So very, very beautiful. I now live on the South coast of Ireland but was raised in Cumberland (NEVER Cumbria) and sometimes I actually ache for snow in the winter. We used to walk to school (which was a mile or so away) on drifts of snow six feet deep in a tiny village called Ousby and loving it and sledging down the fells with my little brother. Such blissful memories. So thank you for sharing this. Much love to you both, A.

Absolutely stunning . Please can you kindly explain why the West Highland Way ,Loch Lomond never feels so cold , or am I mistaken . Next week being treated to Lodge on the Lochs few days . Would loved to have walked the west Highland way . My late husband suffered depression in later years more so . He was either very high or low ,not drug related .When he was happy we all were . He actually looked very ill at times , to his very last day ,he always said , I love you . Work and emotions played a big part . He admitted he had down days growing up ,after years of telling us it was other people who made him moody .xx

To live somewhere that makes your heart sing is the greatest privilege. I get that from my crumbly beautiful old stable with its big windows ( for the farmhorses to get through) and its granite courtyard. So much to be grateful for as many many people can’t get to it. Your special part of the world is probably yours because fate or whatever it’s called knows you will take care of it. Relax, give thanks and enjoy……you must deserve it.
