Shaq might be a good guy, fun to hang out with, but is he a good parent. His ex complained on TV that he did little to nothing in helping to raise his kids. It was all about him having fun. Even Shaq mentioned that he was rarely around, missed important school events, and Bday parties for his kids.

@@potatojoe3246 shaq missed certain events because as a professional athlete and he was on the road as every professional has to do and yes shaq said that it bothered him. Shaq was and is heavily involved in his children's education and personal lives he made it a point not to allow his child to become entitled they are all very respectful kids

@@jimmymcquade16 Actually he said he missed lots of events. They interviewed one of his daughters who's said she was sad that her father misses her Birthday's alot. As for the Professional athlete excuse, they have a lot more time off then the average citizen. And as for how his kids turned out, you should give the real credit to where it's due, his ex-wife. I'm sure if you asked his kids what kind of father he was noe, they wouldn't tell you the truth in fear they'd get cut out of any potential will. We'll eventually learn the truth, sometime after Shaq's gone. And unfortunately that's probably within the next 15 years given his size and height. Most big men don't tend to live that long.

@@potatojoe3246 we can agree to disagree. No one is taking any credit from his ex wife it takes a village to raise children and they did a great job. You say it's a excuse he missed events being a professional athlete they get more time off then you think he was building his brand in his early career he was also making movies something like 15 in the late 90's and early 2000's He was also making music 3 or 4 albums 1 went platinum Not to mention producing other artists music also a DJ and a cop. He grew up poor and was determined to change that for his family and he achieved that

Shaq is just another man who didn't take his fatherhood responsibility seriously, he let his paycheck and wife handle that. well - majority of poor kids stay poor as adults I know all that stories about a guy that was born in a hood and finish school get education and then becomes millionaire however. - what about his classmates ? or people from his hood ? are they also become Ruch ? no very likely they still live in same place - or in lucky situation living an average life in a avarage home drive average car and average right now is not like in 70 -80 where you could afford a house and car its not fun

I busted my butt to get the one degree I have and pay for living expenses and I was eating a crap ton of ramen. I graduated and I wish I could go back in time and not waste it going to school.
