Tbh, Epic games don't put much effort toward Original battle pass skins nowadays compared to Chapter 1 and early chapter 2. These days it's all about Collaborations. But hey, I ain't complaining (looks at my locker with Spiderman and Optimus Prime) It is what it is.

The new battle stars system with superstyles make it less rewarding and makes it boring

One of my problems is that they put edit styles in the battle pass to take up skins. That is the biggest cash grab. I have literally ever seen like I do not care for an edit style in the battle pass. We need new skins each time.

I love the collaborations fortnite is doing, for example the recent Fallout collab. But I really wish to see some more original and cool looking skins back in the battle passes. But I I’m not gonna lie, this seasons battle pass is pretty promising

I have several problems with the bp: -Secrets skins not being secret and not story related -original skins being lackluster -No progression skins (gave so much more motivation to play) -Collabs as tier 100 (I think there should be no collabs in it at all but thats never gonna happen) - Extending to lvl 150 when the xp is bad - music packs being actual songs instead of extended emotes (it doesnt work as well as background music but I feel like thats only because too many emotes are collabs too lately) -Loading screens being community made, as well as the lack of loading screens showcasing sets (I liked the ones where artists were creative like S10 but nowadays its the always the same artstyle showcasing the character in a certain pose. Its just boring) -no more weekly challenges with a hidden battle star loading screen that explains the story -everything being made for the bp characters ( wraps for example from Ch1 passes were not tied to the bp skins and therefore very universal, but nowadays they are made to look exactly like this one character, what makes them hard to find combos with) The main reason for me to actually buy the bp is for the vbucks so I can buy item shop skins from them without having to put real money in the game. But now since you have to get lvl 150 and the xp in BR is so bad, I will only buy the bp at the end of the season if I hit a high enough lvl.

I'm so tired of this grinding xp or having to afk the whole season is just boring and every cosmetic being exclusive for 1 time at this point and never coming back even with FREE cosmetic that you could get with reboot rally,challenges/quests that are for a litmed time I'm also so tired of the crew packs idc about the cosmetics that much but its just stupid if you wanna get something you have to get it quickly before it's gone I'm happy epic got sued for that too😭

The last really good tier 100 was Menace from the season 5 of the chapter 2, he has a lot of style like drift & calamity, he was the last battle pass skin to do that, it's a really really underrated tier 100

I think the reason why the battle pass isn’t interesting anymore is because every single cosmetic is based on the character/skin of the ‘battle pass page’. For example, I’m not saying there is, but say there was a skin in a battle pass called ‘Death bringer’ and the emoticon or spray or whatever on death bringer’s battle pass page would be called ‘death bringer’s rage’ for example. And back in previous seasons every thing used to be random, not just based on the skin of the battle pass page. If you know what I mean

We gotta get rid of the time sensitive nature of battle passes. We should be able to buy older battle passes and in general not have battle passes expire. It's annoying that you can pay for something and still miss out on getting it.

For what makes the battle pass uninteresting for me is when they quickly use the same themes for some of their orignal characters which have less relevance for the story of fortnite and/or just reused a classic skin and changed the theme of it to waste some space in the battle pass. (Examples: Jules and the The Machinist for the first reason. Brite Bomber and Brite Raider for the second.

I swear everytime i see a skin in a battle pass that i think looks good or decent I kinda force myself to get it in fear of FOMO. Back when I wasn't interested too much in Fortnite but still had the game, I checked the battlepass/season thinking that it looked nice and saw a skin that looked neat to me, Renzo the Destroyer. I didn't play that season, nor did I get the battlepass either. Now months later, I regret not buying that season because now I am nearly obsessed with it liking everything about it, and whenever I see someone with it, I get happy because "ooh its that guy, I love that skin!" but also this awful gut feeling reminding me that I can't get it. The worst part is I'm pretty sure he was the first page so I could have just BROUGHT the damn thing and get the skin, now I feel whomp-whomped because 14yr me thought it wasn't worth it. Could we at least get maybe a different vers of him but in the shop, even if its something like a dumb recolor like they did with toon-meowscles? (thinking of a Halloween skeleton)

Lack of uniqueness (Chapter 2 Season 2 had animated scenes and other easter eggs in it), Bland emotes (No more toys or pets), Always a collab skin, Battle Stars, Skins based off of other skins in the battlepass... the list goes on.

I wish Fortnite did a pass/ season where you can be able to continue a battle pass you owned before (not being able to buy passes from seasons where you didn’t have it) then people would choose a pass where their favorite collabs and or skins they liked but didn’t have time to complete it and then complete it from where they left off, getting their favorite skin.

