That's basically the case being an atheist in Brazil, especially on the countryside, where everyone assumes everyone is either Catholic or Protestant. Not uncommon for people(especially boomers, but some young people too) to not want to socialize with you if you're not Christian (and that's not exclusive to being an atheist, if you practice the candomblé or umbanda faith, there's a high chance people will want nothing to do with you as well).

I just want to make sure that you're not using this as an excuse. You should be working towards sanctification, when you're a Christian. It's a difficult path. Nobody ever expects perfection, they do expect effort. Also, there's nothing wrong with people who make an effort to be good people, and I feel like people are envious when they say things like "it's not about being a good person." Those actually have been the most hypocritical and judgemental people, in my experience.

@ⵎⵓⵃⵎⵎⴰⴷ | Mohammed Firstly, Jesus is the "Word" of God, the Word is God and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. Mary and Joseph are a virgin couple, one day God told Mary she will have a son. Jesus' birth into the world was a miracle because Mary was a vergin! No! Mary is not a Godess. Jesus came into the world to die for our sins, and he rose again on the 3rd day. What are you talking about Christians do pray to God in the name of Jesus Christ.

@ⵎⵓⵃⵎⵎⴰⴷ | Mohammed I am sad you view it like that, Christians believe in one God! Jesus said, I and the Father are one, which means they are 1 God but seperate. A man and a woman are seperate, but they are also 1 when they marry, just an example! Leave Islam! Islam has a lot of contradictions, what are you talking about. The Jewish Torah is the same as the Christians Old testament. The Torah has been with the Jews the whole time. Christians has the New Testament also which records the life of Jesus and his followers. The Jews don't believe Jesus is the Measiah btw.

