Modric and Kroos and Marcelo complemented him greatly . The same can be said about Xavi and Iniesta for Messi. But Ronaldo doesn't have the same goal-creation/chances-creation prowess that Messi has. How many times has Messi won the MOTM without scoring? Compare that to the number of times that Ronaldo won MOTM without scoring a single goal , that's unheard of. Almost zilch.
