The joy you're feeling as a recon driver taking out a garry is about half as powerful as the table flipping rage the SL on the other team is feeling because they finally got some narbo to build supplies so they could build that garry.

As an infantry player: I do enjoy the flanks, the tools given to achieve those flanks, and the responsibilities of playing infantry/Officer. What I don't enjoy is doing all of those things alone lol. Working as a team makes this game better. If only the majority of players knew that. :(

I have the sneaking suspicion that a venn-diagram of people who want to build garries and the people who watch Wild Bill's videos would pretty much look like a full circle. Meanwhile the infantry that rushes into everywhere and get angry when the point behind them gets lost, are in a different circle entirely. Sadly.

i played a game with the puma just after U8 came out with my bud, probably the most fun match ive had in a month! we managed to take down an AT gun, Sherman jumbo and supply truck and about 2 squads of infantry in 1 life. seriously underrated vehicles!

"than a.....Fart", man that had me laughing like a mad man. Again your eye for finding the perfect clip for the perfect situation is a wonder to behold.

I had a game last night with a really good SL. I was the support and we build the garrison on the first point and then on the middle point when the team had captured it. After that we went strait back to the first point to defend the garrison against a enemy recon team. Soon after the garrison at the middle point got destroyed and we lost the middle. The whole team could now only spawn on the one garrison we where defending. To keep it short. My team lost after 25 min and we had a total of 6 garrisons in that game. Me or my SL where involved in building 5 of them. The whole time my SL was slowly going insane from the complaining over coms from the other SL's for not having more garrisons on the map. I only saw the supply truck in the beging of the game for the middle point rush. I don't think it got used much after that. And don't get me started on resource nodes. We can now build a total of 12, but on average I only see 3 in the first zone. By an engineer who's done his job and doesn't want to go back and sit there for 2 minutes to dismantle his old nodes to move them to a better zone and wait for f * king resupply again. The developers should definitely change it so that as an engineer you can delete your own blueprints and buildings in 10 seconds so you can put them in a more useful place when you want.

Great vid as always! Took me a while to figure out that grenades don´t work on garris anymore thought of it as a bug in the beginning :D So I found myself playing a lot more AT class since Update 8 as they can also shoot garris. In general I like the new sounds and performance of the update but the whole meta feels not good.

Hahaha, brilliant clips, so funny. I completely agree with your analysis on forcing vs incentivizing. Simple yet effective solution: Spawn limit on both OPs as well as garrisons. I still think they should be allowed to be placed anywhere though, I don't like the artificial boundary they call a frontline at the moment.

At this point I'm almost ready to give up on public play because although I enjoy teaching new players from time to time I don't like spending 3hrs telling people the same shit over and over again. Also the front line system with the addition of the fortifications makes me worry we're just going to end up with attrition battles worse than WW1 I quite like the vehicles as someone who usually plays commander or SL but as someone who enjoys the team play and communications aspect a lot the many many in game Comms bugs have almost stopped me playing entirely

I stopped playing HLL a while back, I am solely here for the memes these days. I get your problems with Squad and PS, but I prefer how they feel, besides I gave up long ago on the SLing, I like my hair. Gotta say though I been ticking about in Squad since pre-steam days the only enjoyment I really get post 1.0 is with the Squad Ops fellas, the new game mode they've added is coming along quite nicely. Keep up the videos and I'll keep liking em and hopefully I'll see you next week, we'll go for that pint, see my brother.

I see more and more new people joining the game, without having any clue on what their role is supposed to do. So (sometimes) veterans tell them on what to do. I know the devs dont want to make a tutorial level duo to it "instantly being outdated" with new features - but they cant just pass that job on to us veterans all the time. Make a little training course, let them test the guns - heck, why not give them the Post Script Training range with shield to read? They could even link their infos to the HLLTC (Training Camp) guys at this point...would be more helpful than hoping that new players find boring blocks of text, hidden in the game menu. People need to learn the mechanics and the necessities this game has from the very beginning. Else, they just "grow up" to the current meta of "not giving a sh*t" and "have other people care about that garrison thing". The server chats are getting more and more toxic, while I see less and less actual teamwork OUTSIDE their squad. Often I keep running around as a support: "Hey, could you build a garrison please? we have none!" after dropping my supplies. And then - not always, but more and more often - people either keep walking or look at me....and then keep walking. I also stopped doing the HLL fan news vids, since the briefings dont really contain any actual content and become more vague every week. They also seem to lack any kind of check before being posted, with not only mistakes in writing, but also whole passages sometimes missing or being wrongly formatted. This of course isn't really a "serious" problem, but it shows a certain lack of quality control when it comes to actual interaction with what the community wants and how it is being presented towards them.

