dude job gaps are a joke. specially within 9months. because in canada unemployment lasts that long. so to live life, you can last that long. but companies see that as red flag. bunch of bs. i got interviews with same company twice. once as steady employed, and once as honest unemployed. the time i said i was employed got me the job offer. and this was multiple times.

@PhilLesh69 2 жыл бұрын
@@asadb1990 I actually think anyone who talks about "job gaps" is either gaslighting or being gaslit. I lost a job at a news publishing company in 2007. I had enough money to live off of my own savings without unemployment or any kind of assistance for well over 18 months and so I took that time to take a shot at another business. After about 9 months I decided to give up on that idea, it wasn't quite as fantastic as I had hoped. But in the meantime a family member had a fourth recurrence of a late stage cancer and I ended up spending the next 18 months providing end of life care assistance for them. So now I'm 36 months out from my last W2 official employment. oh noz. Even my own family will gaslight me from time to time about my "long job gap", even though they were too busy to even stop in at the hospital for months on end and relied on the fact that I was there 12 hours a day every day for over twelve solid months. Because now it's a way to use something against me. It's all BS. I consider this no different from discounting women applicants on the basis that "women get pregnant and want to leave the job market to take care of their kids" (or even worse how they're getting even more twisted about that in regards to same-sex parents.) It's a gaslight. People have all kinds of reasons for not being employed at any given time. These folks want to penalize you for *truancy* _from work,_ if you really listen closely to them. Or maybe it's jealousy? Maybe they resent you for being able to do something they could only dream of? Take over a year off from work? Lose ground? How can anyone do that?

Companies want good slaves who are married/have kids. After about 20 years working, I'll tell young people you should not have any loyalty to any organization, they will turn on you in a second when its convenient and fire/replace you. Also to ensure no slavery, young people dont get married and dont get a girl pregnant, make sure she takes the birth control pill daily in front of you and both wear protection. You will just condemn your new child to increasing poverty and freedomless slavery and these control/money/job trends worsen. Promote this idea in videos and social media to help prevent more young people into this new slavery.

As someone who works in one of the big social media companies, your account was most likely taken down under a policy that many call "inauthentic behaviour" or "account misrepresentation". Even though you were making a point, many sites, in particular Facebook and Instagram (Not Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, or Twitter), require a *real* person's profile. As you were publically LARPing as someone with inauthentic behaviour, your account was most likely taken down under that policy. Not saying they are right, just providing clarity into what most likely happened with internal conversations. Personally, I think, you've done a great service to the entire job-hunting community because you've proved how much shit is on these sites.

The biggest offender in "inauthentic behaviour" is Linkedin itself. It bans eminent scientists and those who provide links to their work. I mean mainstream, world renowned ones. Not conspiracy nuts. @Seeingblind2 are they really vague? 'Do not create a fake profile or falsify information about yourself: We don’t allow fake profiles or entities. Do not post misleading or deceptive information about yourself, your business, your qualifications, work experience, affiliations, or achievements. Do not use an image of someone else, or any other image that is not your likeness, for your profile photo. Do not associate yourself on LinkedIn with a business or organization that you are not actually associated with. Do not use or attempt to use another person's LinkedIn account or create a member profile for anyone other than yourself. And do not share your LinkedIn account with anyone else.' 'Violating our community policies can result in action against your account or content These policies apply to all members. Depending on the severity of violation, we may limit the visibility of certain content or remove it entirely. If you believe a particular item of content was removed in error, you can appeal from the link provided in the removal notice. Repeated or severe offenses can result in a temporary or permanent restriction from LinkedIn. If you believe action taken on your account was in error, you can submit a request to appeal your case.' Or are they clear and the fact that people cannot read (like a job poster profile) is also applied to a lot of people (like cannot read a guidelines and rules...)

I got banned from linked in. I literally created an account denied all cookies and disabled all data collecting and privacy settings (which was a ton) then logged off. The next time I tried to log in, I got the same ban message, smh. If I weren't looking for a new job I would've never considered creating another new account.

I had the “You know what you did” line in an annual performance review once. They said I caused problems for a few other people I worked with but wouldn’t tell me who they were or what I had supposedly done to them, they just gave me that line instead. Later on I found out that same person was $hit talking me to other people too. I left not too long after that.

I went though this on Facebook and twitter. By submitting your ID, your agreeing to a legal review of your account. Its a railroad tactic where they receive a complaint, make a decision to suspend you, demand ID or dont respond within 30 days the account is deleted. If you do respond with ID, they complete there stupid review and ban you anyways all while getting prepared to follow up with you filing for disclosure and contract fraud in a court.
@ismith8053

Yep demanding your id is particularly vile. Even cops don't ask to see your passport. Only lawyers I was using, travel agents/airlines and passport control have ever asked me, aside from LI. Why should a scumbag from Davos, with an army of Pakistan based e-trolls masquerading as "moderators"? Fuck LI, they are scum.

It is related to the fact that you can be contacted by persons that look for a job and they can send you sensitive personal information , maybe that is the reason , nobody knows that you were trying to make a point or it's just a joke , it can be also marked as scam , false information , misleading . On the other hand I deleted my linkedin account just because it became more and more cringe with posts unrelated to jobs . Linkedin transformed into something like twitter , facebook and other social media platform . I would like to keep professional stuff in one place and social media in another .

Humor isn't the problem, the problem is truth. Truth in the twenty first century has become offensive. Same reason their calling 2021 the great resignation, people are starting to come to the realization that the American Dream is just that...A dream. Work hard and you'll be rewarded is a complete fallacy, unless of course you start from a position of privilege. Then again most that start from a privileged position don't need to work hard to achieve the American Dream, its handed to them because of their privileged position at the start and their further privilege of gaining admission to the top colleges regardless of their abilities and skills. Linkedin and the majority of sites dedicated to "helping you" achieve your dreams are nothing more than obstacles to keep you in a position of weakness and obfuscation, which Josh sadly pointed out which is the real reason Josh was banned.

You embarrassed them and as I'm sure you know corporate entities don't take kindly to being embarrassed. So naturally their first action was always to go scorched earth and erase anything and everything associated with the embarrassing content. They don't care about you or your account; you're a drop in the bucket. So it's easier just to get rid of you entirely than to actually have someone high enough up the pay grade to make informed decisions spend anytime making a reasonable decision.
