But another use of "native" seems to refer to one's DNA / race / ethnicity, regardless of place of birth. Combining both references results in terms like Hawaiian Texan, Hawaiian New Yorker, Hawaiian Californian, or Asian Hawaiian, Black Hawaiian, White Hawaiian, etc.

Teach them to invest. Teach them how to buy commercial property on DCR or replacement cost and to pool their resources together so that they can own property that appreciates. Then when there is significant equity (10 years probably) teach them how to refinance and take some of that equity off the table. They can then put some of that equity on a home. The real estate market in Hawaii will always be low supply high demand and you have the upper hand on the market as a local, especially in commercial where listings are often pocket and not on the mls.
