Why Is God of War a MASTERPIECE?!

Жыл бұрынIn this video essay/ Retrospective, I re-play the classic original God of War game that came out in 2005 on the PS2. I am emulating the PS3 version with upscaled graphics. I'll be sharing with you why I think God of War 1 is still worth your time in 2023. Was it any good? Does it still hold up after all these years? Why is it a masterpiece?
Since its release over 20 years ago, God of War 1 has continued to be one of the most popular games out there. And for good reason- the gameplay, graphics and story are all top-notch. So in this video, I'm taking a retrospective look at God of War 1 and highlighting all the reasons why it's still worth your time in 2023.
It was such a success and went on to see many sequels, including God of War 2, God of War 3, Chains of Olympus, Ghost of Sparta, Ascension as well as the Nordic reboot in 2018 and its sequel God of War Ragnarok, which is an absolute masterpiece

Uncharted, Fallen Order, Final Fantasy, and now God of War? You’ve got some great taste, man. I also think it was smart to break up the FF videos with something else-makes it clear to people that you’re not running an FF-only channel, which I think should help prevent you from ending up with a bunch of dead subscribers. If I could offer one criticism, I would love for you to bring back the spreadsheet at the end of your videos. It really helps to put the current game in perspective, plus it’s just fun to see how things stack up on your personal rating scale!

Thanks I appreciate the feedback! Yeah they are some great games for sure. I definitely don’t want it to be a FF-only channel, more of just older games in general, although FF16 has been taking up all my time for now
