The thing is that this time exam was conducted at the height of the covid wave. So a lot of students who write the exam without much prep and those who were infected did not write the exam. The low participation falls on top of the timing of conducting the exam itself.

True , serious aspirants has definitely written GATE . Why will a person skip it if he is preparing for 1 year or more unless he is having COVID on the exam day itself which is unlikely. exam was also conducted last year , though covid was not at its peak but still it was there

No it’s not true. I wrote in the peak of covid wearing mask and sanitising even inside the hall during exam. 2022 and 2023 exam is after Covid and numbers have fallen. Quality of life is better in other country and students want that so they are not risking career by writing gate exams .

Also they were keep extending deadline for form application.this has been stretched for a month, which seldom happens. Maybe in general this colleges have began losing their luster, for masters

another reason i want to add, gate exam is now becoming more tough and unpredictable after the introduction of msqs. So many students(including me) are backing out from further preparation.

Bhaiya I am interested in research. Is research all about adding up new ideas to the existing thesis to enhance the quality of the thesis. please explain bhaiya. i had doubt for past 3 months. Could you explain what research means in layman terms Bhaiya

It's all about doing something new or modifying existing tools or features. It's not like what people think - very hard, takes lot of time. No, Research is not like that. It's easy but only if one has patience to find out solutions.

@@ManishMazumder Bhaiya ,Can we add new things in research. Like for example i am interested in autonomous vehicles, and already there is a research paper, so my job is to explore more about autonomous vehicles and add some features bhaiya. Am i right bhaiya?

Bhaiya , I was preparing GATE for only High paying placements in Top colleges(i m from tier 3). I was motived for that by you only , but now you are saying "if you have interest in research, then only give Gate" Now I m demotivate against Gate suggest me your thoughts.. I m good coder (can make off campus offer) but willing for High paying placements in tier 1 college WHAT SHOULD I DO? ? ?

Go for GATE bro as you are much interested. IITs are always a better option. I just highlighted few points which majority of the students are actually following. Very few are interested in GATE and IIT. And you are one of them. So keep preparing and go fetch your dream. As you set up your mind for tier 1 college it's better to go for it.

Now getting off campus placement is difficult also because of ression and lay offs. In COVID it is really easy because of company 's over hireing .

If you interested in software jobs , go for on campus placement If you interested in research, go for direct PhD from abroad . Because you are from tier 1 college , placement in product based company is easy , start coding . For research , do some project under university professor , then do intern in old IIT or top abroad universities . Then , try to publish papers if you can . Then apply for PhD or try for Ms in US or Germany . In Germany , tuition fees is zero .

Manish please check your knowledge before directly making a video..The decline was because of mess created by IIT KGP before Gate exam and Covid was another reason but the actual competition was same. If you still don't believe let's check the number of aspirants for the next year if everything will remains normal. and directly getting a job in product based company is not as easy as you are saying. Although I do agree jobs increased but that was for a period of time. If you see current scenario it is again same. Please have proper analysis before making a video ..your one video can change someone's life ..better to say wisely.

Hmm ..... You are right ....... getting a 12 lpa job is way more thougher than getting a rank under 300 in gate CSE . Actually , If anyone erning 12 lpa as a freshers , then he will be earning 20 lpa after 3 years . Then there are no need of writing gate for them . It makes gate less competitive . So , if you don't get any good product based company , then you may think about gate .

Agree with all your points, but I truly believe preparing and writing GATE in itself is a journey and if you clear it with a good rank and get into an IIT, that's again one hell of a great journey and we get a lot of experience. Now we see 100% placements even in the private colleges of West Bengal, the situation has completely changed and the mass hiring companies are still facing a lack of talent. The job scenario has completely changed in the past 2 years after the Pandemic. Personally, I believe if we are not just focused on the job, the options and our vision become long-term they widen, and if the situation allows everyone should at least try once to explore the options after doing 4 years of engineering. We are still young and once we get a job paying 14-15 LPA it might kill this enthusiasm for exploring beyond the job as we try to settle down with what we have. I have personally seen seniors setting down with a software engineer job even after getting an admit from one of the top technical universities and having good scholarships as well in Europe and US. That's really an opportunity missed. The way things are happening in the IT sector, it feels we can take up a job after rigorously learning a particular skill or niche or practicing the CS Fundamentals and DSA for 6 months to 1 year, but the option of higher studies, startup, research and contributing to something innovative is what we can ideally do in our 20s.

