Steve you are the best! Your methodical approach to diagnosing problems is second to none! I’ve solved many problems under the direction of Steve in KZfaq videos. Amazing!!!!

Good video, but missed the simplest of causes. Loose screws on the inside of the door.

Thank you so much for the video. I have diagnosed my issue to be the pump. I removed the motor and checked for any kinks or warn out pieces and found none. When i reconnect everything, the leak continues but it keeps leaking out of the motor itself. PLEASE HELP! i am not sure if i have to replace the entire pump/motor or just need to keep fishing for the problem. Its a 10 yr old Frigidaire Gallery Dishwasher - i saw your other video about the common issues and you nailed my problem. Just cant figure out how to fix it or what to replace before i spend more $ than a new dishwasher. thanks again for your hard work

Could you elaborate on the float switch assembly please? @ 3:20 "If you verify that the float rises and lowers without any restrictions, you may have a defective float switch..." and @ 3:39 "If the float does not move freely, you'll need to replace the complete float assembly..." So should the float assembly move freely (i.e., without any restrictions) or not?

@@joelsch8627 I think the idea here is that the water filling the tub makes the plastic portion float upward until the switch is tripped, shutting off the water at a specific water level. If the thing can't rise freely, the switch will never get tripped, and the water won't get turned off. So yes, it should be able to move upward without obstructions. When I push mine upward, I can actually hear the switch being pressed.

@@jshariff786 i just checked again and my plastic round piece is loosse and just slides up freely til it reaches the stop. i do not hear, nor able to feel any kind of a switch being pressed.. hmmm

My whirlpool dishwasher leaks at lower right corner and at float after DW running for about half hour. I changed the float switch but DW still leak. At this moment I put two chopping boards between the door and lower rack, the leaking stops for now. I am going to bring GoPro to check. My assumption is the lower spray arm or lower seal might be not good. How do you think?
