Bottom line is this. The way to win elections is to say loudly and clearly to the American people: We are going to create an economy and society that works for you, not just for billionaires.

So now you want government to tell you how much you can make. That is wrong. So if they can do that they will tell you what kind og house you can have how many houses u can have. How big or small your house can be. How many cars you can have and then they can lower the amount you can make. If i had a business and i made 10 million but i wanted to open up more stores i would not cause i make to much money so now i would not open stores and not hire more people so now less jobs and less jobs for the builders that would build my stores so alot of people lose in that case. I might even close stores so i would have less of a headache so now even more jobs lost. The role of government is not to limit how much you can make. Btw you would hurt the economy more than help it if u did this. Also it would only change things for the wors not for the better

By bs'ing the public as a "change" candidate, Obama set the stage for Trump. I've since learned to watch out for young aspirational candidates (that incudes JFK, Bill Clinton and Obama). They can be great with rhetoric and be inspirational, but when it comes to the nuts and bolts of policymaking you need an experienced politician who can negotiate, and threaten when necessary, i.e. FDR, Eisenhower, LBJ and Nixon. Decades later, we are still feeling the effects of their policies. I love JFK, but truthfully, except for the Peace Corps. none of his policies have survived until today. And Clinton's legacy is caving to the Republicans and gutting Glass-Steagall, unneeded welfare reform and giving us NAFTA and other horrible trade deals.

Plus it also allows us to use that money here where it be, which is here helping fix our issues stateside. Pulling funding makes this a economic issue rather than an ethical one and benefits all citizens whether or not they agree on the ethics of the situation. It sounds cold to do such a thing. As long as the USA sticks to the political system they know (basically a 2 party system) people are constantly robbed of choice, and the status quo continues. And because it is 2 parties, any progress is slowed to a grinding halt if either side wants to change something for the betterment of the lower and middle class income families of the USA. Both parties have too much affiliation with the billionaires who basically "buy" them to do their bidding, the tax cuts/breaks they get, are paid for by the lower and middle class income groups. If the USA wants to see actual change, you have to start there, with the party system as it is, dismantle it and rebuild with more political choices for the average American, force these smaller parties to form coalitions that demand them to work together, not against each other, that way the voice of the people carries more weight again. It used to be "representation for the people, by the people" but that has eroded away by those with fortunes that rival small countries. As the system is now, complete with large donors and super pacts, is literally legalized corruption, "We pay you, you stop that legislation that prevents us from doing as we please", sorry.. but that IS corruption, any way you spin it, and this is one of the few actual issues you can pull the "both sides" card on.

not true. The fact that it is conservative policies that help poor and lower income people is backed up by the IRS data. "Filers who earned $50,000 to $100,000 received a tax break of about 15 percent to 17 percent, and those earning $100,000 to $500,000 in adjusted gross income saw their personal income taxes cut by around 11 percent to 13 percent. By comparison, no income group with an AGI of at least $500,000 received an average tax cut exceeding 9 percent, and the average tax cut for brackets starting at $1 million was less than 6 percent. (For more detailed data, see my table published here.) That means most middle-income and working-class earners enjoyed a tax cut that was at least double the size of tax cuts received by households earning $1 million or more. What’s more, IRS data shows earners in higher income brackets contributed a bigger slice of the total income tax revenue pie following the passage of the tax reform law than they had in the previous year. In fact, every income bracket with filers earning $200,000 or more increased its tax burden in 2018 compared to 2017, and every income bracket with a top limit lower than $200,000 paid a smaller proportion of the total personal tax revenue collected. That means that Republicans’ tax reform law resulted in the tax code becoming slightly more progressive - the exact opposite of what Democrats have claimed over the past four years. The IRS data further shows that the tax reform law - which included a variety of business tax cuts, including a large reduction in the corporate income tax rate - spurred economic mobility. Every income bracket with a top level lower than $25,000 experienced a reduction in its number of filers, and every income bracket above $25,000 increased in size, with the biggest gains occurring in the brackets with a floor of at least $100,000. The fact is, Republicans’ 2017 tax reform law did exactly what was promised: It lowered taxes for all income groups, provided the greatest benefits for middle-income households, and spurred economic growth that helped reduce poverty and improve prosperity."

