Sidewalk is for pedestrians and the shoulder of the road is for vehicles when they brake down. E bike should be for a private area not in public

E bike should be only done on a private path not public sidewalk and not on the shoulder of the road.

I'm old enough to remember when "electric bikes" were called "motorcycles", aka motorized bicycles. Just because it's got an electric motor instead of a gasoline motor doesn't make it not a motorcycle. Idiots near me taking their electric motorcycles on exercise paths and typically used at high speeds by idiotic teenagers too fat and lazy to use a pedal bike.

Granted I am in California, where we have much wider roads and fewer crazier intersections than what is depicted here, but as someone who started on an acoustic bike, and then got on a “class 2” ebike, and graduated to a “class 3” ebike, and am now looking at electric motorcycle scooters, I have to agree that a gradual approach and building up experience before adding speed is the right approach. At the higher end, these e-bikes ARE motorcycles. I never would have thought I’d be looking to buy a real motor bike, but at some point I realized that my ebike already was one, just without the security, suspension, and safety features required for a real DOT approved motor bike.

Saludos.

El cuadro ¿de qué material es? ¿cromoly o aluminio?

I truly cannot stand ebikes of any kind. So sick of all the "but my bad knees" and other pitiful excuses. These people have no business riding on public trails.

Just experienced the behavior of crazy e-bikers today. Went for a nice ride up the mountain pass and there is some constriction going on so only one lane is usable. Traffic lights on each end and just as a arrived there the light was red. Behind me arrive 2 idiots on e-bikes(not calling all e-bikers idiots... just these 2 specifically) and we all wait for the light to go green. Light goes green and i wait to let the cars through so i don't get in the way because one lane traffic goes for 400ish meters. The lady on the e-bike just shoots off disregarding it all. When cars pass i begin pedaling and move to the left a little. The other e-biker behind me who had a lorries width of road available to pass me... puts his bike on 100% power and shoots off like a motorcycle and goes around me on the left barely missing my front wheel and then has the audacity to yell at me and blame me for it. So i went off and let him have it... Called him names and commented on his piss poor awareness and the disregard of road etiquette... He then drove off as if nothing happened. And there are stories like these floating around everywhere. Road cyclist are usually considered the worst... But e-bikers are going to be on another level of cunts

Beautiful beast. Lovely rebuild with well chosen parts. the XTR & Ultra parts are perfect as is the new fork. Usually the QR lever should be on the non drive side but it's a matter of preference. A real head turner.

Great conversion great video but why doing DIY if the final cost is $$$$ ? should be rather $ or $$. Otherwise just like with cars the cost of buying new components separately is way more expensive than getting it altogether when buying an OEM bike. It's been proven times and again that cost of aftermarket/ separate components is extremely expensive. So yea thst looks nice, however in terms of vision I'd have found it more helpful to i.e. ahow how to recycle one or more used road bikes components and then perhaps a new gravel fork cause yes that's really needed to fit wider tyres or dosc breaks.

Here in UK we have ebike laws limiting the motor to 250w and 15.5mph. They are legal EAPCs. I agree with one poster who says you get idiots whichever mode of transport. The overriding thing is they do so without due care and attention to other road users. Often because they are just selfish and won’t be told otherwise. So don’t blame The ebike blame the riders who are selfish, ride too fast and without due care and attention.

I think the solution is to have a license for e-bike. e-bike is a transportation that have comparable speed to normal car and motorcycle. An uneducated person who are clueless of traffic rule that have access to something that are as fast as car and motorcycle is mildly dangerous

Less an ebike issue. Ebikes have made riding accessible to alot more people, so you're seeing an influx of new riders, and of who probably have NOT educated themselves on proper riding practices.

How was the problem of the small diameter of the steerer tube solved. I have a Pinnacle with a steel fork and the fork tube is diameter 25,4mm, one inch. The inner diameter of the steerer tube is 30,2mm. How can I fit a 1 1/8 inch = 28,6mm carbon fork. Are there special headsets? Looking for advise... Thanks + Regards, Gottfried
