'03 Grevious is a big reason why I can't take the mini-series seriously. It's good and fun and a nice alternative look at the Clone Wars, but it's so vacuous at times. He's not much better than '08 Grevious.

I really hope that ARC was the same rocket launcher clone from the Battle of Coruscant who thought it was a good idea to use one to get Grevious off the side of an elevator.

The Lancer battalion had almost %100 casualties during the battle, only Obi wan survived, and the clones that did survive were probably assigned somewhere else

@@erikjan15585 well the name Battalion suggests that there were a large number of troops in it (under the assumption that they were officially a battalion, I think the names Legion and Battalion were thrown around interchangeable in one or two episodes of TCW and Rebels).

I think the 501st was referred to as "Anakin's Battalion" at the start of the Umbara arc but that was more likely the Battalion within the 501st Legion that Anakin directly commanded on the front (equivalent to Torrent Company) and I think Rex refers to it as the 501st Battalion in his first Rebels appearance.

Three things: 1.) Ah, the Battle of Munnilinst takes me back to watching those Chapters for the first time on Cartoon Networks Toonami. 2.) Why didn't we see more of those Orbital Defense Platforms? They seemed so cool. 3.) If you're looking for an early Clone Wars Battle to look at, how about the First Battle of Kamino depicted in the comics and the original Battlefront 1 Campaign.

I would think that they wouldn't argue that much. Both were more outside the box thinkers and disobeyed direct orders when they knew they were wrong. While Fordo did prefer to use overwhelming firepower, he would do as much as he could to protect his brothers. Though I can imagine Fordo picking up the droid head technique from Rex on an infiltration mission.

I'm a fanboy of Frodo, I mean Fordo. (Never gets old, like the Younglings) what we, regular or casual fans of Star Wars know about him, He was a the battle of Munnilist as the Captain of an ARC squad, then he was develop in a rescue Mission at Hypori, then at the defence of Coruscant with the invasion/Kidnapp of Chancellor.

10:26: Hypori, Mon Cala (the one shown in CW 2003) and even Tatooine, and, though not really battles, the duel at Yavin IV and the events at Nelvaan near the end of the war. Also, please do the Battle of Honoghr.

Republic Commando hadn't come out by the time this battle was aired, and the only love Commandos got was from the graphic novels. Delta Squad would deploy in 2005, which is when Commandos really became noticed by the community, because the only stories they appeared in prior portrayed them as expendable scrubs, if I recall. It doesn't help that Tartakovsky literally threw logic out the window when making this miniseries. This is the same show that has Grevious performing high-G manoeuvres in a multi-ton exoskeleton and Jedi performing God-like feats with ease, asking for consistency between Arc Troopers and Commandos is too much at this point. -also commandos performed covert missions away from battles, too, so yeah-

I believe the difference is that Commando squads are meant to be deployed deep behind enemy lines and remain there for extended periods of time (and preferably remain undetected) as they try to take out a target, normally being more surgical and precise, the multi clone task forces (and just ARC Troopers in general) were sent behind enemy lines to cause damage and take out key targets that would halt an invasion. Commandos and ARCs are fully capable of doing each other’s jobs and often their jobs are pretty similar, but Commandos are more stealth oriented and rely on squads and ARCs generally focus more direct battle and normally operate alone.

This was one of the first battles I actually saw. Interestingly, it was one of the early known points in which a character presumed dead would later be revealed alive. In the story arc, Ventress is presumed to have been killed by Anakin on Yavin 4, later stories would reveal that she survived the fall. I'm not sure if Dirge had a similar thing, or if his appearances after the story arc were just prequels to the battle, though.

Yes, Durge did a similar thing, which was even implied with his bodily liquids just flowing away after his "defeat" on Muunilinst. For more context, there's the Republic comics, some Clone Wars Adventures comics, and Obsession.

The battle of munalist only had 11 Acclimators and around 13-15 cis weapons platforms. Also given that about half the Acclimators were packed with fighters and the other half with gunships there couldn’t have been more than around 200 gunships in each Acclimator if it was packed over the normal load out and 250 or so v-19 fighters. So that’s around 1,100 gunships And 1,375 fighters. Pretty accurate to what we see in the actual show. Now if just 200 were carrieng atte That leaves 900 Laat/I full of 30 clones each but we see that’s not the case. Each gunship only offloads about 12 clones. So that would mean only 10,800 clone troopers were at the battle and prob 40-50 thousand droids. And 4-5 thousand droid fighters. Idk where ur getting 200 Acclimators and 3.2 million clones but it’s way off. The republic had only been making war ships for about 4 months witch is when this battle takes place. So yeah. They prob only had around 400- 600 active Acclimators at this point.

I don't get one thing. If they already taken Muunilist, then why don't they take Scipio next? Why waited until Dooku and Sidious to painted Clovis as a Separatist during the near end of the war to finally make a move? And by that, I mean why don't they did this a lot earlier?

Traditional animation beats CGI in almost every case, I would say. Of course, there are exceptions (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and The Mitchells vs. the Machines, for two).

Oh please, all the republic needed to do was send Obi-Wan, Anakin, Captain Fordo, a ton of weaponry, and an LAAT gunship. They would take Muunilist with ease (joke by the way for those who cannot understand jokes through text).

Seems like BS that the Republic won by such a landslide in such an important battle. Especially winning the space battle, seeing as the CIS has always had a far more polished and well structured Navy. Palpatine definitely pulled some strings here.

I don’t understand why you feel the need to claim that we didn’t know this stuff already. Seems to me like you just covered what was showed what’s on the screen + the banking clan background and some name drops. I enjoyed the video nonetheless but I don’t think you ever explained “why most captain fordo fans don’t actually know much about the battle of muunilinst” you just covered the events… nevertheless thx for the content.
