In this February 13, 2024, Lifestyle as Medicine Lecture, Dr. T. Colin Campbell explains that nutrition, properly understood, is not taught in medical schools because its science basis is opposite that of the medical system. This nutritional effect is capable of both preventing and treating most of the troublesome diseases we suffer, the chronic degenerative diseases. As a result, health care costs, the highest in the world, would be dramatically decreased. Simultaneously, we would be addressing the #1 cause of environmental problems. This nutrition is accomplished by consuming a variety of plant based foods in a way that all of their nutrients are simultaneously available during digestion and metabolism.
Learn from the father of whole food, plant-based nutrition, who introduced the phrase "Whole Food, Plant-Based."

Dr t Colin Campbell is 90 years old. Dr Caldwell esselstyn is also 90 and alive and well. They are both prominent supporters of plant-based diet. Can anybody show me the carnivore or keto diet guys that that are in their '90s and doing well?

WOW I have been saying - It's about what we are feeding Babies causing Cancer in Babies. I became a Type 1 Diabetic at the age of 66. I blame in on all the processed-chemical laden foods I was raised on after the first Swason Dinner came out. I had a Food Allergy test done. Found out it was Casein causing Inflammation in my stomach. I could go on and on about my Diabetic Journey - I won't. So happy to see this Video. Thank you. Best words I ever heard... RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH.

DID YOU HAPPEN TO SEE THAT ALMOST ALL THE POPULAR BRANDS OF BABY FOOD WERE DISCOVERED TO HAVE ARSENIC AND OTHER SUNDRY INGREDIENTS IN THEM (BACK ABOUT A YEAR AGO)

Read Dr Campbell's books for complete information and all the citations of the supporting science. Follow the money for why this information is suppressed. There is no profit in people eating WFPB.

Great presentation, as always! Here’s a question…is there an institute such as RLMI, but that uses opposite dietary/nutritional interventions, say a Rochester Carnivore Diet Medicine Institute? You know, a real place with real doctors with real patients taking insurance and getting real results? I can’t seem to find one. I wonder why that is. Or maybe I’m wrong.

Because many in the field of nutrition would have you believe we are herbivores and eat like one...we are not. Ruminant animals, such as cattle, sheep, and goats, have a unique digestive system that allows them to extract nutrients from tough plant material. Their stomachs are divided into four compartments: the rumen, reticulum, omasum, and abomasum. The pH levels in these compartments vary significantly compared to the human stomach. 1. Rumen: The rumen is the largest compartment and is essentially a large fermentation chamber. The pH in the rumen typically ranges from 6.0 to 6.8, which is much less acidic than the human stomach. This neutral pH allows the growth of diverse microorganisms that help break down plant material. 2. Reticulum: The reticulum is similar to the rumen in terms of function and pH levels. 3. Omasum: The omasum helps absorb water and nutrients. Its pH is typically around 4.0 to 4.5, which is more acidic than the rumen but still less acidic than the human stomach. 4. Abomasum: The abomasum is the "true stomach" of ruminants and functions similarly to the human stomach. The pH in the abomasum ranges from 1.5 to 2.5, which is comparable to the human stomach's pH of around 1.5 to 3.5. In contrast, the human stomach is a single compartment with a highly acidic environment. The normal pH range of the human stomach is 1.5 to 3.5, with an average pH of 2.0. This acidic environment helps break down food and protects against harmful bacteria. In summary, while the abomasum of ruminants has a similar acidity to the human stomach, the other compartments of the ruminant stomach have a much higher (less acidic) pH compared to humans, which allows for the unique digestive processes necessary for breaking down plant material. The stomach pH of big cats is highly acidic, similar to that of humans and the abomasum of ruminants. The average pH level in the stomach of big cats ranges from 1.5 to 2.5, which is within the same range as the human stomach (pH 1.5 to 3.5) and the abomasum of ruminants (pH 1.5 to 2.5). This highly acidic environment serves several purposes: 1. Breaking down proteins: The low pH denatures proteins and activates pepsin, an enzyme that breaks down proteins into smaller peptides. 2. Killing bacteria: The acidic environment helps kill bacteria and other pathogens that may be present in the ingested meat. 3. Enhancing calcium absorption: The low pH helps ionize calcium, making it more soluble and easier to absorb in the small intestine. It's important to note that while the stomach acid levels are similar among big cats, humans, and the abomasum of ruminants, the overall digestive process and stomach structure differ significantly between these groups. Big cats have a simple, single-chambered stomach adapted to digesting meat, while ruminants have a four-chambered stomach specialized for processing plant material, and humans have a single-chambered stomach adapted to an omnivorous diet.

Intresting info. I think this needs more research , that has cultural influence. I come from a cultural background, that a great percentage of individuals are vegetarian and vegan. Yet there are individuals who succumbed to cancer, lot of them are living with chronic conditions. It’s more about habits, behaviors , access to food, economic conditions , and meal Choices.

No, plant based has less micronutrients it lacks tons of vitamin B which is important for cognitive health. Meat is far better in Vit/minerals

@@autotelicstate33 LOL!!! I mean REALLY mate --> the EVIDENCE clearly shows exactly the OPPOSITE: plants are the ones with MICRO-NUTRIENTS, whereas MEAT hardly has any! Yes vitamin B12 is lacking in a VEGAN diet, but can be made up by SUPPLEMENTS.

@@autotelicstate33 proteins (amino acids) were questioned, not micronutrients. But plants are lacking in quantity and quality of proteins compared to animal products. So much much much more has to be consumed to provide needed building blocks.

Doctors need more nutritional training, but not from the epidemiologists and propagandists. We need hard science before we make hard recommendations.

What are you insinuating by your remarks? That all the data and research that Dr Campbell is presenting here is NOT hard science? Dr Campbell has my utmost respect and gratitude. His research and efforts to get the word out about nutritional studies that directly influence health come head to head against the pharmaceutical industry, and so is NOT the easy path to take. Whole food plant based diet and lifestyle greatly improved my health and those numerous people I shared the info with. You ought to look into it more before you criticize. Do yourself a favor, and your loved ones.
