Resident Evil 1.5 is more like a parallel universe Resident Evil in my opinion. Definitely I would like to play it one day. If it will ever be released.

I want Resident Evil 3.5 because I like the disturbing scenes that Leon has to deal with and to know what's really going on of who's the real enemy behind the whole thing.

I think a couple of people out there still have the missing 80% version of RE 1.5 which hasn't been leaked yet , we only have the 40% Build so far , maybe one day we will get to play the 80% version which had more content and voice acting and less bugs. I never thought I would be able to play 1.5 ever , it was one of the best days ever actually finding out 1.5 got leaked and I downloaded it and it actually worked , just amazing. So happy they gave Claire the Elza Walker outfit in the remake.

Resident 2 Remake was terrifying and realistic I loved it so much.

When I was a kid playing RE2, my imagination always ran wild walking through the rooms of the police station. I always wondered what had happened in the room, who is that dead guy hunched over that table in the beginning of the game when you are running through the city right before the bus. A 1.5 would have been an amazing dlc with the ps1 graphics. Only time will tell if we ever get anymore information about 1.5

I am pretty sure they scrapped 1.5 for a good reason, and definitely, from what I have seen of the 1.5 videos out there, the original RE2 seems a lot better game. I am more interested in a RE3 remake or a Revelations 3.

It would be amazing if Capcom finished this game, exchanged Leon with a different character and rewrote the story so it could fit into the original trilogy. This whole story could for example take place in a different place of Raccoon City in a sub-office of the RPD or sth like that. Man, that would be amazing. They also should release it in the existent PSX graphics instead of remaking it. i want to feel 13 again :D The graphics and the overall aesthetics of the original trilogy is beloved by fans of the original trilogy!

The prototype of RE2 looked cool,I remember reading about it in a playstation magazine back in the 90s. I feel like Capcom will never release something they scrapped over 20 years ago because they were unhappy with it. While a DLC or a behind the scenes look would be nice I wouldn't count on it.

Always remember feeling disappointed and and underwhelmed when I played RE2 ,as I was a massive fan of the original and remember spending hours pouring over the preview shots and artwork of RE1.5 in magazines- I still wish we had gotten 1.5 the monster design just seems so much original and nasty

Golgotha is not a concept which was scrapped in the final version of the game. In fact, G in G Virus means just that, Golgotha. This time, however, they gave a storyline as to who would become a Golgotha creature. With respect to the rest of the video, I doubt we’ll see 1.5 because they are working on other titles. As far as RE2 Remake, the reason it gets criticized is because of its realism and I disagree completely with the critics of the remake. RE2 remake is my favorite in the series followed by the original RE2.

I would love getting the classics updated, I love the remakes but prefer the classics as I played them as a child growing up.

I think that a RE 1.5 could work if they changed the plot, making it a separate story. Have it follow RPD officers from a different precinct. You can introduce Eliza Walker and create a new character that replaces Leon.

You make a good point about the background stills but those ones from the streets you featured are actually used, just not in the retail product. They're alternate shots used in the trial demo, the one that uses a different route, cuts most the street section out and had all the puzzle elements removed. You enter the area via the end of the alleyway outside the back of Kendo's gun shop, in the final game it's blocked by a van. Normally in the retail version a bus would be in the way of where the camera is facing but you can see the end of the alley instead. :)

My answer is simple. The more classic RE the better. Sure we can all admit that the finished version of RE2 is probably the superior version. I'd still love to play 1.5 (as well as basically every canceled game whether it was just and idea or it actually reached development). The series means a lot to me as I know it means a lot to all of you guys as well. And in a world of finite Resident Evil games. I will always dream that we will get to experience these games that never got finished and will continue to be excited for whats to come.

I agree with everything you said.. even tho I do love the remakes.. I would still love to see remasters of RE1, RE1.5, RE2 and RE3. And if they want to make a RE3.5 I would definitely buy it.. I love remakes but not when they dont stay true to the original. This is the right time for this. Other companies have been making pixel games for the past 3 years. How did the characters got here, what they were about to face, etc. I'd like to know what's up with Marvin all healthy and ready to go, same for Kendo, "Linda" and Elza most of all. In the R2make I was disappointed not to see canon nods to Elza, one would have been extremely simple : why can't the person talking to Claire on the phone at the beginning be Elza? Wouldn't add to much to the story, but that'd be a nice wink to the fans... And we get to how we could have a what if scenario : what if Claire stayed and Elza went for some reason? The battle damage was probably removed because of memory constraints. Enemies were probably removed because while cool looking they were uninteresting to actually fight (Half-Life 2's Hydra is a good example of this). The police station was changed because the director of the first game found it's design uninteresting (it also had WAY too much blue lighting) but I think the story was mostly the same (each player character was originally meant to have their own final boss fight, but that was changed into the A/B scenarios in the final game, which is pretty similar). As for the zombies originally they were going to be less detailed but have more on-screen, but it was decided to make them more detailed and have less on-screen.