I think the downfall of battle passes was the arrival of chapter 2, Season X, remixes of old skins too stylish like the knight, the disco girl, DJ llama, drift woman remix and many others, or just all the chapter they made some great tier 1 with unlockable styles like drift, blackheart and many others, arrived chapter 2, Tier 1, a fucking fisherman, I repeat a motherfucking fisherman, the tier 100 was fire asf but the fisherman, I was pissed off, They kinda handle with the season 2 battle pass but broo, a fisherman

in a battlepass we need: -OLD LEVELING SYSTEM -skin with their related missions to unlock stage styles -removing cars or lego stuff from the battlepass (I dont care) -removing collab from battle pass (only if they have a reason from the storyline to be here) -secret skin actually being S E C R E T with a map change + storyline (for gameplay maybe putting that skin as a boss) -keeping superstyles with less grind

I feel like there’s either 2 reasons why the survey skins sometimes aren’t transferred well… Either the devs are lazy, or maybe what they had on the original design didn’t work in game so they had to change them.

Good video I agree but I think they need longer seasons and like at least 6 seasons a chapter because Chapter 1 and Chapter 2’s maps are Iconic and they never really gave us time to get used to them. Longer seasons mean better battle passes. Also Ik it’s random but I am kinda glad that all the battle pass skins now fit the theme where in late Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 there was like 3 themed skins for the season and the others were obviously filler.

And now that fomo won't even matter moving forward after the recent announcement. Seems like they are just going to pull the plug on them when they are ready.

Megalo Don is an amazing original skin. The Brite raiders another reskin bu also looks good on its own(could've been a item shop) the machinist is simple, boring, & underwhelming(she could've had chapter 1 progression skin(like calamity)).

i feel like the reason battle passes for Fortnite in particular aren’t interesting anymore is because they aren’t really fortnite’s style or don’t have something interesting about them - or they’re a collab skin that shouldn’t even be in there (such as magneto, who tf asked for him? He literally looks like a certain male body part he’s so ugly 🤮) Another thing - there aren’t really too many interesting male skins. You may notice - or surely have noticed that the majority of the game is male players that wear female skins. If you ask them why, they likely would say something about how they look good or are attractive. This also could be because most of the male skins are just straight up ugly. Skins like Midas or ikonik are popular because for once they look interesting and aren’t ugly. Lack of interesting mechanics - skins like midas only come around every once in a while. Midas was a hit. i was gonna name a example of a popular character like him but I can’t name any - montague would have been way more interesting if he could turn items to diamond in a similar manner to midas. Nothing to really work for - Cars in Fortnite currently are expensive as they are limited. They’re aren’t very many cars in the game, and they are all pretty expensive even with the price reductions. There was a car in chapter 5 season 1, which still is a very popular choice. They could have put cars in each season, although maybe skip season 2 because that wouldn’t really make sense. Chapter 5 season 3 doesn’t have a car in the battle pass which is really weird considering the season centers around cars. also super styles suck

I think that collabs in battle passes are stupid. Some of my favorite skins and characters OAT are impossible to get anymore (ex. Gwen and Darth Vader). If they are going to do a collaboration in a battle pass, then they should make the skins somewhat original and keep the untouched skins in the item shop.

Simple answer: Every battlepass is the same now, a bunch of mid skins most people will never use with one collab skin that is the whole reason people buy a battlepass. Along with mid emotes that feel nowhere near as good as the older ones and some other random stuff that no one really cares about.

every battle pass seems to follow the same format now. theres always 3 lobby tracks, 1 or 2 emoted that use lobby track music, 3 lots of super styles, a not so secret skin. It just feels like every bp is the same with a different coat of paint. They need to bring back the screens like in c2 s2 to make them each feel more iconic and different

What I’ve realised about the battle pass for a long time now is that most of the skins in the battle pass are completely unrelated to the theme of the season itself. They’re mostly generic skinny female skins designed to please the saddo sweats who will only wear the smallest hit box feminine skins. I see grown men running around the map in a fairy skin with a pink star pickaxe I mean how sad does it get?

At this point I'm about done with fortnite. The battlepass, ditching the story, All the item shop, locker, and other changes no one asked for, and overall the 180 epic has done on doing what they want instead of listening to the community. Chapter 5 season 2 was the first time I didn't buy a battlepass on fortnite ever since I started playing and Chap. 5 season 3 is looking no different.

