The hardest part of OWL going away for me is loss of the memorial awards like the Alarm ROTY award. I'm hoping they can still be memorialized somehow moving forward

Good vid. Looking forward to the future of the tournament scene. My biggest concern about OWL dying is game balance. I feel like OWL kept the balance team somewhat in check. There's no way they could release the S9/Mauga patch during OWL without getting hard roasted by pros and hurting OWL legitimacy. They always had to patch keeping the pro scene in mind a little, even if it ended up being trash. Now that OWL is gone I'm concerned that patches are gonna be even more ridiculous.

Overwatch League had like 3 straight seasons of double shield and then ended the final season on a Bastion/Mei meta. The balance team didn't give a fuck how they ruined the esport lol

I’m just hoping for a competitive console scene (even on a small scale). It’d be so dope to see high level consolers go at it (and maybe get there myself one day)

I'm afraid the Saudi sportswashing will take the lead as tournament organisers and I won't support that shit. The game preaches diversity, KSA the exact opposite.

I feel like many who have attached themselves to the OW pro scene, can't talk about it either. They have to support it or be out of a job. I am all for Saudi people being involved with the pro scene (if they behave themselves), but I don't like the thought of it being owned by KSA.