That isn't an opportunity missed , any software developer of top product based company can get PhD or ms admits from top 25 US , EU universities . If he receives the admit now , then he can do the same after 2 years . Now he should work for 2 years and find out what is good for him . Is he really interested in research ? If yes then in which specialisation ? Where he wants to work ? Is it industry or academic ? After getting those answer , one must choose post grad . Otherwise after doing post graduation , if he realised that it isn't for him , he wants to be a ias officer or want to be a investment banking (MBA) or want to be a SDE . Then it's a loss of 2 years and some amount of money . Then it's not a good idea to do a post graduation without having a interest for research in a particular field . Also a ug student can also contribute for society . What are you thinking , a software engineer don't contribute for society ? If a person is interested in SDE jobs and satisfied with his job , then why is he doing a pg ? Is he not contributed for our society?

Serious aspirants, those who prepared for 1 year or more have written Gate 2022 . Many tier 3 collg students just fill the form because they are asked to do so . Why won't a person not write GATE 22 ,CS if he has been preparing for 1 year or more . And every year there are person who is interested in placement ,not in GATE . Cracking on campus is much easier than cracking off campus. For off campus one's profile must be very good for a top product based company and also selection rate is less in off campus .

If you get any product based company with CTC 12 lpa and then if you have 2 work experience in the product based company ...... then switching in a faang company is also equally easy as getting a job in faang company through campus placement from top 5 IIT and IISc . Actually , 2 year work ex in a good MNC is equally helpful like the IIT tag and on campus placement , for securing a high paying job. .

@@arijitkar9434 it an every ending debate actually . But a degree from a premier institute (top IITs top IIITS ,top NITs, ) makes you stand out of the crowd . Cracking An off campus top product based job is comparatively difficult then cracking from premiere institute . Having a degree has it own advantage and opens many doors of opportunities

Actually I crack IIIT Bangalore CSE through JEE Main I don't see any student who have no interest in research but choosing m tech CSE from IIT or IISc after getting a job more than 10lpa. Just check in linkedin , there are very few number of students who are joining m tech from top IITs after getting good jobs . Actually those people are more interested in research . By the way maximum friends of mine are from tier 1 college including me . So , I don't know that much about the condition of tier 3 colleges .

If you were to choose today between direct off-campus placement with 12+ lpa base salary and studying in IITK for 2 yrs, getting the IIT tag, prestige and IIT experience and ALSO excellent placement, what would choose?? Would you sacrifice the IIT experience? Was the 2yrs in IIT really worth it?? Is the IIT dream not good enough motivation for GATE?? Of course bhai. IIT brand is something much bigger than anything else. I had chosen IIT because I was highly motivated for higher studies and placement. If that's the case then nothing can beat IITs. But in this video I just showed the exact reasons why the trend is actually shifting. I am not discouraging anyone from GATE. In fact I motivate them to do better. But after interacting with lots of juniors from various colleges I found out these facts that I discussed.

Of course bhai IIT is the main motivation for GATE Exam.. We can get the salary double the B.Tech fresher if we get into IIT or after 2 years we can definitely match or may be we can get more salary than B.tech students if we complete our M.Tech CSE from IIT or IISC..This is the fact that many of students failed to understand....

No...... B tech and m tech salary is almost same ....... And for same company , salary of b tech with 1 year work ex is greater than salary of freshers m tech students In tech industry , only experience and skills matter .
