Exactly! as for anyone who claim the war started in 1948 you guys really need to look into history. The two nations called for mutual reconciliation multiple times with the last UN agreement being as recent as 1993, tension only started to rise again in the mid 2010s due to increased surveillance and the building of the gaza wall from isreal as a response from the continuous Palestinian terrorism the decade leading to it

Israel has besieged Gaza for 15 years and everyone was silent. Israel occupied 75% of the Palestinian lands and displaced people from their homes, but everyone was silent. When the Palestinians responded, they defended themselves and their land. They became terrorists! I hope that you will experience the suffering that the Palestinian people have been experiencing for 76 years at the hands of the terrorist occupation.

… and they ran in 2006 as a moderate political party but changed after and have not allowed for democratic elections in the 18 years since. They also won in 2006 and have been strengthened because Israel propped them up the PLO (the group that were interred in a peace deal and land swaps ) would lose power.

Actually the UN drew a map, and divided. Jews said OK Arabs said NOPE KILL THE JEWS and lost A different line was drawn. Until 1967 no palestinian movement was present in the west bank nor Gaza, as they were under the direct control of Jordan and Egypt After 1967 suddenly such a movement was encouraged by the arab league... Weird. Why did the arab league not champion a palestinian homeland before 1967. And why did Egypt not want Gaza back when they also got the Sinai back? Think a bit on these facts and you will notice that the standard palestinian narrative is deceptive at best, fictional at worst.

Not to mention the most recent one, Camp David Summit, where they were offered 100% of The Gaza Strip and 99% of the West Bank and they still turned it down. It's strange. I've heard the "We're not defending Hamas, but..." kind of statements a lot lately. It's usually followed by a defense of Hamas. Even stranger when polling data shows a huge majority of the West Bank believes that what Hamas did on October 7 was a good thing. Gaza doesn't even hit 60% in support of it - this was from late last year if I recall. I don't know where I stand on the conflict. To be fair, I don't think most who talk about it have a position either - they pretend to because it's in the news. As a Filipino, from what I've seen, the Israeli government treats Palestine is the same way China treats the West Philippine Sea. They decided that they should control this area and if anyone speaks out against them, its because of discrimination and not any wrongdoings they've committed. Everyone keeps saying that Hamas should have expected this retaliation, but can't you argue the same thing against the Israeli government? After years of opressing and blockading millions of people, shouldn't they have expected that eventually some of them might fight back?

Yeah I would fight back if I'm in that situation like imagine living in open air concentration camp where basic necessities like food, water and electricities are being controlled by the more powerful group, everywhere you go will fill with the arm soldiers who could take you away whenever they want if they find you irritating them, and the settlers not all of them but mostly would become violent no matter you're a child or not and assault you, but you have nowhere to report the crimes. No one on your side, no safe place that you could go. You could get bomb anytime yet you still have to be in your home because it's the safest place.
