Loved this video. I live alone and was spending a fortune on frozen entrees. You spoke in previous videos about prepping future meals. I bought individual sized aluminum pans from Amazon, made casseroles and divided them into 8-12 portions depending on what it was. My freezer filled with many many meals and after the first 10 casseroles I haven't cooked dinner in months. I just reheat my entree and add a side vegetable or starch. Thank you for the encouragement.

Great idea! Can you share the link to those pans? The worst part of freezer meals is a 9x13 pan that I eat out of for a week. Your idea would help a lot. Thanks!!

I do the same! I only cook for my dad and myself and I prep and cook the meals in individual containers. it worked great and I cook once every couple of months 5 or 6 dishes and that's it! I also start investing in pyrex individual glass containers they are oven/freezer/microwave safe. and I always get meals idea from here 🙂

I bought a FRESCO Vacuum Sealer & 1 box each of WEVAC: 11"X150' & 8" X 150' & now I make large meals (most recently a Vegetable Lasagna) & cut it into infividual portion sizes & I add a bit more pasta sauce to the (perfect sized bag I cut using the slide cutter that's built into the box the roll comes in) bag & put the slice inside, put the edge of tge bag into the slot & tap moist & the vacuum sealer does the rest. All I have to fo is put 1 or 2 (me & hubby) of the bags into the pot & heat it & cut the bottom & slide the slice out on a plate garnish & dinner is done 🙆‍♀️❣ I love this system, now I will make other meals & portion them out & bag them date & write what's in them & be able to have an assortment of choices ready. I want to make a beef stew next & a broccoli, rice, & cheese casserole. I'm so glad I bought these items & they weren't as expensive as the Food Saver was, I had one of them years ago. Since then I've had double wrist surgery & it hurts to push & pull & all the other vacuum sealers want you to push, lock, or hold the lid down. This one just has a tray that catches any overflow & it's magnetic & all you have to do is get it close & it pulls the tray in for you 🙆‍♀️❣ I love it do much I bought 2 FRESKO Vacuum Sealers❣ The 2nd was $10.0] less than the first one I bought & it comes wirh the attachments to use with the Food Saver canning lids, a win, win for me❣🙆‍♀️

I started giggling when you said enchiladas is Josh’s favorite. My sister was married to a minister and she would tell everyone “that’s my husband’s favorite” no matter what it was. Every time there was a church potluck everyone wanted to make sure the minister was being fed his “favorite”. He got to the point he didn’t like potlucks anymore. Lol

Becky you have no idea how much you have taught me! Last night I wanted salad...Granted i had no ingredients for a nice green salad so I ordered them from my local grocery and went and picked up my order. I was going to buy raw chicken and then you flashed in my head...make the most of this grocery order you said....So I changed my chicken and bought two rotisserie chickens and pulled all the meat off. I made caramelized onions last weekend and had a boat load of Onion scraps in my freezer and some celery that was at the end of it's usable life. Bones water veggies all into my crockpot to make some bone broth.....and enough chicken for dinner and to put away in the freezer for another meal later on. You have some of the easiest tips to follow for staying ahead of the game. Thank you so very much for taking time to put it all out here for us to learn.

I find myself in a drought as well, CA. When I wash my produce, I will typically get a bowl of water and wash the least dirty to most dirty things in the water. That way I know its's actually coming off the food, as I see the proof in the bottom of the bowl. But this also conserves water, instead of it going straight down the drain. I then take that dirty water and water some house plants or something with it. Just food for thought. Thank you for making inspiring food content - from your garden to these dinner vlogs and everything in-between. I'm going to start canning thanks to your courage showing me the ease of it.

You should use your Chive Blossoms to make Chive Blossom vinegar! I use either white vinegar or apple cider vinegar. I wash and dry the blossoms, fill a canning jar with them and then pour over the vinegar until they are submerged. Then I let it sit for 4 or 5 weeks. The vinegar ends up being a gorgouse pink color (pinker if you use white vinger vs apple cider vinegar) but it is sooooo good to make vinegrette dressings. Light onion flavor.

La nina is always wet like this. El nino will come and itll be drier and hotter than ever and all this green fuel being grown by the rain will be the tinder to the next massive buhfires pest plagues etc Droughts and flooding rains isnt exactly new here. The rest of the world is getting a taste of aussie climate. Be thankful we dont really have natural diasasters like earthquakes tornados volcanoes tsunamis etc If all i have to worth about is fire and water which is survivable somewhat preventable and mostly were use to it. Id take a mean mother nature over the wrath of man anyday. War is the only disaster i cant tolerate - the man made kind.

I think when you're ready to start selling merch that you need a t-shirt (or mug) that says " it's ok!" I've been watching you for a while and I think you say it in almost every video, which I love! It IS ok!! You have a great name too ;)

I love the food prep videos! I must not have as much freezer space as you. I can’t put whole pans in my freezer (I have it pretty full right now!) so I would just take the pumpkin pasta and freeze that by itself. Then I would thaw it, put it in the pan and top it before baking. I always double or triple my chicken pot pie recipe and freeze the extra. Then I just thaw and put it in a crust! Saves a lot of freezer space!

Becky, could you do a video on how you care for your beautiful pots and pans? I can’t seem to get the bottom of my pots and pans (outside that touches the stove or rack) clean like new no matter how much I scrub or what with I scrub them. I agree with you on the home grown carrots. My dad was a wonderful gardener and I wish sorely now that I had bothered to learn from him. We always had fresh produce to make meals with and we helped with the preservation of the crops. Thank you for sharing your days with us. You’re very inspirational.

Oh boy those noodles look so good 👍 love me some noodles. Great job on the cooking and video. Here a small tip. When ur hand grating carrots leave the top on. So when u start grating u can grate it down to the just below the top of the carrots without grating ur fingers or nails.

I think that depends where you live. There’s canning supplies in every single store in my town. Gas stations, corner stores. But that’s what you get when you live in a farming community ♥️