An excellent critique on the game that only seems to get praise. I've recently discovered logistics and how easy it is to basically farm xp as an engineer. I always offer to go support or engineer and build nodes or drop supplies. It's painful to be a squad lead and have to ask for this stuff and get silence most of the time. You're 100% correct, logistics needs more incentivization. The xp is not enough and frankly only good at first. I'm going recon next game

Not once have I ever heard people running out of spawn saying " I can't wait to build nodes" . Its all " lets kill the enemy" and also hate the CoD vs MILSIM comments. Just making daft excuses.

Not really topic of the video but what ever, u talk about that pretty often anyway - tbh garrisons placed in enemy teritory having limited players spawning at once or limited waves (like airheads but more) would be a really good fix. Always they can just allow building garrisons in the first line (E, F, G etc) of enemy teritory or anywhere in neutral teritory, which would fix early game on some maps where point is closer to one faction than the other. And ninja-garrisons would not be an issue too.

Interesting. My squad will usually build garries but generally sparingly because we worry people will sook about having too many or it might mess up their master plan. Spamming them is something I rarely see but I know of a few games when it's made our defence pretty epic. Half the issue is salty ass squad leaders complaining so much we are apprehensive about doing anything like that in the first place. Going to start spamming them like a massive logistics Chad from now on. Recon looked great fun too.

I had a really frustrating experience as a commander recently which was basically the same thing the commander from your Foy game went through. I was playing in the Odd Company UK server and we had no commander, so I hopped in to try and make a difference. Our team had next to no comms, no garrisons, and no nodes. I used the supply truck and supply drops to build 4 garrisons and set up a solid spawn network so we stopped losing ground. But I had this absolute idiot in charge of Able Squad who kept harassing me for Bombing Runs despite the fact that we had NO MUNITIONS. I explained it to him multiple times that I need nodes to do that stuff but he was as dense as a brick wall and would reply with "...so you're not gonna do a bombing run for me?". Again, I explained that I needed nodes, still no one built any. A friend joined and I had him build me some. Great, right? Wrong. I had 2 guys in the back spamming arty and eating up my munitions, I had to go back to spawn and ask them to leave, which they did after a while. Meanwhile, Able leader was still harassing me about bombing runs and when I said I had no munitions he started accusing ME of wasting resources. I again explained as clearly and slowly as possible the relationship between nodes and abilities, again falling on dense ears. Eventually, a guy was in arty again and wasted all my resources. I asked him 3 times to get off but he kept shooting, so I TK'd him (Of course I was wrong to do so, but the circumstances let my frustration get the best of me) at which point I was again accused of wasting resources and promptly kicked and given a 2 hour ban.

I agree to some Point with you but not in the Point of suport players and the Lack of them. Maiby its because i Play on german Servers but on them there are lots of suprot and Logistik Players and its a lot of fun to Play with them and some times even as one myself. Ounly in one Match from my 103 h experience we played witout any suport.

I do logistics every game because literally no one does it. I’ve played games were I built 16 garrisons and 2 full sets of nodes. Why. And you know what’s great, the next server I join has no nodes and 1 garrison on the mid strong point.

lol they need to disable kick when the player they are trying to kick is actually doing work, i was in a game and got commander role and my name is no mic and people started voting me out while i was building garrison dropping supply drops and spawning them tanks 2 hours later came back to that same server vs the same guys that talked sht to me that time and well.. we won 3 games in a row before they disappear on the other team

i am an officer and i told the officers chat what i meant , they ended up owners of the server/admin kicked me . LOL

Why on Earth did anyone think grenade and arty garrison destruction was OP? These games are already walking simulators, now they're fucking HIDING sims, too?

i hate poeple who have chance to build garrison they stand next to fucking suplies and didnt build garrisons. I must fucking run from HQ to build 1000m garrison but we loose meantime.

Really not a fan of this magical "camera" exposing enemy assets.
