The price was about the same as a typical B'TWIN / DECATHLON entry-level bike (600 Euros). Not that they are bad... but I find it more interesting to ride something like this.

That bike went from being used by a pro to a commuter. It reminded me of how a horse can go from working to "out to pasture" where it becomes more of a pet that works occasionally. It now gets to have a good life and get ridden every day.

BMC SLC01 is a beauty. I have two of these - one exactly like yours and the other one is black with silver logo. Great job bringing the bike back to life. I also have two BMC SLX01. All with Campy drivetrain. Keeping it as long as I can ~

Nice man. I have those wheels. 100 anniversary Ksyrium. I'm gonna use them on by backup bike. An Aluminum with carbon fork "Concorde" Mystral 340. Will build it with DA 7800 groupset. Will be my bike for rainy days group/club ride. So I can spare my 928L 😁 with Ultegra and carbon tubular tires

I just bought a pair from eBay, love them. I can’t put up with carbon brake surface anymore.

A person who (does not) take care of his/her bike like that doesn´t deserve the title pro.

those carbon seat posts often fail when the carbon teeth wear and the saddle starts to top back sadly

That is quite a commuter bike! Nice video. One question. How do you know/ can yoube sure there aren't any cracks in the frame? That would frighten me off I think
@Velofil2 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot, cracks can be seen quite well and normally a carbon frame does not suddenly fall apart 😀

@@Velofil Thank you! But maybe you have a better (pro) sight than I. I crashed 4 years ago wiyh my Wilier and I didn't see anythin, till the mechanic showed me.
@embracenaturenow49623 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video. Just my 2 cents how come you don't keep the carbon water cages and used the money instead to buy a used decent campy front deraileur. Same you can save to get a pair of used pedals.

Thanks. sadly the carbon cages had cracks😕

This is a King Cage stainless steel bottle cage, not as light as the titanium version but much cheaper...

Sorry - no offence - but totally wrong frame size (really easy to see from the "position")...and is the first and most important thing (!).
@Velofil2 жыл бұрын
Come on, it's not completely wrong. This is a 57cm Frame and I'm a bit over 180cm. (6:00 The sloping is minimal)
@RicardoLRVolee2 жыл бұрын
@@Velofil (sorry for my bad English, Italy here) Ok, maybe not completely, but wrong. I think you know that a race frame had to be choose ever on the small side, I mean 1 cm smaller and never 1 bigger. Also the problem, the big problem is the leght of top tube (stem, saddle, knee angle etc ). So you ended with a poor tourist set up position on a race machine. But race compact frame (and their set up) are for athlets, not normal people. I raced semi-pro mtb and trainig at least 10000 km on road cyclyng per year (frame 55/56 for 1.82). Riki ps: my job professional (all life and still now) is Tennis Trainer, and is the same question, amateur want ever Pro racquet (and string) but obviously it's a very bad error.

Your is a beautyful video, a pleasure to watch, you build a great bike... I was not polite, I had to say before, sorry. I'm a trainer, a technician, I normally see thing from this point of view (about Sport), it's my life. Riki