Conservatives just understand how the economy works way better than liberals. Laissez-faire government and Laissez-faire economics are counterintuitive ideas. Laffer Curve, peace through strength, and building a strong state on strong individuals given individual liberty and expecting individual responsibility, are counterintuitive ideas. Conservative ideas are counterintuitive. Liberalism is not an ideology. Liberalism is an inability to use reason and logic to understand how the counterintuitive nature of the universe works, so a person falls back on their emotions to reach a conclusion. That is why there are no successful liberal political talk radio shows. Liberals need moving pictures or hand puppets to trigger their emotions. There was a huge global study where they asked thousands of people hundreds of questions and grouped them by their answers. People that ranked high in conscientiousness also favored conservative policies. People that ranked low in conscientiousness also favored liberal policies. Meaning liberals have no intention of doing what is right or making sacrifices for the good of society. Liberals are twice as likely as conservatives to report having mental problems in some groups and report higher mental problems across the board. This mental instability and inability to still their mind long enough to understand how conservative policies help poor and working class people is the cause of their problem. If you look up the traits of narcissists, you will see they are exactly the same as liberal politicians and activists, because they are both driven in total by their hatred and emotions.

@josephsimmons9241 First and foremost, kicking illegals out and closing the border. I work construction. Illegals will work for far less money, and they keep wages down across the board. They are everywhere on a construction site. That's how most people don't see them or understand how many are in your city. If you're not surrounded by them every day at work, then you don't think about it. I haven't seen an American pour concrete or hang drywall in 15 years. That's a lot of Americans out of a job. Gas prices in America are lowest in the developed world, and have gone down significantly from their recent peak, although there's always seasonal variation. I'm sorry that your wages haven't gone up, but consumer confidence, and spending, are up significantly. As for a bill that's helped, I'd point first to the bipartisan infrastructure spending bill, which has created 670,000 new jobs through 2023.

