Hi there. Although no expert, I have some knowledge of audio production and also have a 55 C6US with the harman/kardon sound bar built in. The sound from it is far superior to any typical built-in TV speakers. The top end is clear and crisp and the mids are defined nicely. There is a noticeable quality to the sound although it is hard for any non-subwoofer equipped sound bar to fill in the bottom end. That's not to say there is no bass present, it is actually pretty good considering the delivery system. Speaking of the delivery system, the bar does well to spread surround effects about you. Movie-watching just got good again!! There are sound mode settings and I found a nice boost available from switching to music mode for some Zappa Plays Zappa :) There are more modes available including a 'personal' custom mode but no EQ that I could find. As the TV is in my room (hehe... 55" 4K monitor anyone?) I don't use a high volume level but have tested it and found it not wanting in that department. Clarity was not lost at mid-level (that was plenty loud enough!) I couldn't vouch for it at closer to full volume tho not having been there with it. If you're sitting on the fence about buying a TCL - if it has an h/k sound bar, Wide-Color-Gamut and HDR, I'm confident you will not be disappointed! :)

I have one that's 7 years old now and still has no dead pixels. The speakers are weak and it's got fat bezels and a thick screen, but it looks and works great. I got a new TV a couple years ago and turned the TCL into my computer monitor with no issues.

The only problem I have is the speakers could be better (but are damn good plus I have a separate system) and I lost the remote and occasionally the volume button (which is completely separate) will function as an input which is only slightly annoying since input is one way so I have to do a full cycle to get back to what I want. That's my ONLY complaint of a $150 40' flat screen from like 2014 🤷🏾‍♀️❤️

I was just about to ask about the response time! Why tf wouldn't Linus mention this?! Response time and input lag are one in the same, right? The 2018 version seems like it would be an excellent PC monitor. I mean why not? I've got a 65 inch Sony XBR850D which I purchased Feb 2017 for like $1500. I seriously doubt my Sony is $1000 better than this TV.

Using as Hisense-h65m7000 myself was using an older 46in from 2008... going big is great and when you go to other people places and have to use there tiny 21 to ultra wides.. it gets annoying.

I'm sorry -- I was unclear. I meant the TV has the Roku software built-in, so you can use Netflix, Amazon Prime, Vudu, etc., without needing a separate box for streaming. It's all built in. You could connect a PC to it via one of the HDMI inputs, I suppose, if you wanted to. But there's no way to stream your PC's video signal wirelessly to it.

if you want to play more video formats with your windows media player, simply download the vlc player for free. it has all the codecs you could ever want. just google it.

If looking for VHS players go to an auction near you. go to auctionzip.com and put in zipcode and calendar comes up with auctions near you and what date. You can usually get 1-3 of them for $1-5 total and some with remotes. If not remote Wallyworld sells them for under $10. If it goes bad look for another one. At $1-2 apiece you will eventually find one that might last as long as that tv has.

I also have been using TV for my gaming PC. There should be some input lag, but I don't perceived them. 43" for racing games and PUBG is more than enough than buying PC monitor 27" for the same price
