​@Alptraum He IS a content creator. Pretty sure he would like as many views as possible. I'm sure you would, if you made videos. If someone is too thick headed to apply these principles to their non-mage class, then there isn't a video anywhere that will help you.

Do think its worth having low rank spells as a warlock

@@paulymolly3616 I don't play a warlock so I'm not too sure. Probably rank 1 hellfire or that spell that rains fireballs down. Those can be used to get rogues and druids out of stealth

​@@frankrossi3524 a few reasons to use rank 1 spells on warlocks. Rank 1 corruption to spread dots to people in bgs or on to hunter pets to fish for nightfall procs without spending much mana or because they're likely to be dispelled. Again the same reason for rank 1 siphon life (baiting dispel). Curse of Recklessness, rank 1 - use it on reflectors to give yourself fear protection but without the high armor reduction/mana cost and also rank 1 when you're fear cycling a mob in pve (max rank for raiding). You might use drain soul rank 1 for getting soul shards (again, mana cost) and as you said - rank 1 of rain of fire for getting shit out of stealth. Otherwise its pretty much max rank everything.

On top of what Zach mentioned, rank also doesn't matter for diminishing returns. Only thing that matters in PvP is the PvP duration and how many times you've already CC'ed them. Since Rank 1 duration > PvP Duration, in PvP, anything above Rank 1 is just a waste of mana.

@Zach Hawkins Thanks. It never ceases to amaze me that there's akways something more to learn. I was a druid mostly in vanilla..but I guess rank 1 roots would have had the same time/resist mechanic that a rank one nova would have.

scorch when they have low health and a wand wont cut it. very very rarely. arcane missles when they are going to break LoS soon and you dont want to chase. again, very rarely. these are super situational moves and you wont use them in 99% of fights.

This is true. But for most cases, it doesn't matter. Frost Nova will always break on a Max rank Frostbolt, no matter which rank of Frost Nova you use. So since you're just using it to get away and set up a Shatter combo, no reason to waste mana when it will be broken the very first time you deal damage, anyway. It's just one of those things that is different in theory, but in practice, you will ALWAYS break Frost Nova with your first damaging spell. If you are somehow dealing less damage while they are in Frost Nova, you're doing something wrong. There is one small exception to this, and it's group PvP with classes that have DoTs. If you are PvPing with a Druid friend who has a Moonfire up on a Rogue, then yes, you want a higher rank to hold him in place for longer. Frequently, though, communication between players who are PvPing together can prevent even a Rank 1 Frost Nova from breaking prematurely, anyway.

You can't cast lower rank because they get replaced. There would be no point in casting them because they cost the same and are all instant anyway.

That is not true

No bc at that point you might as well use rank 1 frostbolt it's the same cast time plus you would apply a slow, also if you're using improved frostbolt the cast time would actually be shorter, only 1 second+slow as opposed to 1.5 seconds.

With the Improved Scorch talent it is also cast in the regular fire dps rotation. Other then that it's still pretty good in PvP for the reasons KK C mentioned.

There are tons of keybinds videos for WoW, cdew has a pretty good one But it all comes down to most used spells = ez to reach keys Less frequently used = less comfortable Fairly used cds/spells = slowest hotkeys Some clever use of modifiers are good to know tho, like sheep on T for example, have shift + T be for focus/mouseover Some do basic rotation spells on 1234 + option to put more on shift+1234 Movement and important cds on q e r c x Put less frequently used cds/items shift/ctrl qercx Portals, buffs, consumeables, mou nt, rezz, etc on ctrl 1234 Just an example, there are different common styles but people will always tell you to use what works for you. Pro tipp is to categories your spells tho so you can use basically the same hotkeys for every class For example gap closer always on E Cc always on .... Dmg on ... Etc

You use everything max rank for warlock.
