Rice, Kobbie, Bellingham is such a perfectly balanced midfield its ridiculous. Two 'sitters', both with the ability to go forward when needed and all three full of youthful energy. With a front 3 of Kane, Saka, Foden and the likes of Rashford, Toney, Maddison, Grealish as backups, England have an incredible chance to win it.

As an arsenal fan I have to say Mainoo from the small amount of games ive seen him in has a high footballing IQ for this age and will no doubt be a baller as a 8 going forward . He has great ball carrying and passing ability and he can dictate dictate the tempo of the game knows when to slow things down and retain the ball or go forward and creates scoring chances for his teammates. He has great vision and fairly precise distribution.On a defensive contributions level he is timely with interceptions and tackles. His adaptability to different positions is also on a ridiculous level and has bags of agility in tight half spaces as well as amazing composure for this age. I cant see him failing at united he seems to be getting better and better in every game I see him in and doesn't shy away in difficult games and big games . United just need a certified 6 really like Amadou Onana which I hope arsenal can get.

Kobbe mainoo is different from typical English midfielder. Bellingham, Rice, Phillips, Henderson etc are in a way a very similar player. Kobbie Mainno is like Scholes, Wilshere type player, who is very different from these players.

Mainoo has to start, he is the by far the best option to play alongside Rice in a double pivot in midfield

Hey Rory, it is the day after England vs Belgium and I think that we can safely say that your prayers have been answered. It Gareth Southgate had a legitimate excuse to not play Kobbie, he doesn't now. Kobbie Mainoo is absolutely extraordinary, ready not only as a squad member but as a starter. And to emerge so soon after Jude Bellingham is just crazy. The emergence of two uniquely special players in as many years that both play for ENGLAND is insane. Forget the golden generation of the early 2000's, I can't think of a time when England has ever produced so many special players. I mean if Jadon Sancho had a more professional attitude toward his career (not doing a Musa Dembele till the wee hours of the morning) and young Mason Greenwood's girlfriend had chosen to only talk about his behavior instead of taping and posting it for all the world to hear and think what a Dick! I think it's a blessing in disguise. 1st, it will give him much rest and not 2 much weight in his young age like Owen, and 2nd, it will just make him more hungrier 2 prove himself, which is just positive.

Having a midfielder who can play to his back to the opposition goal and take the ball on the turn and play progressive passes. England have lacked a number 6 type midfielder since Gazza. But it would help if from Pickford and back 4 would pass it forward through midfield and push up and play a higher line.

Can easily see a future England midfield three of Mainoo, Bellingham and Foden: having seen the potential of those lads, that should be absolutely terrifying.

Definitely think he should be in the squad, but with his lack of experience he will really need to excel in training to earn a starting berth. Gallagher, Jones and Trent all ahead of him in terms of high level experience. Henderson is done and should be brought as backroom staff, not taking up a playing spot.

Players like Rooney and Owen had good stats to back them up at youth level. Mainoo is fairly fresh. He doesn't get in the starting eleven at the moment but could be a good bench option. If everyone is fit for the Euros he may just squeeze in.
