I really appreciate the warning in the beginning because as you said, MOST will misinterpret neutral/stoic demeanor as callousness. I'm NOT a researcher, but that emotional attitude is actually way more healthy & acquired through most especially THIS profession. IMO Research means gathering as many perspectives as possible even if it's questionable/problematic, and ANYTHING that deals with this line of crimes can be... very interesting to say the least. In other words, sometimes being TOO empathetic can be an obstacle in the wrong job. So thank you for showing said attitude & thank the Lord I'm not in it, I won't last a day LOL.

Female sex offenders are so under represented or researched. They do great harm and cause deep trauma to young boys who become SAs. Why is this truth not addressed? They are small group because men never talk about it.

What an absolutely disgusting title for pedo propaganda. Does this idiot really think we care about a married slut having sex with a man who still pretends his imaginary god friend is real? NO. NEVER did he attempt to offer the psychology of CATHOLICS who STATE on record that “POST PUBESCENT” is not considered child sexual abuse. When ASKED to define “POST PUBESCENTS” these CATHOLIC pedos state clearly “12 years old and older. Hmmmmmmm kinda like the HIGH SCHOOLERS YOU STARTED OFF WITH. ……. I wonder the guy who shot his 3 boys can environmental toxins, such as food, living near a toxic landfill, heavy metal build up in your system, fillings, implants, stress, etc. cause a mental break down. For myself I see a difference in my mental health since I started detoxing from environmental stress. I think there is more of a correlation with mental health especially with food than we are told.

I often fear that my father wants me dead he has all the characteristics of a narcissist he lacks empathy , he violates boundaries ,he loves being malicious ,making false accusations ,he acts like he can do no wrong ,he likes being a control freak ,he loves bullying ,gaslighting my reality , he's very self centered , he acts arogant , playing mind games , etc . I believe he's capable of murder !

My adopted mother, I got diagnosed 10 years after she passed away. There trauma bond is so strong that it can take years after they pass to question their behavior. I hate that all these horrible events happened to these people. And I believe that we have stuck our head in the sand for too long and this is the consequence of our parents and grandparents bad behavior. Maybe when Regan shutdown the facilities back in the 80s led to this fallout. Could be. Or maybe, people are finally feeling safe to come out and speak up and need help. The shame is being removed out of urgency to these serious behavioral problems that are hurting other innocent people. The sane. It’s not bad to hang out our dirty laundry like it used to be and people can’t afford therapy. All I really want to say is that I understand the feeling of being totally left out. My adopted mother took my dog to the pound behind my back and had him put down. Because she wanted to move into an apartment closer to her love interest. I always wondered why, about a lot of things. And it’s hard to admit to yourself that your parent was so distorted in their view of the world. There were so many consequences for my life because of this stranger. But I’m a fighter. And I believe that if you have a person in your life that ever harms you in any way, leave them and never look back. To me, the excuse of a mental disorder being allowed to harm the feelings, needs and future of a child is evils in our world. Because there’s no food in it and creates only negative in our environment. Any influence of a negative value onto another person life is evil when they can’t feel the pain of another person and it’s blacked out due to their disassociated state, it’s like the walking dead. Because I believe they are half dead. And that’s enough for me to see that it’s not good to perpetuate it. I wish all of you hear good for your future. Watch “Seize the Day” with Robin Williams. A 1986 movie about how a parent like this damages a child’s inner psyche. And always tell yourself, “I am Lovable”. No matter what anyone says or thinks. That’s is just an opinion I say above all others. We’ll fight for our sanity and no matter what, we all need to take this rash of insanity very seriously. We as a community need a solid foundation to be strong against it. It’s sneaky, and it will take us down if we can’t trust even our own families. God bless everybody here.

I’m going back to school this Fall at 31 years old to (hopefully) get my PhD. It’s been my dream since I was a teenager to become a licensed forensic psychologist, but unfortunately life had other plans for me in my 20’s most of which involved traumatic events. I got my certificate in Criminal Justice and ended up falling in love with the psychology side of it as opposed to law enforcement. Wish me luck.

Not all you hear is true about child molesters. One time is enough in prison. After release, after therapy, my daughter asked me if I would babysit her two 10 and 11 year Olds because she mad to go to a office meeting. I thought what do I do with two active children? So since I regretted what I did years ago, I, like most S.O.'s started going to church in prison, but not just go, but took it seriously. So, I told the grandkids, let's learn the 10 Commandments. Within less than a half hour, they were reciting them front ward and back ward, and learned why they were put on 2 tablets and not one. Later, they went home a was teaching their friends something that probably no one reading this who claim and good Christians can't even do.

Do people with schizophrenia who molest children know better? I was told to forgive a male family member that was allowed to abuse me for years . My mother and her family always dismissed me when I told them or downplayed it when he made comments about me in their presence … so I struggled with it internally and felt like I was wrong to feel hurt because he was schizophrenic.. but his disorder made him more aggressive and cruel towards me . I won’t go into details … I just want to know if he was aware that it was wrong bc he would always say he was not going to stop and laugh .,,just really taunted and ruined my childhood and I was honestly embarrassed and humiliated because my mom lived with him and he was doing it and expressing it openly . I can’t really describe how that affected me … bc I go inward and people just don’t seem to understand. It’s hard to live at times bc I don’t feel connected to anything

Always very interesting content. It seems the spectrum always has the inability or will to interpersonally empathize. And yes when they still have an Illusory reputation to protect, especially a cerebral type of narcissist, any information is used to hone the disorder for future use. Getting called out with zero consequences is just narcissisticsupply. . The biggest gift the psychology community could give society is how these conditions affect a person's character in everything they do. Everything done with a smile , more like a smirk, is transactional gaslighting. Any indication a target knows their men's rea is stone walled with a pattern interruption. A discard is done then another idealization. Repeat.

Thank you for this! I found out that a family member had sexually abused two of his young daughters and then years later i found out he had abused another daughter when she was young and his stepsister when she was young and he was a teenager. It was difficult for me to understand how he could be married and attracted to women yet by his actions and 4 known victims he seems like he would be a preferential pedophile, non-exclusive, because all of his victims were about 3-6 at the time when he molested them, which included o.c. I don't think treatment would work on him because he seems to be a serial offender who definitely should never be around prepubescent girls again...

Let's face it, Forensic Psychologists are not on par with let's say, oh, I don't know, maybe a formally trained Dr of Medicine. I have an example; Dr in Psychiatry is a medical professional that must be referred to as doctor. Psychologists are not formally trained in medicine, or the discipline of Psychiatric study. Yeah, big difference. Let's not loose this important distinction. Psychology is not a repeatable study, (can't take their resources, information, research and outcomes to repeatedly come to a empirical conclusion). yup.
