Why is time money?

Time you spent travelling can't be spend on studying or working. In that sense, time is money. Geographer Andy Nelson (University of Twente) created a map to calculate how much time is wasted.

Great to see this work on accessibility still going on, and that's more than 20 years in the making. It brings back a really nice memory of when Andy Nelson's laptop died while we were doing a presentation. This was after he had spent several weeks in Honduras (late 1998) hauling around that laptop, showing the accessibility analysis related to flooded-out bridges. Just minutes before the presentation, he had pulled out the laptop's hard drive and was fanning it, trying to cool it off. Fortunately, the laptop came back to life and the presentation went off without a hitch.

Tijdens het autorijden kan ik bellen. Ik doe daar 25% van mijn werk. In de trein kan ik mobiel werken. Het is zeker geen verloren tijd. Informatieve video btw. Ook interessant voor bijv China. Kunnen ze nog meer Afrika ontwikkelen en beheersen 🥺
