It's not only the car, the early braking and the early throttle, it is also the different way in which Max is cutting the corners. Peter Windsor had an item on that some weeks ago.

That was truly baffling after Belgium, I saw so many comments proclaiming that the reason why Max was a second faster in sector 2 (where half the corners of the entire track is) was because of the Red Bull straight speed. They are so eager to jump on anything to not admit Max skill that they don't even bother doing a rudimentary check if their argument holds any water.

Peter Windsor said Max’ short cornering is almost imperceptible on tele and that it’s constantly about controlling the load bearing at turn-in..meaning you can see telemetry of when he’s on the brakes earlier or throttle faster but to be able to turn-in like he does is down to feeling - something Peter suggests is probably happening subconsciously for Max at this point and not easily taught to others cus anyone could try his short cornering and brake/throttle inputs but you have to have an almost psychic level for grip-feeling for it to work else you’d be in a spin or the barriers or maybe you’d be able to keep up with Max for a couple laps but cus of the *way he balances the load you’d burn thru your tires way before him. check out his videos - has to be the most eye opening insight into what makes him so fast

DRS does help a lot during the sunday race, Max get additional 34kph with DRS + slipstream. downforce has to also involve grip, better grip gives early acceleration when exiting corner, straight line speed comes from how fast is your 100kmh - 300kmh and how earlier can it be.

Well, we know now the RB’s were the slowest just after AR/R (the speed trap just after the corners) due to lifting to avoid the floor touching to hard on the lowest point. In S2 they made the killing strike. The speeds were about 309 for RB, and 323 for Mercedes. Still all other teams couldn’t match RB on the lap. Also the speed difference after the speed trap in S1 was getting very low due to the aero after the lift in AR/R. So they did catch up after the speed trap.

If you're one of those people who thinks Max has a faster car compared to Perez then here's a fewthings to consider: The gap between both RB drivers is considerable and often highlighted. But there are gaps between other teammates aswell. In fact the gap between Alonso and Stroll is bigger compared to the one between Max and Checo. Now it wouldn't make sense at all that AM would secretly make the owners son's car slower than Alonso's (talk about building a car around a driver, this whole team literally exists because of one guy). Such a large gap, especially between these two drivers shows that almost certainly the driver can make a really big difference. Every part, every detail and... yeah basically all things that can move, bend or makes a sound is documented. Now these files are not publicly available for obvious reasons but the race authorities do get them. So if it isn't clear already, this means that in order to make one car somehow much faster than the other it would immediately show up in these documents. But couldn't they be a bit creative and make it so that only on paper it would seem that both cars are equal? Yes but thats realy really unlikely as it would mean that the team is so incredibly committed to this scam that they are willing to cheat to make themselves slower. I mean, what more is there to say... How many people are working on these two cars and how many would have to be aware of such a conspiracy without a single whistleblower speaking out about it or even some leaked documents apppearing for once. Also in Belgium, where was Max faster compared to Checo? In the technical part of the track but not the straights. So how do you explain that if the cars are not equal? The engine sure seems to be and any downforce related differences are mostly visible from the outside since thats a physical aspect of the car. So if its not that then it must be something thats within the car itself but how would we explain that given the document that list the components? Now all of what I wrote seems to leave absolutely no room for any reasonable suggestion that the cars are not the same. Plus theres zero evidence that supports such a claim so therefore its reasonable to assume these two cars are equal. Except for one thing ofcourse and that is the driver because that alone makes by far the most sense. Happens at AT and AM, Williams... And yes also RB because why would it not?
