Speaking of which Smoking marijuana don't last you a longer life expectancy because it's proven to be for "health benefits" there are a lot of side effects may appear when you're 50+.

These "pop-culture" statistics pose a major problem in how we think. There is no mention whatsoever about whether the figures here presented are statistically significant - let alone pragmatically so. Such segments are made to inspire awe and some chagrin, yet to engineer adamantly little in the way of knowledge. As an example (~4:00 in the video), suicide-rate is shown to be ~10 in 100,000, which is equivalent 0.01%; an increase of this by 3.7% totals to .01037%; this would mean going from 1 suicide per 10,000 persons, to 1.037 suicides per 10,000. "Up-thumbs" on KZfaq.com videos indicate nothing about the quality of content; they seem to suggest simply whether an audience has appreciated the audio-quality and graphics of a segment.
@paulm2467
@paulm2467 2 жыл бұрын
Statistical significance is a tool used to assess whether a result is due to chance or how other factors are influencing the result, it is expressed as a percentage confidence and is used to assess sample validity. It doesn't come into play when you are talking about the percentage of a whole population.

@joe M Born in 1948, my Life Expectancy was 67, Today, in America, my LE is (www.ssa.gov/OACT/population/longevity.html) 85.6 years, given a good health care plan. This has dropped from a high two to three years ago of 86.2. A drop of .8 of a year, or 9.6 months. A lot has to do with the economic decline of the middle class, opioid epidemic, lack of available low cost health insurance and the increase in homelessness. While the upper classes and stock brokers (about 1/3rd of the population) are doing great, the common man is not keeping his head above water. Still it is well above the high of 80, 19 years ago. While it may be on a decline, the effects of technology is fighting a good fight against that decline for those that can afford the insurance. That is why those of us in countries with Government run health insurance, even though it too is under attack by the Insurance Lobby, are still doing better than the USA in life expectancy. CNBC put lipstick on an old sow, to cheery pick the numbers to make USA look not as bad in comparison to the rest of the world. I will most probably live to 86, in relatively good health, because of my diet, exercise, and government run health care. With advancing technology in health care, by 2034 I should expect to add at least 4-8 years to my life expectancy by then. See you in Tomorrow Land Today, if America can get Medicare For All passed. If not, then RIP :( my American cousins will be missed.

which may be correlated with the peaking revenue trends of agricutural poisons and opioid makers like Nova chemical, Monsanto, Dupont....Johnson and Johnson....And all the fast food industries .....the popularity of open-carry, easy access to fire arms, and the copy-cat trend of mass shootings vying for the most-killed trophy.

My guess into the cause of the decline in average lifespan could be the current president and the lack of regulations have caused increases in deaths related to self-induced causes. Between 2016 and 2017, the average lifespans have dropped by 0.03% in 12 months, but from 2017 and onwards, they have since rebounded from 78.6 to 78.9 years, a 0.4% increase since 2017.
