Reasons an iPod is still worth using over your phone: 1. No distractions, full focus on your music 2. Does not drain your phone's battery 3. Aux porttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt babyyy 4. Play music that isn't available on streaming services (there is a ton actually) 5. Useful for specific cases such as sports, speakers, car system (especially older cars), etc. I actually use my iPod classic plugged into the car via USB because the Bluetooth is so outdated a lot of functions like shuffle simply don't work. My old Mazda CX9's head unit picks up the iPod and lets me pick and play music from it directly off the touchscreen. 6. No ads, no worrying about internet connection, and the music on the device is yours forever. No monthly fee to pay! not exactly a benefit, but iPod classics to this day have a TON of modding capabilities. Custom shells, flash storage, gigantic batteries, bluetooth, usb-c, haptic engine (replaces clicker sounds with the iphone 7/8 home button feel), and a lot more.

The ipod touch allways feelt more like a "even more mini" ipad to me. I had a gen 4 when i was 13 years old and it was nice that i could use it to play all the ios games and use the apps without owning the much more expensive iphone.

When I was a kid and not allowed to have a phone, I was so happy the ipod existed. I’d bring it with me to school and people thought it was the 5C 😂

I think it would be cool if they released an 8th gen that looks exactly the same, new colors and a A16 chip or something lol. But it’s also cool that it’s now a retro product.
