There are many amazing ASUS Z790 motherboards. However, the ASUS PRIME Z790-P Wifi and the ASUS PRIME Z790-P WiFi D4 just feel off. Why? The ASUS PRIME Z790-P price is rather high for what you actually get. On the surface, you'd think it's a great budget Z790 motherboard, but the specs and the price simply don't match up.

If you do plan on overclocking with this, might be worth swapping rear fan to intake for more direct vrm cooling. I under volted and overclocked a 12900k to 5.2 and 4.9 multi core. 200 watts approx and a few percentile increase in performance over “stock” 245 watts 4.9 settings. 5.4 was unstable even with additional voltage in the curve.

You still get support for 2 Type-C 3.2 USB (1 rear, 1 front). and 5 Type-A 3.2 USB (3 rear, 2 front). I think that it is fine tbh?

Hey there! I'm trying to build a 4090 i913900k setup but can't decide on a great z790. There are so many!! I'm looking for one that has plenty relevant features that clocks about under 400 bucks. Preferably with rgb but totally ok if it doesn't have it. Looking for a black motherboard anyway. Pretty much ddr5, wifi 6E, 16-18 power phases. Hopefully you get the idea. Thanks🔥

Most motherboards under $400 will be able to run a 13900K, just depends what features you personally need for a motherboard yourself. A good mid-range to high-end Aorus, ROG, or MSI board will be a good starting point.

after having issues with ASRock, msi having their driver source code leaked, and gigabyte being a similar price but not a familiar brand...this is the board I decided to go with. I had to remind myself, I was coming from an OEM hp prebuilt mobo that was literally only used for my version of my shitty prbuilt....so anything will be an upgrade, lol

I don't buy motherboards for features, God knows this motherboard has them all; I buy for brand loyalty. My current ROG motherboard is still kicking butt even after 6 years of heavy use and the only reason I'm upgrading is because I want to upgrade to the newest Intel chipset. I can then just use my previous core components: GPU, memory (DDR4 so still usable) so in all fairness I'm getting great value from a brand I can trust.

There is one small problem. Additional holes for mounting the cooler. Therefore, Asus boards are the cheapest if you have a cooler from a 12 year old socket 1155, and you do not need to spend money on a new cooler. That is why i bought an asus mb. Also for me the M2 slots and pcie slots. I already have 4 sata disks and one m2 disk in the last 12 years. And ofc i buy another 5 m2 disks in next 12 years.

I’m looking at that motherboard and that price point doesn’t sound too bad. though I’d probably would want to sit out on buying pc parts again till I decide on another build.

Not gon lie I have the micro version and been experiencing issues with the board and memory so idk if it needs gas or a tube up 😂

what do u think about z790-p-csm? i want to get that for i5-13600k. i didn't saw "csm" in motherboard names? does it have any problem or it's normal?

Always so intresting when listening to americans rant about how expensive computer components are. This for exampel add 100 dollars and its the price in sweden. There are no Z790 that are cheeper than 2499kr (250$) so this for 250 is not expensive For a B760 there are no cheeper than 2099kr (210$)
