A couple of people that I knew in that situation were physically abused by their parents and were used to abuse.

You commented on the varying situations of an abused and battered person….I have found these situations to be endlessly variable and feel unable to articulate why because of the diversity……..I have definitely lived with PTSD although it is hardly noticeable 30 years on…..although it is still there…..I left because he tried on two separate occasions to murder me and failed…..So I decided to leave, I said to myself…” I would rather leave and be murdered than staying and be murdered anyway “……All I had was prayer, I obviously got out with my life intact, how I did that I do not know…….My life is now wonderful however on a different, very healthy path than what I expected….My advice is say absolutely nothing to your abuser, do not inform them of your intent, get a sympathetic lawyer, serve the abuser with papers….Get the legals on side without the abuser knowing….The abuser must not know….

Such a tragic case. In Canada and the UK the "logistical control" you mentioned is called coercive control. An excellent summary, thank you.

I have a question, if my moms bf like tickles the back of my thigh or front or knee is that sexual abuse or assault. Cause I've talked about it to my counselor and they say it is he does it in front of my mom I've recently stopped giving him hugs bc of it I'm scared and I dont want to get in trouble for being wrong. He would also just put his forearm around my waist under my shirt he hasn't done it in awhile I'm almost 17 and I'm not sure if I'm overreacting. Pls give me your opinion 😶
