An animated explanation to “Why did this happen?” When you move up to larger resin 3d prints, you also start seeing failures. There’s no blanket answer for all print failures. But in this video I explore a few reasons why resin 3d prints sometimes fail. And hopefully show you how you can get better results.
This video includes over 10 minutes of animated segments and those took forever to finish.
Hope you enjoy it!

Some of my normal supplies. These are affiliate links and help support my channel:
Food trays that I put in front of my printer to catch parts on. These are ridgid and therefore a little better at holding liquid and spills than the ones in my resin handling video: amzn.to/3lo3bQK

I know someone has already asked us somewhere, but why don’t you just turn the T upside down. Then you don’t need supports at all.

I've never had a problem with spacial reasoning (how many hours playing Fighter simulaters??? I have no clue). But if you're printing on an SLA printer and you have trouble seeing how the supports work in your mind... simple solution...Turn your build plate over. THAT'S how it will print (My wife who has spacial reasoning mental blocks it seems, has to do this).

A well-done presentation.Probably one of the most professional videos I've seen from the 3D printing community.

You didn't explain why you have to tilt a perfectly supported rectangle at 30 degrees. It's not apparent. It just seems like the long side would be more than enough support, so I don't get it

Okay I’m so confused. I have a object I’m trying to print on my elegoo Saturn but it keeps sticking to the FEP and breaking off and ruining the print. This has occurred 4 times and I have no idea how to fix it. I have all the supports but it just will not stop sticking

Iam not using anti-aliasing.....I have tried exposure times from 2.5 to 7 and my bottom exposure time is from 30-33....my bottom layer count is 8.0 and my layer height is .50.....I have checked my build plate and the machine for level and I am right on the money....my print orientaion is tilted back about 30 degrees and tilted sideways at 15 degrees.........what the hell am I doing wrong ?

As a SLA noob, this video is amazingly helpful. As a motion animator myself, I know the time it takes to make even simple animations like that. Well done, like and subscribed!

Hello first of all thanks for this amazing content. I am not sure that can you reply this comment but I have a problem. You explained the FEP snap but every cycle on my prints I hear that voice and I can see the wave after print separate from the FEP if the print have large area. I cant solve the problem with exposure time and Z calibration. Is this a problem that can tear the FEP? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for this. I have a ton of experience with FDM and this was exactly the high density informative content that I was looking for, focused on the differences and what's happening behind the scenes of a failure. Now I'm off to print some more!

Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to create this. As a noob who only ordered his printer today, this addressed basically all of the questions I had. Incredibly clear and useful examples too. Amazing job!

This is still one of the best videos out there for beginners trying to wrap their heads around resin printing. I watched this a long while ago before I even had a printer and it gave me a huge boost in understanding right out of the gate. Thank you thank you thank you
