If I were John Daly I would fire my manager with immediate effect for total incompetence!! They harped on about his name and brand but took a pass on getting him featured on the best Golf YT channel out there, and bringing him to a wider, younger audience? His wife needs to clearly not be involved and the manager has to go. This is gross incompetence and lack of awareness of society and brand building in todays world.

Or don’t you think John Daly who likes to gamble a lot off the course has told his management, I’m not doing a promo video without getting a cut. Rick Sheils would make a lot of money from YT on a video like that, why shouldn’t John Daly get a cut. Doing it last minute to maybe force a higher percentage is not good way, they could have agreed something before the day.

@@lukesurtees2211 it's not easy to just "get a cut" because the videos earnings vary massively and I doubt Rick is willing to go through the hassle of sending monthly or yearly earnings to John for ever more. The reward is exposure, John Daly does not have access to this exposure on this platform. That is something the other pros and their management understand and so should John and his people

This is kind of a little snapshot of John Daly's career, isn't it. He's adored and loved by golf fans around the world, he's infamous even. He really missed an opportunity to be himself in front of two million younger fans. Whatever they thought they were losing or trying to gain in negotiations was most likely lost ten fold. John Daly's enjoying a bit of a resurgence lately this could have been a really good push to that momentum he seems to be enjoying lately. I have never seen Rick Shiel's try to defame anyone or portray them in a bad light. I hope John reconsiders in the future, I'd love to watch him play with Rick.

I think when you title something why John Daly refused to film with me, you should maybe post a short clip in which you are talking about that only. Because it gets annoying to have to try and figure out where in a 50 minute clip you actually talk about that. Take your shows and post shorter clips about certain topics. You will probably get a lot more watches on those shorter clips than the long ones.

It usually gets pretty messy when family gets involved in a players management, regardless of the sport. Family tends to be much more controlling than a hired outside party. I was at bedminster. They had 13 groups over 18 holes. I walked around following some of the groups. Then I hit a gap, not sure of the layout so I spent a little bit trying to refine the action. I do see where it might make a player that is completely out of contention play much harder.

Would say though with LIV Golf, it doesnt appear as though youve given it much of a chance, comparing a new start up to PGAT events been around for years is not a fair comparison. Personally i could live without the shotgun start, but i do like the teams, leaderboard and that they have a lot of the popular and interesting players. I also wish PGAT would reduce thier schedule to condense the pros a bit more instead of spreading them out over 47 events.

It sounds like Daly's management tried to bulldog you. Basically, they waited until the last minute to create an urgency on your part to either accept their terms or get nothing. Old school negotiation used by people who win either way. Had the agreement been on paper, you could have avoided it. Honestly, I'd just avoid that group altogether in the future because you better believe, Daly knew what was up so, pretty crappy move all around and sure representation of the character from that camp.

The team stuff doesn't do much for me. It all feels a bit like World Team Tennis.... popular but aging players who do not or cannot perform like they used to while they try to compensate with a hype machine albeit with way more money. I agree about the need to see a bit more to player needs but LIV does not have those players who really need that. @@billgowing7744 I get your point about playing the course from front to back, sorta like older music albums. However, with the XX holes remaining indicator, I don’t think it’s confusing at all; and in fact, I kinda like it. And like I mentioned above, folks have stuff to do. Shotgun start is more time efficient for viewers at home and those who go to the course to watch. I love golf, but I’ve got stuff to do man. I work a long hours and have a family and other hobbies (little time though), too. Life is short, so I don’t want to spend a lot of time just watching golf. Besides, golf isn’t as popular as a sport and part of it is because of the slower paced presentation. Shotgun start helps with the presentation and puts more action out there at once in a shorter time frame. In sum, I think the benefits of shotgun start outweigh dated ways of doing things.

And just for others posting comments on here, please research the difference between the PGA (Professional Golfers Association of America) and the PGA Tour. This division has absolutely NOTHING to do with the PGA. I think most peoples issue with LIV is where the money is coming from, but essentially, this IS exactly what the PGA Tour golfers did to the PGA in 1968.. I'm hoping that sometime in the near future the Pga Tour and DP World Tour see sense and all work together for the betterment of the sport, not their own egos.

Bravo for not agreeing with JD mgmt., the 11th-hour tactic to renegotiate the terms is common in business and it's typically the result of a belief that the deal favors the other side. In this case, NIL (name, image, likeness) is the issue that many past/former people realize that they haven't been capturing this value (in the past) and suddenly believe it has to be addressed. When in reality these teams (mgmt., spouses etc.) are destroying the ability to monetize the opportunity that feeds a greater strategic business plan.

Your take on LIV golf is Hilarious! You love watching half a golf tournament round on TV (3hours) with commercials vs LIV full golf tournament round (5 hours) no commercials. It’s like choosing to buy a car with no tires and mirrors when you could’ve bought a fully equip car. Love you guys