The battle pass was added in ch1 s2 and it had 70 tiers, in ch1 s3 the battle pass got 100 tiers meaning Fortnite increased the pass by 30 tiers and back blings were added in the pass, ch1 s4 added styles and sprays in the battle pass, ch1 s5 added toys in the battle pass, ch1 s6 added pets and music packs in the battle pass, ch1 s7 added wraps in the battle pass, ch1 s8 I forget if it added something to the battle pass but it was free if you did Overtime challenges, ch1 s9 added dual pickaxes to the battle pass, ch1 sX had remixes of old skins, ch2 s1 added 2 player emotes to the pass, ch2 s2 added surfing gliders and the 1st customizable skin and ch2 s2 also started adding collabs to the battle pass and ch2 s2 had a really cool theme for the battle pass, ch2 s3 added the custom brella to the battle pass, and ch2 s4 had the 1st collab pass the battle pass evolved from day 1 of its release and in ch3 s3 Fortnite made a new battle pass and it was for the Dragon Ball collab and the new battle pass was called a mini event pass and it included an emote as the final reward and you could get it all for free by completing quests however you could also buy it all out and the mini event pass was a success thankfully I love the mini event passes and ch4 s1 had the next mini event pass this time including a skin as the last reward in it and you could get the skin including the entire pass for free by completing quests and ch4 s2 was the next mini event pass and it implemented something new the Premium Reward Track there was a free reward track that included a free skin to get access to the Premium Reward Track you had to buy it for 1000 v-bucks and the 1st Premium Reward Track was so good because it included so many skins I think it included 4 skins in total I think it was 3 that were unlockable and then a skin was given to you for buying the Premium Reward Track and the way you could unlock the Premium Reward Track after getting access to it was completing quests or you could buy it but when you buy it out you can also buy out the free reward track along with it and actually I think it forced you to buy the free reward track when you wanted to buy out the Premium Reward Track the Premium Reward Track was a success and every mini event pass contained it after that and mini event passes after the Star Wars mini event pass did not include a free skin in the free reward track and the Premium Reward Tracks after the Star Wars mini event pass only contained 2 skins one for getting access to the Premium Reward Track and the other as the last reward in the Premium Reward Track and the skin for paying 1000 v-bucks and the skin that is the last reward in the Premium Reward Track were usually or always the same skin just different versions and then Fortnite Festival came along not long after ch5 started and with it came a Festival pass it was a mini event pass but for Fortnite Festival and each Fortnite Festival season has one and they last for as long as the Festival seasons do and the Festival pass only gives you 1 skin and Lego Fortnite received a Lego pass for the Fortnite X Star Wars event that happened on May 3rd the Premium Reward Track gave you Chewbacca if you payed 1000 v-bucks for access to it the Lego pass is still available till July 23rd

As much as I love the idea of evolving skins, you have to understand it’s really not logical on Epic’s part. They create a bunch of in between skins for people to only really use the first, middle, or last, and middle is still pushing it.

The last good battle pass was chapter 3 season 1 because there was a lot of customization with ronin changing his helmet,vest,cape and etc, and haven with the masks, and that other tier 1 skin I forgot about with a lot of super styles and armor

My only favourites skins are from chapter one. And my only favourite collab skin is the T-800. And [like again] my only favourite item shop skin is the axo skin from chapter two season three.

FOMO for me is the main selling point, a few years ago (maybe 2021 or 2022) i was bawling my eyes out because I was so mad I missed out on PEELY (WHICH WAS IN CHAPTER 1 SEASON 8) WHICH WAS LIKE IN 2018 OR 2019. A FUCKING BANANA. You can say that I'm crying over pixels on a screen and honestly I couldn't agree more but yeah, FOMO really sells.

The main thing they need to do is bring back having the first and last skin of the battle pass have stages even in the old battle passes of chapter 1 there were some skins that were bland but ppl still liked the pass bc of the 2 skins with stages

Chapter 5 season 1: "you don't know me" music pack and "I'm a mystery" emote Chapter 5 season 2: "Hunting ground" music pack and " moonlit mystery" emote Chapter 5 season 3: "Brite moves" emote Amma be honest I just dont like most skins, sure I will rock some of the new ones (Like Artemis) but I just feel as if they lost their cool/personality. Levels are tough to get and you get more styles besides battle passes are giving you 7 SKINS for 10 BUCKS