I like the SECOND ORIGINAL Resident Evil 2 with it's zapping mechanic because of how both Leon's and Claire's story are happening at the same time. The Remake didn't even take it a step further. It ended up feeling off. It's not clear who encounter which Version of William or how Annette dies depending if you choose Leon or Claire first! 😟

For a very long time i hoped that Capcom would release RE 1.5, that it was kept locked away in some corporate building dungeon. But honestly, i believe Capcom doesn't even have the game - or even it source code, for that matter - anymore. It's nothing new that companies often loses source codes of the old games, and we are talking about successful games such as Square's Final Fantasy 8 here. Now, imagine a game that was labeled as a failure by their own creators - japanese creators, so obsessed with perfection and that despite any kind of failure at all - to the point that it was scrapped after being almost finished, delaying the release of the game in one year. A game that Hideki Kamiya himself hates and even said the phrase “Honestly, no one needs to play through such a bad game”, discouraging the people that are trying to restore it out of shame for his own failure. Now, if that's not enough, think about the hardware. All the Hard Drives, floppy discs, CD-Rs and such from the 90's that should be cared or backed-up constantly until today, for the sole purpose of saving a piece of gaming history that again, was deemed as garbage by it's own creators and never saw the light of day. We must remember that the only reason why we have the 1.5 build around today is because the one guy that had the original 40% broken build CD (that goes by the alias of "The Curator") lost it to disc rot, and all he had left was a backup image in his own hard drive and he saw a chance to score a few thousand dollars with it before it was too late. What's the chances that any eventual copies that Capcom might had of those discs didn't suffered the same dark fate? Let's be real here, the old computers that had any traces of RE 1.5 data probably ended in the trash bin, most likely with the game still inside. I believe that if we had the same resources that we have today (like omnipresent internet for example) two decades ago, we could had better chances finding any working builds of RE 1.5. being it the 40% or the 80%. But in 2020, it is a bit too much to expect that there is another RE 1.5 build out there except the ones we have now, let alone one in Capcom's hands. I would love to be proven wrong, however. Just don't keep any hope on that matter. The quality difference of the backgrounds of 1.5 and 2 is night and day. Re2 backgrounds are detailed and imaginative. Many of 1.5 backgrounds are just blue blocks. There is less coherent story and progression and character models are shit. I do agree that it was dumb of Capcom to cut innovative features and enemies from 1.5

Crapcom will never shine the light on RE 1.5. They are not listening to us gamers anymore. That means we should STOP buying Crapcom games until they start listening to our demands.

I would also like to see a game made out of the original concept for resident evil 2, where it took place at the destroyed Spencer Mansion, with new monsters having been released from a different level of the lab. The problem with this though is that Chris/Jill unlocked every single door to unlock in the mansion and solved all the puzzles, so there really wouldn't be much they could add to the map, unless they just made this the start of the game, which would then lead you out to the wilderness of the Arklay Mountains.

It's weird they made Ghost Survivors but I wish they a backstory about how Ada survived that fall in the remake. I mean in the original she get thrown at a control panel by Mr. X which I understand how she survived that leads me to question if she drop in water or did she landed on top of William squishy final form but he too busy looking for the others to notice Ada.

I really liked Leon's casual look in 1.5. Also I love that there is alot of blue lighting used in 1.5. Really mixes well with the modern precinct look. Also according to old magazines and the wiki, Leon was apparently described as a fitness finatic.

It'll take place during and after Resident Evil 6. I'd have some canceled enemies, and features from both 1.5 & 3.5 (original RE4 of course). Elza Walker can then be introduced and Jill can be shown to what she was up to during Resident Evil 6.

You know we know a lot about the Raccoon City incident but at the same time know so little. I understand you mean about your imagination running wild, sometimes the little things are the most important.

You forgot to mention Team IGAS' attempt at restoring the game. They didn't mod RE2, they got access to an actual early build (not the fabled, almost-finished one, sadly) and went on from there. I did play it and it's a nice experience, although most cutscenes are missing, some others are randomly triggered and none of the puzzles works. Still, I'd love to play a finalized version. I'd very much prefer Capcom to release it, but I don't think they'll ever will: the closest they got to acknowledge this lost game was adding the Elza Walker costume in the remake of RE2...as well as incorporating several locations (with some tweaks) from the canceled entry: the RPD basement (parking lot\prison\shooting range\power room etc.) in the remake is straight from 1.5. I still don't get why they took this radical approach and re-did everything: I love RE2 and it definitely looks better, graphic-wise, but 1.5 has a darker tone and I love the fact most of the environments and puzzles were supposed to be realistic instead of rehashing the whole haunted house shtick from RE1.

Imagine if they remade 1.5 in REmake style? and included all the scrapped content from both RE2 AND 1.5. Also by REmake style I mean the RE1 remake I mean a prototype 1.5 would be good too they have so much cut content from their early games they could make games for years just on that cut content alone.

Gemini is working on it slowly behind the scenes in his spare time.... if you search in youtube Gemini Resident evil you can see he knows what he's doing and releases videos of re2 mods all the time. He used to upload progress of 1.5 but stopped because he's afraid of Capcom shutting it down... but it IS still coming 1 day... we just have to be patient...

There was a team called IGAS...I think working to complete 1.5 but just randomly quit. If they did finished I would've downloaded it and be the first to do a Let's Play on it.