Please think about why so many Japanese people show little interest in Christianity. Since the end of World War II, Japanese people have been introduced almost everything from the United States such as parliamentary democracy, universal suffrage, industrial technologies, cultures, land reform etc, but not Christianity. During immediate period after the Second World War, I hear that a lot of missionaries came to Japan to enlighten Japanese people from the United States. However, even today, Japan has less than one million Christians or less than 1% of 126 million Japanese people, this this ratio is extremely low even by Asian standard. Christianity does not fit in the Japanese society because of Japan`s polytheistic nature. I do not think Japanese people have a grudge against Christianity since a lot of Japanese people love Christmas, and many Japanese women prefer to hold wedding ceremony at Church, but Japanese people cannot accept Christianity as a part of Japanese culture. I have an impression that pastors such as Mr. Kenichi Nakagawa tend to ignore or despise Japanese culture and tradition. Mr. Nakagawa even insists that Japanese eyes are covered by Satan`s hands, and their spiritual level is so low to accept Christianity. Those who despise their own people are also despised by their own people. “Be not yoked unequally with unbelievers;” (2 Corinthians: 6:14) I think that`s why Japanese people refuse to be yoked together with Christians.
@DuzzinsSama
@DuzzinsSama Жыл бұрын
@@MrEjidorie that doesnt really fit since the romans were polythiests as well. I think its obvious there is a great thirst for hope thats found in the gospel. Many people in japan commit suicide because they feel they are without hope in this life. What if they could be told someone loved them so much that they died for them? To save them from not only the pain that others commit but most importantly for the sins in their own life. The japanese soldiers when they committed seppuku it was to protect themselves from having to live a life of shame. The shame of failure, the truth is that everyone fails. We are all in need of someone to save us from our shame and guilt. Jesus Christ the Lord came down to us to save us. The japanese may be hard to evangelize but the truth of the gospel is universal. I think some time Japan's eyes may be opened.
@MrEjidorie
@MrEjidorie Жыл бұрын
@@DuzzinsSama High suicide rate is not unique to Japan but to Christian nations as well. Suicide rate in South Korea is much higher than Japan though about 30% of South Koreans are Christians. Suicide rate in the United States is also high. Crime rate in the United States is extremely high though more than 80% of Americans are Christians. On the other hand, Japan is well-known for low crime rate although less than 1% of Japanese people are Christians. It seems that God in Judeo-Christian term does not delete color lines among American people. God takes a callous attitude toward plight of poor American people. The Gospel is the truth for Christians, but not for 99% of Japanese people. But it does not mean Japanese people are hostile to Christianity and foreign cultures. In fact, Japan is the first Westernized and industrialized country in Asia. Since the end of World War II, Japanese people have been enthusiastically introducing almost everything such as democracy, universal suffrage, market economy, land reform, politico-religious separation etc. mainly from the United States. A lot of Japanese people love Christmas, and they wish to hold wedding ceremony in the church. Japanese people are open to foreign cultures and religions. The reason why Christianity is shunned in the Japanese society lies in exclusive nature of Christianity as manifested by Paul`s word. “Be not yoked unequally with unbelievers;” (2 Corinthians: 6:14) Japanese people put value on syncretism. When Buddhism was introduced to Japan from Kingdom of Paekche in 538, Shinto (Japan`s indigenous religion) was deeply rooted in the Japanese society. In order to avert a religious war between Buddhism and Shinto, the Japanese government adopted a policy of synthesis between Buddhism and Shinto. Since that time on, there has been no religious wars in the Japanese history. If Christians sincerely wish to propagate the Gospel among Japanese people, they should respect Japanese syncretism first. Don`t judge Japanese indigenous religions, then Christians are judged by Japanese people.
@DuzzinsSama
@DuzzinsSama Жыл бұрын
@MrEjidorie The problem is both "Christian" nations are only Christian in name only. If you have read thr gospel or the teachings or Jesus it would be pretty obvious many Christians aren't living out the gospel. I believe if it were lived out properly it would be good. Also, syncretism doesn't work with Christianity because Christianity has objective truth as a basis. The death burial, ressurection, and his diety. It's not possible to be syncretic with it because of his teachings and statements. Shinto and Buddhism both are more subjective in their world views in my opinion. I do understand your point but my main point is I have a heart for the Japanese people. Even if they lived "perfect" lives if there was a hell then the gospel needs to be preached to save people.
@MrEjidorie
@MrEjidorie Жыл бұрын
@@DuzzinsSama Do you mean that there are a lot of pseudo-Christians in the world? Do they pretend to be devout Christians, but do not follow the Providence? It is said that there are about 2,3 billion Christians in the world, but how many of them are authentic Christians. That`s why there are a lot of useless theologian disputes among Christians for centuries. God transcends our consciousness, so we cannot grasp God within our awareness. If we dare to do so, we would be divided into many groups just like the Tower of Babel. Anyway, Christianity cannot coexist with Japanese syncretism, the Gospel could be be propagated among Japanese people. Shinto and Buddhism are subjective, so the same goes for Christianity. Virgin birth, Jesus`s miracles, the resurrection etc. are preposterous for the majority of Japanese people who live in the 21st century. I think a lot of Japanese people are searching a light of hope spiritually, but they do not solve their spiritual problem with Christianity which disrespects the Japanese culture. I lived in Hiroshima for nearly two years, and I paid visits to Atomic Bomb Museum several times. When I was a school child, I was taught that the United States was a democratic and Christian state. I could not understand why democratic nations like the United States dropped A-bomb over civilians in Hiroshima. But I understand why noncombatants in Hiroshima and Nagasaki were massacred by American A-bombs when I read the Bible. I learned later that US President Truman was a devout Presbyterian. From Christian point of view, Japanese were infidels who revered dubious religions such as Shinto and Buddhism or they were Canaanites in the 20th century. They were deserved to be annihilated as Joshua didi against Canaanites including children in compliance with God`s command. I think contermporary Canaanites will never trust God in Judeo-Christian terms.

