I believe Max is being framed for Safi's murder, and to clear her name, she needs to discover who is trying to kill Safi in the other timeline, so she can prove her innocence in her timeline.

Someone had a theory that the killer may be another person with powers or may be max herself- a version of her corrupted by the frequent use of her powers. That sounds wild, but you never know. It could be spot on, but it may be way off too. And would that kind of twist be widely accepted if it happened to be the mystery behind safi's death?

Without sounding macabre, the way they explore Max’s trauma is what I’m most looking forward to in this game, because it’s always fascinated me how respectively a Max who allowed a whole town to die and a Max who allowed her best friend/girlfriend to die would go on living with the consequences of each. Because while survivors guilt would absolutely be a thing in both scenarios, the Max who saved Chloe, I can imagine would have a “well I didn’t ask for these powers” mentality (perhaps enforced by Chloe throughout the years) and therefor would maybe be a little bit less reserved when it came to using her powers to save Safi than the Max that felt the many outweighed the few (even when it was someone she loved) It may be naive, but I really hope they are somewhat able to explore both Max’s (for the replayability alone) So excited for this game, and so excited to have found your channel! While the LiS1 theories did get a bit wild back in the day, it was part of what made talking about it and playing it so exciting

I'm hoping Max uses her power as a Photo Focus because she's trying to save the planet from an asteroid strike that happened. And that the two realities is just a cosnequence of Max's atrophied power failing to truly replace the one reality with a new one via Photo Focus. We'll control what would usually be "Autopilot Max", able to see both worlds. Not sure how Safi ties into this asteroid theory though. But yeah [even in my theory] from Autopilot Max's perspective she still thinks she created the new reality to try to save Safi, and she would still see traveling between realities as using her power somehow. So, some kind of hesitation for her continuing to go between realities when she has control over it would be good. And that she doesn't just do it to be able to eat both pancakes and waffles. ;)

Life is strange 2 was my favourite but can't wait to play this game

You are wishing to much the issue you don't see is 2 Things. 1, This is Deck Nine Games working for Square Enix. & 2, Square Enix will want this as Close to Life is Strange 1 as they can get (They will not except what you wish for at all) I want Max to Learn from her mistakes $50 Million in sells said she going to act like this is a Toy. This is Life is Strange 1 Retold saying it is anything else or wishing it was anything else and your not getting it. Stop Hyping this Game up to impossible means because if it get Hype so out of Control The only thing is How Far it can fall. But please don't stop to think what Happened to Tango Game works can Happen to Deck Nine Games if things are not to Perfectly in line to what everyone wants Chloe & Rachel in Life is Strange Double Exposure. do I see a lot of people refunding the Game Yes I do.
