Seen each episode so far and loving the podcast. Also, and it doesn’t have to be ranked, but I 100% love the idea of having someone or a couple people playing rocket league and having several others in the call just chilling and having fun. Really brings on the bantering 🔥 😂

love this podcast! only complaint is you should EQ everyone's mic audio in post cause everyone has different volumes going on. some are super loud and others are quiet.

It'd be kinda hard in post considering this was a stream (I think). Volume leveling would be a good idea though, I assume they're in discord so it'd have to be done there by rizzo. Also fyi eq is a different thing than what you described, it's like boosting or attenuating certain frequencies rather than the whole

@@clarkthesong i def don't know how to adjust individual mics without the mics being separate. But perhaps throwing on a multi-band compressor/limiter could help (no idea, I've never done any audio shit with spoken word lol). I'd guess certain spikes are coming from certain frequencies (prolly from certain mics). I'd think shit gets much harder when they're talking at the same time, but at least for solo speakes, I feel like that'd help. Hell, wouldn't even have to be multi-band to keep audio at a more consistent level at least

@@JohnJillky yeah I don’t think you need a multi band compressor. If it’s certain frequencies that are spiking like you’re saying, it’s probably the high frequencies from “s” sounds, in which case a de-esser is a good idea. If it’s just overall volumes of everyone’s audio that’s varying, I don’t know that I’d use a compressor, unless you can put it on everyone’s audio individually. I think it’s just a thing where sometimes KZfaqrs have their mic too low, everyone does it. Either way this is probably a bit too deep for a casual podcast thing like this so xD

Picking which side you respawn on after a demo in definitely an interesting idea, I know each time I get demo'd I am trying to split my brain in half trying to figure out what the best play is if I spawn on either side and trying to decide if I should pre turn and pray I get the right side

Fixing demos is as simple as removing "death"/respawn from the code entirely. Bumps would still be a super effective strategy, and hitting another car at supersonic would simply launch them further out of the play. It would make recovery mechanics all the more important. Dying and respawning is the only thing in the game that's not physics-based, which is ultimately the reason it's so frustrating.

I've been saying this for like a year now we need to increase the pitch size with how fast people are now. It would lead to more mechanical showings and a better gamellay overall without nerfing demos completely. The pros and players will adjust as they always have. Can do some limited time modes with a giant pitch and more players could be fun as well.

there’s nothing wrong with the demos. I haven’t watched all 3 hours of this, so I don’t know if they agree with this, but either way this is a bad take. I really appreciate the fast paced gameplay in the higher levels and I think it’s way more exciting than mechanics (although mechanics are still on full display in the higher levels). also I don’t think it would promote mechanics it would promote a new game sense that would look alot like football where the players would pass between each other and calculate distance from the opponents.

I agree there will be more passing with more space and therfor will speed up gameplay instead of promoting so many 50s like there are now. I think your failing to see that there are multiple advantages to this. I am a support player who demos more often than most and still I think the game would benefit to say a 15-25% pitch increase. Longer shots, passes, rotations will actually speed up gameplay in terms of distance covered.

@@onedayatatime007 more passing means slower paced. they will slowly pass between each other making the other team burn up boost. compared to current, where it’s a game of numbers and who can get to the ball faster and requires either creativity or out pacing the other team. although, in my head the pitch would be a bit bigger then 15-25% I was imagining a playstyle like football where it’s mostly decision making and awareness. I don’t see what a 15-25% increase would do except maybe slow down the game a little. do the goals increase in size?

53:10 this is why some pros (like the whole NRG team) hate the demo meta. They put in thousands and thousands of hours practicing advanced mechanics to be beaten by a team that's inferior to them in every way except for the fact that they successfully utilize the extremely simple demo mechanic. That's why they call it "broken" because one of the simplest mechanics is the solution to overcoming the most mechanically advanced/positionally smart teams. Regardless though, demos are here to stay, so NA (particularly NRG) should just accept it and become that much more dominant at the game. No use in complaining about them.

There is no 'demo meta', there is just evolution of the way the game is played. The teams that realised you can just challenge or demo a player busy setting up their midfield-airdribble-double tap-wavedash-sidewall flipperoni pizza to swat them out of the sky like flies before they pose a threat are the ones continually improving and breaching the ceiling of the game.

@@Amplified28 NRG have been part of the demo strat before. V1 won fair and square. I'm an NRG fan but v1 earned their win. They used a good strategy and stuck with it