The biggest issue that's effecting the Democrats is the fact that everything is costing more and more, because of the switch to electric vehicles. Then the boarder issue. My friend lost his job, because his company is hiring migrants. I feel sorry for those people but this is hurting Americans. I agree with pollution needs to be addressed, but at the same time, everything is pricing me out of more and more everyday. Car insurance went up so high and I don't have points or accidents, but yet my insurance keeps getting more expensive and I had to sell my truck and get a motorcycle. I had to eat cheaper and start taking vitamins, since I can't afford better food. I literally only have $130 for food a month. My rent keeps going up. I honestly don't know how I should vote this year. I always wanted kids, but I chose not to, because of all of this. I struggle with anxiety and depression because of all this. Then I see everyone running this country go on vacation and it pisses me off. As soon as I graduated high school, gas went up, I started working and I got pay decreased when I was over the road semi driving, and the office people got pay raises. Then I got a stomach issue that caused me to have doctor bills up to over $200,000 and I had to declare bankruptcy and I am struggling picking up the pieces. I lost my CDL because of my stomach condition, which my stomach condition is somewhat getting better and if I can work again, I am clueless what to do. I feel hopeless. I am 40 years old and doctor's, my government, CEO's running companies all stacked the cards against me and failed me. Before doctor's found my thyroid problem, they thought I was drug seeking. No one checked my thyroid and doctor's are wondering if I was born with a bad thyroid and I might be getting surgery to get it out. I lost everything in 2012 and doctor's and family laughed at me and friends either left me or used me because I had good days and bad days with my stomach and on my good days, I was used for side jobs, get told that I would be paid and gas reimbursed and I was left with a empty gas tank, and I worked for free. I am not going to kill myself, but I sometimes wish I was dead. I used to have alot of confidence, but now I feel like garbage. I feel even worse when I see everyone going on vacations and I haven't been on a vacation since shortly after I graduated from high school. In 2006 I was a semi driver and I always worked. After paying off my trucking school, I got a pay decrease. Fuel kept going up and my company gave me more and more pay decreases, until my stomach condition made it to where I was found a risk. I know I was safe, since I pulled over, when I started getting stomach pain and then vomiting starts a half hour to a hour after the pain starts. I never put anyone at risk, and I tried living a normal life for 8 years over the road semi driving, and then I was basically thrown away. I feel like a piece of garbage. I had a house that I was renting to own and I lost that. I now live in a trailer with a leaking roof, and right when I went to fix it, Covid happened and it costs to much to fix. I basically can't afford to live. I can't die and I'm forced to live miserable. My only out is to go for rides on my motorcycle or my bicycle. I am happy that my city is adding bike lanes so when my stomach is ok, I can get out, but it's still not a vacation. My motorcycle barely goes 50 MPH, so it's barely a motorcycle. It's just a 110cc Honda Navi, nothing special. I put a backpack in the lock box and that's how I go grocery shopping. It's better than nothing. It can definitely be worse. I wanted to keep working and be happy but I was forced into this messed up life. I was almost put in prison for driving a commercial vehicle, with having a stomach condition, back in 2012. I had a nervous breakdown from everything I had to fight and I haven't been the same since. I never really was depressed or worried about anything, but right now, I am having a anxiety attack, because I am remembering all of this. This life is destroying me and all the people running this country are going on vacations and making everything more expensive for us normal people. Then topics like this come up. If you were running for president, I would vote for you, but I don't know what to do, because either person is most likely won't care about what happens to us normal people. I live in Michigan, where I have seen dead batteries on electric vehicles, which I have a electric bike and when I got out from a doctor appointment, I had to pedal a heavy bike home, because my battery, which only lost 10 percent battery, was dead last winter, because of the cold. Cars have been no different. I really think batteries are not the answer to replace gasoline. I don't know what, but batteries don't hold up in the winter. All of this runs through my mind, almost daily. I catch myself wishing I was dead. I have to get my mind off all this. My ex fiance, who left me in 2012, when my life was falling apart, killed herself a few years ago, and I found out when her Uncle yelled at me, in a store, 2 Christmas's ago. My last 2 Christmas's, that all I thought about, my Ex fiance's blaming me for her suicide. 😢 My life has basically been turned upside down and it keeps getting worse. I am not the only one who is going through similar problems. My friend works 2 jobs and he lives with his mom, which both barely pay for the 1 vehicle they share and for the trailer and food. Something most definitely needs to change. I honestly think it's hopeless. I feel like I am just waiting for a illness to kill me or die from old age. I fear that 1 day I will be homeless and probably die and thrown in the garbage. I really don't care what happens to my body after I die, but I fear that's my future. No one will probably read all of this and because of my anxiety, I most likely have typos in this. I never had this problem until 2012. I have to read everything I write or type and fix everything that doesn't make sense or not written correctly, but I am not going to do that with this. I honestly don't want to read all this and make my anxiety worse. I don't have insurance to see a therapist and get meds to help, so I just deal with it. I have sleepless nights and sometimes, because of my stomach pain and vomiting, or just my anxiety, I am up for 2-4 days at a time but not all the time. Because I got on this topic, I most likely won't be able to sleep tonight. I will most likely be thinking about all the people running our country, sleeping in a expensive, comfortable bed, and I am sleeping on the same broken down bed that I bought in 2007, the last time I had a decent paycheck. 😞

