The lightning is a power generally associated with the Sith, as you said, and truthfully, I don't think Ben ever sees himself as a Sith. He even tells Rey that he wants them to forget both the Sith and the Jedi, to just be their own thing, essentially. He probably came to have this mentality during his time with the Knights of Ren. That's how they saw the Force, not something that is good or bad, but just is. I myself don't entirely disagree with this point of view. Anyway, yeah, I think you're right, he just has no reason to ever use the lightning. He's good enough with his saber, and most the time when we see him fighting someone, he's fighting Rey, and he doesn't actually want her dead, so...

I think in a way he probably want to be more like Vader and be as skillful as him if not better because he always looked upto him and wanted to be better than him in a way.

I think it may be because at times Kylo Ren is unstable. I mean look at Rey, when she used force lightning for the first time she blew up an entire ship. Just imagine Kylo Ren, who has years of experience, using it every time he got angry. I think that's why he prefers to take out his anger with his lightsaber because it's a bit safer to him and others (ironically)

That makes sense. Maybe he made a conscious decision to never use it again because of that instability he felt. He likes to feel in control and force lightning has an adverse effect on him internally.

Yeah I totally agree with you I just think he never needed to use it. And didn’t like using it. He seemed to enjoy using his lightsaber in combat more. Also I believe he likes using force choke more like his grandfather before him.

Yeah, I think Kylo doesn’t ever have a real need to use it meaning he probably hasn’t mastered it anyways, so he just refrains from using it unless it’s absolutely necessary. If you watch him looking for Palpatine in the temple on Exogal in the beginning of TROS he keeps his left hand slightly up in a ready state, almost like he knows this is a situation where he might need to unleash something as powerful and unstable as force lightning…

I agree with all your points, but I assumed he never used Force Lightning because he wasn’t really a full Sith. Then, when you said he can, just doesn’t, it makes even more sense why he doesn’t use it. You know what I’d love to see? Ben Solo using Light Side “Force Lightning” called “Electric Judgment”, like Plo Koon. That would make more sense for Ben, not Kylo (in my opinion)

I think that’d be really cool! I always wanted to see Luke use it at some point after Return of the Jedi, but it’d be awesome for Ben to do it as well.

You are so right! Force lightning is never used from lightsiders because of the harm it does and the negative feelings one has to channel to use it. Electric judgment does't do any harm, if I remember correctly Drath Plagues "speaks" about that technique

Your right…. It is few and far between that he ever really needs it. However if he had learned to use it, perhaps as “Ben” it would’ve been useful in his battle with Rey against Palpatine…….

I think one reason is because his grandfather never did. Kylo Ren wanted to be the new Darth Vader, hence why he always tried to emulate him.

He may have felt it was too ostentatious in most cases, and then with Rey, you are absolutely right.

Maybe, but I also feel like Kylo is often seeking recognition which he can gain through his displays of brute force. It doesn’t happen often, but I think his introduction on Jakku is a prime example of this. He wants to demonstrate his power and authority to the rest of the First Order. With Rey, however, he loosens up. His sole focus is on getting her to join him and nothing else matters in those moments.

I watched the rise of Skywalker and I can tell you for a fact the reason why Kylo ren didn't use force lightning and that reason is because Kylo Ren dep down he is a good man and Das not enjoy watching people suffer.

What? Rey whooped his butt in episode 7 and Kylo Ren was completely evil, he killed his Dad. Force lighting is a dark side power. Does this guy even know what he's talking about?

Kylo killed his father because Snoke told him it was the only way for him to be whole. And Rey only 'whooped his but' because he was injured and he allowed her to do so. Do you know what you're talking about?

Cause force lightning sucks, that's why. Seriously, any jedi except for some stupid padawans could reflect this shitty cast with a lightsaber or literally with their bare hands. So why should anyone use this power anyway? Force Storm - now, that's another story.
