That‘s a noisy little bugger. Aeroflot used them on some routes from EDDL and I used to live close to the airport. Liked the sound though, very oldschool.

Within the next year or 3 there might be two versions of the SSJ 100 one assembled inside Russia with all Russian parts the other one made in the United Arab Emirates using the original western parts. For customers that want they'll need to get them from the Emiratis at Abu Dhabi assembly line. That might be the path forward for Russian planes incorporation with the Western NATO countries. Want MS-21 with PW1400G buy them from the Middle East assembly line unless they are the following countries Cuba Democratic People's Republic of Korea Islamic Republic of Iran Belarus and Russian Federation.

No state buys superjets "voluntarily". The reality: Russia has always built civilian aircraft that have practically no significance on the world market due to their poor quality and characteristics! Without Russia & Belarus, Russian civil aircraft have consistently had a 0.x% share of the world market for the last few decades!

Mixed exhaust means PD-8 will have small bypass ratio, close to 5:1 compared to P&W at 9:1, so from the start it will not be competitive to A220 or Embraeer E-Jet, how ever for the local Russian market that has no alternatives it is enough.
@milaro222
@milaro222 6 күн бұрын
Bypass ratio CF-34 5-6. Bypass ratio and other PD-8 parameters are determined by the parameters of the Sam-146 engine, which the aircraft was originally designed for. Its bypass ratio is lower than CF-34, 4.4, but due to its smaller diameter, it creates less resistance and fuel consumption in cruising mode is comparable. The SJ-100 will be supplied to Iran, and after Iran to the markets of neighboring countries in Asia, the Near East and Africa.

The reality: Russia has always built civilian aircraft that have practically no significance on the world market due to their poor quality and characteristics! Without Russia & Belarus, Russian civil aircraft have consistently had a 0.x% share of the world market for the last few decades! In the case of the Superjet, large quantities of aircraft sold were returned due to quality defects (and consequently high downtimes and costs). In 2020 there were over 50 returned and unsold Superjets!