Ever since about chapter 2 season 7 battle passes have been the same boring stuff. Horrible battle star system, boring skins, collabs being the main focus, super styles, boring rewards and challenges etc. This might be a long comment so feel free to read if you'd like but I just want to go into detail on why I think current battle passes suck - The current battle star system is horrible. Some people may like it, but personally I found it so much more rewarding to get a reward for each level you get even if it's just an emoticon or spray. Now all you get is 5 battle stars per level and nothing else which I find myself forgetting to even spend these until I'm close or at tier 100. This might be an unpopular opinion but I much prefer the chapter 1 battle star system, it was a bit more challenging but that made the battle pass feel so much more rewarding. The battle pass system from chapter 2 season 1 to chapter 2 season 6 wasn't bad either but I still prefer the chapter 1 system. It also doesn't help that now most people will just afk in something like creative or lego to get levels when back then you actually had to work to level up your battle pass. Now it feels boring, unrewarding and worthless to level up your battle pass. - The skins now are so boring. Like you said back then skins used to be progressive with many styles and now they just get one or two styles and most of the time it's just recolored styles. Obviously there's nothing wrong with recolored styles in the battle pass since that's been a thing since the start but when every skin only has recolored styles and not actual progressive styles then it's a problem. The skins now also have no personality and are just not memorable. The last battle pass I feel like was truly memorable was chapter 2 season 2. Each skin had its own personality with their own cutscenes, rooms, styles you could pick, being bosses on the map with their own pois, etc. Those are just very few of the reasons why that battle pass is so memorable for so many people. Everyone genuinely remembers those characters and most people can name all of them even the less popular ones like Brutus or Tntina. Now I feel like people can barely remember any of the skins. Also has anyone else noticed how they stopped offering two tier 1 skins?? I know that was awhile ago but getting two was always better than one. - Deadpool was the first collab skin introduced in a battle pass back in chapter 2 season 2. This is the ONLY battle pass where I think they did the collab right. First of all he was just a bonus character and not apart of the main pass. They managed to make a really good and memorable battle pass without the collab skin actually being in it, so people weren't just buying the battle pass for the collab since he was a bonus. Second, they didn't make him the entire selling point as they do now. Was he a big part of it? Yes for sure. But fortnite made sure to advertise other skins for example Meowscles and Midas and develop their personalities which led to them now being two of the most popular skins in the game. Nowadays can you even name any of the battle pass skins besides the collab? I also liked how they made Deadpool an actual part of the season, letting him takeover the yacht and be a boss. Now it feels like collabs are only apart of battle passes just so they can get more people to buy them but with Deadpool it felt like he was a genuine part of the season. - The super style system is WAY too overdone. Ever since chapter 2 season 7 it has been the same thing. 3 sets of colors for 5 skins. Sometimes the styles look good, but the system itself is so overdone since it's been the same thing for 13 seasons. In my opinion they should go back to battle passes being 100 levels only but make it harder to level up. Instead of having bonus rewards they should put those cosmetics as challenge rewards that you can unlock when you get the skin and complete its challenges similar to chapter 1 battle passes. And instead of super styles they should bring back the overtime challenges at the end of each season, giving 3 skins UNIQUE styles and not just the same ones. An example would be chapter 1 season 8 overtime challenges, where Sidewinder, Ember and Master Key each got amazing and unique styles that differentiated from eachother. - I also want to mention how boring the rewards in battle passes have become. Obviously we've talked about how the skins are boring but everything else is too. Backblings now are so lame and we don't get stuff like pets anymore which were so unique and fun. Pickaxes now are so unmemorable and ugly when chapter 1 battle passes had so many good and iconic pickaxes like Trusty No. 2, Onslaught, Rift edge, Permafrost, Scratchmark and more. I will say that the gliders we get now are decent, although gliders weren't ever that popular or memorable since most people use umbrellas anyway. However one of the WORST downgrades when it comes to recent battle pass rewards is the emotes. Nowadays we're lucky to get just one dance in a battle pass when back then the battle pass was mostly dances. Other stuff like wraps, contrails, banners, emoticons and sprays are ok I guess but I feel like we get too many of them. It would be nice to see stuff like toys be brought back into battle passes. - Lastly want to mention that I think they should bring back stuff like the weekly challenge loading screens, they gave people motivation to do their challenges to unlock and see what the secret loading screen was while also leveling up their battle pass and working to unlock the secret skin which would usually be built up in these loading screens and have so much hype around. These loading screens often told the story of the season and had hidden battle stars and banners you could find. They NEVER do stuff like that anymore and challenges now are so boring and repetitive when back in chapter 1 they used to be actually unique and fun to do. So yeah sorry for the long comment but these are just some things I find wrong with the current battle pass system that hopefully they can improve. The only thing that sucks in my opinion in a battle pass is when your PC has bad lag that makes you want to quit that season until you get a new PC but finale when you do the season only has like 7 days left

I really miss the chapter one battle pass skins quality also in my opinion battle pass tiers and your level being separate was much better. I remember being level 100 being was a huge flex plus I think that the special frame that your level had was super cool. edit: One more thing. I hate the fact that the colab skins carry the battle pass. In this chapter tho for me seasons 2 hades is a skin I really like and current seasons megalo don and rust(mostly because he is a version of rust lord a skin I wish I had) but Im gonna be honest the main reason I got the battle pass is because of the fallout colab.

Alot of Female skins just look so basic and the same. The Male ones all look original even the ones deemed more Basic like Lorenzo. This season Megalo Don , the Peas and Rust all look so good!
