually drive, Metro system is widespread with AC not Like Mumbai Local which lacks a lot of stuff. The only thing Mumbai has is Skyscrapers which is again Noida and Gurgaon are developing fast . So stop gloryfying Mumbai , its a dying city it will be under water in some decades. We all know that . Those 50 cr flats in worli will sell for 5 lakhs in 30 years 😂 because underwater view is less worth it.

FYI do check out how much central govt gives back to us compare to how much they are pouring money into ur states I would say north's development is financed by Maharashtra and southern state. Talking abt skyscrapers in Noida and gurgaon which are still under construction for 10+ years no where near to beat us. I am not saying who is superior here, seeing such a nice development in delhi and other regions is obv creating healthy competition among our Indian cities.

Western UP, tourism in J&K UK HP, the marble industry of eastern Rajasthan, and not to forget the labourers who are building the infrastructure. (Regulations at construction sites are being implemented more day by day, no operator without a valid license is allowed to be hired now strictly)

People think that NCR is developed only cuz it’s national capital but that’s really not true, Mumbai has higher municipal budget and in size also Mumbai is just half of Delhi BUT STILL the later is way more cleaner and efficient. If 3 State govts + center can coordinate better than a single Maharashtra govt than people need to think what’s going wrong. Not to mention Mumbai is heavily controlled by elites while Delhi is more controlled by common middle class voters.. even the smallest issues in Mumbai fill the twitter with protests from elite south Bombay people while the same doesn’t happen in Delhi. The whole Arey metro is issue is one example of such.
