“A really well made fake” is a really interesting idea because the person making the faux is invested in making a good product that lives up to the idea of ‘designer’ while the actual designer bag can be of lower quality because it coasts on the badge put on it.

If it’s Chanel yes. If it’s Delvoux no also the fakes are made in sweatshops and the people are tortured for a purse. While I know the other companies don’t treat their artisans well anymore, it is still way better than sweatshop conditions.

In which case they should buy well made products and forgo the label. That’s the key, they want to still flaunt and keep up appearances. If I had that kind of money I’d get so many bespoke items from skilled and experienced tradespeople.

I know a woman who is very wealthy and has worn a beautiful diamond necklace for years, and people are always complimenting her on it. When we traveled out of the country, she still wore it without fear of it being stolen because it's not real. She's worn it for over 30 years! It's a very nice fake.

I love mid-range bags like the higher-end styles of Coach, Kate Spade, and Michael Kors. The quality is high, designs are stylish, and the price points make it possible to collect many styles and looks for my wardrobe.

Nah not the same at all. My Rolex and ap watches I can resell for more than I paid for them a couple years ago. (Have to find/buy the right pieces though) I get to enjoy the watch and when I’m ready and if I want to I can sell it and make Money on it. On of the only wearables that I would consider in some circumstances a decent asset.

Yes, they are saving money, but it was never about that. They felt the need for the designer bag to fit a social level or the image of the "rich woman" without having to pay in full for it. It's a double standard, but when lower-income women do the same, they will be redeculed for it, and let's be clear: a fake item is still fake, and you can get charged for it legally. I have heard many stories of fake designer items being pulled at costoms or, worse, at airports. As appealing as it is, people should get things within their means; otherwise, this double standard problem is only going to get worse.

It’s the design they are going for. Designer brands are overrated and overpriced. I don’t feel guilty buying the fakes haha but I will also minimise that sort of purchase and only buy a fake bag when I really really love it. So far I haven’t though.

I used to feel the same at you do because typically if I like a brand it’s because they consistently produce a style and quality of bag that I like. But more often than not I was wasting money by being loyal to high end brands when I can find the same quality, style, and sometimes more aesthetically pleasing items at a fraction of the price. I’m beyond buying handbags to flex.

Buying fake stuff that looks “real” to show an image of you having money. To flex and show off for people who do not care about you. And to fit in with the social norm of the youth (because they seem to value expensive and flashy things compared to the older generation) is not a flex! It’s a huge L! Buying fakes and justifying it by saying “I’m saving money” is also an L! You’re actually wasting money. Also… if you can’t afford the real thing then do not worry about the item at all! You don’t need it. I know people who have ALOT of money! And they buy fake items that look real and sell it to suckers for a profit! They don’t wear it, either they have the real thing or they personally don’t care about fashion items.

Some very high end bags are actually investment pieces for people who actually care about bags. I understand if you keep the real bags at home and use the fake ones in public because they go through damage (tear & use). I think when you didn't grow up with money and you know the value of it it's like a waste to spend all of that on just a bag 😅 This is what smart people do when they're stuck between a rock and a hard place you got the status because of the money but then you try to keep up with the whole persona😊😊😊 And a fake bag is still a bad cloth metal okay😂😂😂 I believe they make the bags absurdly expensive so that the super Rich can have bragging rights not because it's actually worth that😅 imaginary value😂 I had a really nice lip gloss that I bought for $14 but then an old friend of mine went and bought the $80 lip gloss, 😮 lip gloss can only do so much😂😂😂
