Cobra Kai is an American martial arts comedy-drama streaming television series and a sequel to the Karate Kid's original movie directed by Robert Mark Kamen. The series was created by Josh Heeld, John Harwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, who repeated their roles as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence in the 1984 movie The Karate Kid. Thirty-four years later, the Cobra Kai examines the story of "Miyagi Verse '' from Johnny's point of view, his decision to reopen the Cobra Kai Karate Dojo, and the resurgence of his old competition with Daniel. The Cobra Kai also stars Xolo Mariduena, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni Dechenzo, Martin Kove, Vanessa Rubio and Peyton List. This series boasts high ratings on both KZfaq and Netflix and has received widespread positive reviews from critics. The third season was also nominated for an "Outstanding Comedy Series" at the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards. The first season started on KZfaq Red in 2018 and the second season continued in 2019. After the production of the third season was completed, KZfaq decided to stop producing the original scripted show and leave the show without a house. Netflix acquired the series in June 2020 and released the third season on January 1, 2021. Netflix expanded the series to the fourth season, released on December 31, 2021. The fourth season of the Cobra Kai was released on Netflix on December 31, 2021 and consists of 10 episodes. This series is a direct sequel to the four original films of The Karate Kid franchise, focusing on the characters of Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, more than 30 years after the original film. Following the first two seasons on KZfaq, Netflix will release the fifth season. Johnny Lawrence is one of the main antagonists-turned-protagonists of The Karate Kid trilogy and Cobra Kai television series. He was the troubled rich kid of the Valley who started a feud with new kid Daniel LaRusso that lasted over thirty-years. His vicious training with martial arts made him a formidable opponent, as he was the top student at the Cobra Kai dojo. After losing the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, Johnny's life turned upside down and remained that way into his adulthood. He is the estranged father of Robby Keene. In an attempt to reclaim his life, Johnny reopens the Cobra Kai Dojo and becomes a sensei to an entirely new generation of students. Who better to follow up on when talking about Daniel LaRusso's unique relationship to cobra kai than none other than Johnny Lawrence himself. Last time I talked about Daniel and his history with aggression and how he's always had a bit of Cobra Kai in him. And now this time I'll be discussing why Johnny Lawrence deep down has had moments of Miyagi Do within him, and how he and Miyagi Do, are just as deadly of a combo as Johnny and Cobra Kai.

I was genuinely impressed with how quickly Johnny picked up Miyagi-Do. It was the thing that helped him briefly hold his own against Silver. And now we know why: because he did find his balance. He could become great at it if he picks it back up and sticks with it, maybe with Chozen teaching him.

I want Chozen to expose Daniel and admit the closest thing to Miyagi or his lesson of balance is Johnny. Johnny does try to work out his life, Johnny doesn’t hold a grudge for Daniel, how would you act if you were humbled, payed respect to Daniel after, saved by Miyagi and then to never talk with Daniel again. Then the next time you talk to him you are the butt of his joke. Johnny is the modern day Mr. Miyagi, maintenance man, unorthodox training methods, his relationship with Miguel, and he also tries Daniel to find balance.

What makes him great is his failures in life helps him willing to learn from his own students as oppose to a more successful Daniel who is really lost without Mr. Miyagi's guidance.

I said it before and I will say it again. Robby is gonna join Johny when he goes to find Miguel. This NEEDS to happen as Robby and Johny will need time to progress the relationship between them as father and son. Robby also needs to atone for the school fight by fixing things with Miguel once and for all so they can finally start on the road to becoming like brothers which let's face it, is what we all prayed for since day 1 and lastly Johny needs to repair the bond between him and Miguel. 3 birds with one stone.

Technically, a lot of the fights that took place were started by Johnny, but Daniel would always escalate it further pulling pranks. Johnny was a bully but Daniel would always initiate it

Johnny is definitely my favorite Cobra Kai character. It was tough to see him hit rock-bottom ever since his defeat in 84 tourney, and having to see how successful his rival has become in comparison. And to see him from that to a respected sensei turning losers into badasses makes his character arc my favorite of all time. As well as having the most savage and most hilarious dialogue ever, especially whenever he shows his cluelessness to modern technology and culture. His relationship with Miguel is my favorite teacher-student relationship in the whole Miyagiverse on par with even Daniel and Miyagi. That being said, he still has his faults, as I still think he is a terrible deadbeat father to Robby. Daniel is objectively a better father than Johnny ever was. Added with the fact that he is bitter about his defeat even though he showed good sportsmanship at the end, by giving Daniel the trophy and could have ended their bitter rivalry there. Really wish that CK didn't retcon that. As well as trusting Kreese, despite Daniel and his friends warnings, not heeding Daniel's warning about Silver and his skill in mind games. Overall, I still love Johnny, as I good far outweighs the bad.

Thing is, Johnny basically ended that rivalry by the end of KK1 - Kreese just shattered Johnny's worldviews in the start of KK2 and that basically became the start of his downfall: being betrayed by the one person he viewed as a father figure

Johnny is like Snape in HP. He has done a lot of awful things in the past, but he is trying, and is more funny, charming and goodlooking. He is on a steep learning curve. But like Snape he is a teacher for those gifted and motivated. Daniel is Hufflepuff, he takes all that are willing to work, and has patience with those for which it isn't easy. Johnny starts out as Slytherin but improves to some kind of Gryffindorish. Kreese ... he wants his students to be fighters from the start, everything but the losers.

I think Johnny's Ideology never truly worked for anyone. It made Hawks self value be placed in the wrong thing and made Miguel not find fulfillment in his life and karate anymore. Being awesome, getting with women, drinking, all the extremes that Johnny has lead to burn outs. But the passivity of Daniel is self destructive as well. Johnny's lifestyle and beliefs are only temporary fixes and he never taught forgiveness or kindness to his students. Personally Miyagis outlook on being ready for the fight but doing everything to avoid it will always be prime.

Perfect sensei my ass. He improved A LOT and now he's good, but in S1 he corrupted a lot of teens and now he teaches them recklessness and lessons that would land them in jail if the show weren't so dishonest about this "strike first" mentality.

Miyagi-Do: Sam(who would've lost in the Semis if it weren't for Johnny), Demitri, Eli. Eagle Fang: Miguel (who was off balance and injured), Devon(someone who had only trained for 6 weeks). Yeah, I wonder why Miyagi-Do did better...

Lol just because his dojo didn't do great, that doesn't make him a shit teacher. Remember, he was the reason why Miguel became 2018 All Valley Champ. And the reason why Hawk won was mostly because of Johnny, don't forget he also did train Hawk for at least 2 seasons
