Has your trail camera ever stopped working for no apparent reason? Today I talk about my trail camera that had quit working on me and the simple fix i used to get it working again.
I had 2 trail cameras that quit working on me just weeks apart. They were both acting strange and only taking a few pictures and shutting off. The camera was reading the batteries were dead, but this did not make since to me as the batteries were only in the camera for a couple weeks.
I decided to take a closer look at the 2nd camera as I had already threw the first camera away.
Upon inspection I noticed the camera had a blueish, whitish powdery build up along the connections where the batteries make there connection.
I did a little research and found out that distilled white vinegar will remove corrosion from battery connections.
I applied the distilled white vinegar with Q-Tips to the metal connectors and it removed it very easily. I dried the areas the best I could and then let it air dry about 2 hours.
I put energizer ultimate lithium batteries into the camera and it worked.
I tested the camera for a couple hours in the house and it worked very well.
I can't wait to get this camera back in the woods.
i hope this simple trick helps others that may be having this same problem.
