We take a deep dive on Joyce Edwards and why she is the perfect fit for South Carolina. We look at how Dawn Staley and A'ja Wilson convinced her to come home. As well we look at how she some adversity but stayed loyal.

When you look at this 24-25 roster, from top to bottom - there is no glaring weakness. As much as I'd like to say the 23-24 team is arguably one of the best SC teams of the Staley era, the 24-25 team (at leasst, on paper) looks even better - which is mind-blowing.

She played the best in those all star post high school games...i think she is the best ready to play recruit.. The downgrade in my understanding had nothing to do with her play and talent..rather the down grade was due to her high schools national ranking. Whether she is one, two or three really doesn't matter. In the end, it's all subjective. For example, people see artwork differently. What I may think looks beautiful, you may believe that another piece of art works better for your living room. It's primarily about the fit for each team. That's why so many players head for the portal in later years - to seek a better fit for themselves.

TBD - but their games are different. Strong has a pure shot from outside and can bully people inside. I think she is like a tall Aylisa Pili Edwards - pure athlete - is 6'3 but moves so well. She is developing face up game as mid range jumper looks good. Then if defender challenges then she flies by them. As well, want to see if she can play the 3 with her speed. If she can than she will be able to bully small forwards.
@WittynotSilly13 күн бұрын

If you're actually using worthless all star games as an argument on why someone should be #1, you don't no ball at all. I don't care how much (or little) defense you think is actually being played in those games, but that's an exhibition gala. Morrow, FJ, Williams, Samiyah Smith coming back, and now with these 3 and Jersey from Arkansas. Mulkey still has room for 2 more if she chooses. I Think one more Big to go along with Smith and Del Resario would be ideal. People hating on Mulkey forget she knows what the hell she’s doing and her recruiting is done behind the scenes. You don’t know if SC is recruiting Kiki. Kiki put in the no contact policy which means she knows her worth and what schools she is considering. She wants a Natty. Best school to accomplish that - SC. Kiki styles her game after Aja Wilson ( read her twitter 1/19). And rest assured, Joyce is the #1 recruit coming from the 2024 class regardless of how they are trying to spin. But that really doesn’t matter as the end result is how the team performs - 38-0 with a Natty. 🏆🏀
