Why is this Generation of Consoles SO DRY??

We're almost 4 years into the 9th generation of video game consoles, with the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. It's been......dry, lets just say that.

because consoles basically bank off of AAA games to be their selling point, with AAA games releasing on console months or years before pc but most of the recent major games have all been indie games that usually come to pc first. and most AAA games now release same day on pc and console pc and the fall of AAA games is killing interest in console exclusives and in turn killing interest for consoles in general. most people have gaming capable pc's now a days and the market is adapting to that

Most people definitely don't have gaming PC's. At least not they type of PC that can smoothfully run modern AAA games. Those are still too expensive for most. A lot of console players have simply stuck with their PS4 or Xbox One because they are still being supported so they see no need to get the next one.

Yeah, and not only that, but some big games also rely way too heavily on DLC and mediocre free updates as well. They start off with a small roster or little content, and then later on they make you pay for the rest.

They really don’t care for next generation consoles when all these companies continue to support the old generation consoles. To move forward we need to abandon old generation but we will have ps6 consoles before we get next gen games only. The reason why is probably because people platinum the ps4 edition to auto pop the ps5.

Honestly I just like to play some Fortnite, apex, the finals, COD, R6, Forza, Fall Guys, Halo infinite (multiplayer), and Minecraft so this console generation is very fresh and great for me also I probably will be getting a PC however for most people like it is still great to be able to spend $300 on an Xbox series S and buy a 120hz monitor to play these titles with high frame rates and great graphics for once again a low price of $300 plus whatever monitor you buy so for me and these people the other games and exclusives are just the cherry on top

It’s so much difference the ps5 it has 120hz with 4k and HDR/VRR/URL/rtx performance mode plus it’s bigger and faster to load games and also it doesn’t overheat at all it has a big fan with perfect cooling system unlike the ps4 it has 1080p 60hz that’s all and the fan sounds like a jet plus it loads games so long it takes forever and it overheats so much that sometimes can cause damage to the console trust me I got both of them I know every thing about them also btw I have a Sony 4k/HDR/120hz ps5 feature tv so if u have a normal 1080p 60hz tv u won’t feel any change cuz u will be stuck with the 1080 60hz so u need to upgrade ur tv to a 4k/hdr tv I recommend Sony or LG but Sony is much better it has all the ps5 exclusive features some LG TVs might not have but they still got 4k/HDR/120hz and some got the rest of the features so it’s perfect but if u can’t afford a 800-1500 dollar tv then don’t get a ps5 I suggest u stick to the ps4 or else the ps5 is useless without a 4k/HDR/120hz/VRR/URL/RT PREFORMANCE TV

Also if u want to get the new games like gta6 and the new cod then u gotta get a ps5 cuz ps4 is about to come to an end cuz games won’t be released on it fine some might but u will be missing out on a lot more from ps5 if u got a ps4 and the fps drops horribly to 40s on the ps4 now and the lags of the Wi-Fi too on it I can’t handle how bad ps4 became it was good back in its days but ever since 2022 it started becoming bad and the ps5 is the top console now

Me sitting here laughing and asking wtf you’re talking about with over 20 in development indies on my steam wishlist and laughing at the very idea of AAA gaming Video games have never had a brighter future ahead of them. Less big budget focus by gamers means more money being spent on legitimate games from indie devs. Less money spent on consoles means the potential for open platforms like linux and the Steam Deck to thrive. Gaming is going places and the only way is up while we’re get a good view of the big guys falling the other way.

The new consoles don't really offer any value over a PC at this point. Previous console exclusives are available on PC on the same day as release or just a bit later. Consoles don't offer much extra convenience, as PC gaming has much less issues compared to several generations ago. The only thing they really offer is intro price, and even things like the PC handhelds like the Steam Deck and RoG Ally offer more competitive endpoints. The main reason I don't bother with the latest gen, things just take forever. With an Xbox 360 or older, I could just pop a game in and start playing. Now you have to install the game and install updates day one. If I have to go through that hassle, I might as well just play it on PC.
