Why Jesus descended from the tribe of Judah rather than another son of Jacob
Why did Jesus descend from Judah not another son?
We read in Hebrews 7:14 NKJV
14 For it is evident that our Lord arose from Judah, of which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood.
Matthew 1 also records the lineage from Abraham to Jesus which includes Judah.
Several chapters are dedicated to Joseph in Genesis, the favored child. Judah is much less prominent than Joseph nor the oldest, for he is listed as the fourth born son of the unloved wife, Leah. So, why did Jesus arise from this son as opposed to the other sons?

After the split in two of Israel, Judah was the tribe of King David and God had PROMISED DAVID that his line would always carry on - the scepter would not depart from Judah.

Jacob says about judah the scepter does not depart until shiloh comes. WHich means it leaves. AND JACOB SAID JOSEPH IS THE PRINCE ! HE IS THE NAMESAKE AND HE IS THE FIRSTBORN>

the reason why Jesus came through Judah was because their mother praised God when he gave birth to him, after Jacob didn't love her. Because she praised God, God then lifted the baby above all.

Yeah I’m disappointed he left Leah out of this. And made it sound like Judah was chosen just for being a good guy. 😢 god heard Leah’s suffering and He cares for us- and when she accepted her fate and praised God anyway- then Judah was anointed. At least that’s how it always read to me…

When the brothers of Joseph were in the process of leaving him in a pit where he would have died, Judah saved Joseph's life by selling him to the Ishmaelites, thus allowing God's plan for Joseph to continue. Gen 37:26 And Judah said unto his brethren, What profit is it if we slay our brother, and conceal his blood? Gen 37:27 Come, and let us sell him to the Ishmeelites, and let not our hand be upon him; for he is our brother and our flesh. And his brethren were content.

Amen!!! Sooo true!!! He also spared his daughter in law’s life when she was pretending to be a temple prostitute and laid with Judah to have a son and save her lineage. She became the matriarch of Christ. Judah called her more righteous than he was because he would not give his son to her as promised out of fear of losing his third son. Rather than killing her in self-righteousness to cover up his sin of sleeping with her, he allowed her to live and give birth. Judah had a lot of compassion and mercy that defined his character! God desires mercy rather than sacrifice!

I recently started reading Genesis...and the story of Judah and Tamar had me in tears...God used the Brokeness of Tamar...Twice a Widow,God used her for his Plan blessings her with Twin Boys...through whose lineage It is Jesus...God also used Ruth,a widow married to Boaz.. Through whom we get Obed father of Jesse and Jesse father of David

4:43 Judah's suggestion ... to SELL Joseph rather than merely see the boy murdered... was a ploy to save his life. Reuben, also, tried to see their half brother given a sharp lesson by having him thrown down a well - but the others, especially Simeon - wanted Jospeh dead. As Joseph was the firstborn son of the favoured wife, he would have been given the double share; the older brothers already being disqualified for one reason or another. As such, they all had a vested interest in Joseph being killed; not just because Jospeh was a tactless, irritating prat when he was younger (however talented and handsome he might have been). Judah's idea - to sell their brother - was couched in terms the other brothers would have accepted, given that they were really obsessed with money rather than kinship.

I always thought about this question, why Yahudah when Yoceph exemplified a greater thing, -the forgiveness of all his brothers' sin against him and he even asked his father, Yaakov to pray for his brothers, that the Most High would forgive them of their trespasses against Yoceph. Truly *YHWH* has ultimate wisdom we could not fathom. Praises and Glory be to Them, Father and Son. *YHWH* and Yahusha Ha'Mashiach!

I love the messages you turn out and deeper dive into the education on the topics. The messages can be better with proof reading/listening. I trip when I hear words like dynasty and bows pronounced in the wrong direction. All the same great message, God bless 🙏

However, reading and comprehending scriptures require a significant amount of time and effort. According to the laws of Moses and the teachings of Essahak, the son of Abraham, marrying women from abominable tribes would result in expulsion from the community. Judah, despite being aware of this, still had children through such an unlawful union. How can we possibly explain this?

I strongly believe that Judah received this blessing at the time of his birth, bu the declaration made by his mother: ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭29:35‬ ‭NLT‬‬ [35] Once again Leah became pregnant and gave birth to another son. She named him Judah, for she said, “Now I will praise the Lord!” And then she stopped having children. When we praise the LORD, He comes down. "Now I will Praise the LORD" Carries a deep significance of the LORD" coming down through Judah. " By the time Jacob prophesied, he was only "downloading" from the Spiritual realm what God had predestined Judah to be.