People are starting to understand that Democrats have used non stop open immigration since 1967, high taxes, and over regulation to put slack into the labor market year after year. Which gives all the power to employers, driving down wages, and immigration drives up housing prices at the same time. To the point tens of millions of Americans don't have any money left over at the end of the month. And it's the low wages and lack of power at the bottom that allows the excesses at the top. Causing the wealth gap. Compare that to JFK style conservative policies of using low taxes, smaller government, deregulation, and less immigration to tighten up the labor market. Which gives power back to workers. Raises wages. Allows for advancement. Allows for mobility. Allows people with bad job records or few skills to get jobs. And gives people dignity. If Democrats actually cared about lower income people, and were capable of compassion and empathy, they would be Kennedy/Reagan conservatives. You can’t be for big government, big taxes and big bureaucracy and still be for the little guy.”.......Ronald Reagan The ever expanding power of the federal government, the absorption of many of the functions that states and cities once considered to be responsibilities of their own, must now be a source of concern to all those who believe as did the great patriot, Henry Grattan that: “Control over local affairs is the essence of liberty.” Commencement Address, University of Notre Dame, January 29, 1950.....John F.Kennedy

Bernie knows this but turned his back on working people. From Bernie....".If poverty is increasing and if wages are going down, I don’t know why we need millions of people to be coming into this country as guest workers who will work for lower wages than American workers and drive wages down even lower than they are right now,” Sanders said. ” … On one hand, you have large multinationals trying to shut down plants in America, move to China, and on the other hand, you have the service industry bringing in low-wage workers from abroad. The result is the same: Middle class gets shrunken, and wages go down.” “Corporate America is kind of using immigration reform as a means to continue their effort to lower wages in the United States of America,” Sanders said in 2013. Sanders told Vox in 2015...… "I think from a moral responsibility, we’ve got to work with the rest of the industrialized world to address the problems of international poverty, but you don’t do that by making people in this country even poorer.”

No, conservatives just understand how the economy works way better than liberals do.

The trump supporters I talk with (on east/west coasts) aren't so much concerned with college affordability but first and foremost with immigration related issues (border security and resources). They are also responding to social developments such as woke-ism, which are problematic to them and they see trump as a solution. They are also concerned (due to Pres. Biden's age) with the prospect of Kamala Harris being president (for what ever combo of reasons). There will always be the crazies, but I think we need to take a critical look at the conditions which attracted so many reasonable folks to trump. If he does not manage to get elected (and I think he has a good chance), there will surely be other characters with dictatorial tendencies right behind him in line to run in future elections. Unmistakably, since at least 2016 we have been one giant skinner box for our observant adversaries. (Ps, voted Bernie in both primaries due to his unassailable integrity and clear moral compass)

This guy is the most brilliant and transparent politician I've come across since Ron Paul. They both would have made great presidents. Time to stop looking if a candidate is in the democratic party or the republican party. Time to only care for the actual person that they are.

No, Bernie would've been a great president. Ron Paul would've been a nightmare. His son, Rand, defends the interests of Russia on a daily basis. You need to look into politics beyond just vibes and feels.

Trump has no policies, aside from tax cuts for the rich. His stances on immigration, on international trade, on NATO and military actions, are dog whistles based on superficial and inadequate understanding of the issues, designed primarily to instill fear in his supporters so they'll vote for him to "protect" them. His border wall was an incomplete joke. His revised North American free trade agreement was just the old NAFTA with a few tweaks. His trade war with China jacked up costs for numerous American manufacturers. His misleading stance on COVID to protect his cronies' profit margins led to thousands of unnecessary deaths. And his administration raised the American national debt to record levels.

I don't think Trump cares one way or the other. It's all about money and ego for him. Trump was pro-war with N. Korea when it suited potential money. Trump pro-peace during that weird "Kim is a tough guy a strong guy, but fair... People are saying that" phase because it suited his ego.

It's true the reality is that he doesn't care. But ask anywhere in the world, 4 years of Trump were a breather for us almost anywhere. And if he was president today, Ukraine would be in peace and in friendship with Russia. Otherwise I despise the guy, I'm a Marxist, he belongs in the Gulag.

@@john2g1 good lord. He's pushed the Ukraine proxy war and sent Boris Johnson to stop a peace negotiation 2 years ago. He's dropping bombs is Syria, Jordan and Yemen. He's funding genocide in Gaza that couldn't happen without his support. All while he's saber-rattling with Iran and China. Genocide Joe is a warmongering psychopath.
