Күн бұрын

Life has so much potential and yet in our everyday lives, we seem to make so little of it. No matter how much money we make we are in perennial scarcity, despite labor saving devices we have no time to enjoy life and with all the social media the world is a lonelier place. Param Srikantia, a professor at the Baldwin Wallace University’s School of Business in Ohio, speaks to the heart of these contradictions and explores how the transformation of consciousness can unleash the deeply hidden potential of individuals in their professional and personal lives. His talk seeks to offer a fundamental shift in our consciousness to awaken us to a profound appreciation of life. Srikantia has authored 35 research papers, held leadership roles in six global conglomerates and delivers management and leadership seminars that blend wisdom and humor, reaching thousands of participants in nine cities. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

The PURPOSE of your life is 'to experience and enjoy as much life as possible'. This is not a casual, flippant statement. This is 100% true for every person on the planet. You should spend your life doing what ever you like, or what ever you think you should, but this doesn't change your PURPOSE.
@deussivenatura5805

@@isaac1572 That's a pretty naive way of looking at it. The reality is there is nom universal purpose. The closest thing that comes to a purpose is surviving long enough to have pass on your genetic material then die when the time comes to make room. Your view of a purpose is subjective and completely made up by you, it isn't objective.

I love the talks that always say that we have to enjoy the life we have. When your life is a mandatory 9-5 and others have the power to tell you when you can sit down and when you can stay home and rest, you can't enjoy life. If you're lucky to have weekends off and find yourself wishing it were Friday all the time, you're just wishing your life away. I do agree that you need to learn to love yourself before you can love anything else, but when the game has been rigged since the beginning, you can't and shouldn't feel bad for it. Just accept that life is pointless and you don't have to try to give it a point. Pray you find a mentor while young and Pray that you find a tolerable career that pays enough to support a comfortable lifestyle. Just don't Pray to be happy, that will only lead to disappointment.

Life is heartbreakingly disappointing. And it passes by so quickly…slipping through your fingers. You keep hoping it will get better, but it never does. And then you realize you’ll probably waste your whole life hoping it will get better and it never does and then you just die and it’s over. And it’s like what even was the point?

This man has a point, but it's small. The root is that the lust+greed of man has destroyed the balance necessary to live in Harmony with the earth. We have all been placed into states of dependency upon other men, when we should only be dependent upon an abundance of nature, a natural abundance. The question is not just happiness. The question is freedom.

It depends where you live. I live in New York City. You go from home to work to home everyday. It's like a 10 to 14 hour routine everyday. If you want people to feel happy. They should start paying $30 per hour salaries. So people won't get depressed. With the current $15 per hour wage it's not enough. Those $15 have to make the monthly payments. Like rent and utilities bills.

It's so easy to say "Enjoy the present moment" when you're living the good life. What if your career is an embarrassment despite years of unending work and you haven't seen your wife in a year?