I couldn’t feel much emotion and I had thoughts of revenge and the other things. But God saved me, he gave me the people in my life and he showed himself to me. Even in my darkest days he was there with me, he never left me. One day while I was in bed I started to pray with my hand to the sky and I felt something holding my hand. At that very moment I knew it was him. I repent of all of the sins I have committed. I am ready to begin a new life with him. There is still time to repent love one another and believe in Christ for he will forgive you❤️ He helped me in hard times he will help you too:)

God does reach his hand out to all equally, but most successful people don't feel they have a need for God. They are drunk on money, power, and pride. Often they have to be lying flat on their backs to finally look towards the Heavens. Just look at the story of the Babylonian King, Nebuchadnezzar in the Book of Daniel. Who lost his power and went mad, living like a beast, only to regain his sanity when he believed on God and stopped his own self-deification.

The universal existence that is the divine represented by the Vak of Prajapathi verse of the Rig Veda which the Hebrews copied to create the Word of God in the Old Testament, is all existence and thus is in all of us irregardless of socio-economic status and identity. The takeaway from here saying that ‘God chooses people from the bottom’ is that the Church and its missionaries target the poor whom they then turn into a fifth column to use as proxies that influences the politics and profit of the state and society. An example of this can be seen in South India, where Chrisitan NGO’s and their missionaries used Lancasters Law and target rural communities the state budget isn’t big enough to cover in order to gain influence by tokenizing conversion rates through the use of financial incentives in the form of millions of dollars.

@@NarasimhaDiyasena Hinduism and Christianity are very, very different. Christianity is God reaching down to man, offering a free gift of salvation out of a ruined world, if we only accept it. In the practices of Hinduism, man is reaching up to various Gods and trying to become little Gods themselves. When you look at the Caste system, which prevents the impoverished from ever getting out of poverty, especially those in extreme cases where they are deemed an "untouchable" (even into the next life), you don't need to ponder very hard about why the God of the Bible is more attractive to them, or why missionaries try to reach them. I challenge you to read the book God of the Untouchables. Christians should not be involving themselves in the Earthly matters of politics, exploiting others, or trying to make a profit. You won't find any of that as a commandment in the Bible. We are asked to share the gospel to get people off of the sinking ship that is the world, not conform the world to ourselves through law. Satan loves to slither into the church. Don't blame the evil of man on the Bible. Also, God does not choose people exclusively from the bottom. The apostle Paul was a "Pharisee of Pharisees" a well respected religious leader who persecuted the early followers of Jesus before becoming a follower himself. The prophet Daniel was of Nobel birth. Moses was raised in the Egyptian royal court by Pharaoh's daughter. The Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar dropped his self-deification and became a follower of God. God reaches out to all equally, but many do not see their need of Him.

Parts will be happy. Parts will be sad. It might be incredibly emotional overall, because...that's life. Well the explanation (the "because") wasn't that a god was involved, right? The explanation is that _every life is like that._ So we shouldn't consider testimonies like this (like the one we're commenting on) to be "strong" at all. Well do Harry Potter books prove Harry Potter? If not, then you're saying books aren't magically true; sometimes they contain falsehoods. So then we can't just accept the Bible as truth, we have to confirm its claims, and (just like Harry Potter) _we can't!_ We don't have evidence of gods.

I have always loved Japan and I want people to know that they can put their hope in something that’s unshakable. We all need hope and when you put it in the things of this world you will always be disappointed and there’s a reason for that. Because the tomb was empty we have to opportunity to be free from out burdens and don’t have to feel the shame and self hatred that Satan tries to make you fall into.

If you really love Japan, please, don't bring in any more of the abrahamic religions. You must undersand that how you see the world is NOT the way most Japanese see it. If you change the way they see it, they will lose some of the core elements of being Japanese. And enough of the Japanese lose them, then Japan may not be the country and culture you claim to love. Please, drop that arrogance that christians have, you know, the hubris that tells you that you know better. I am going in knowing Japanese culture and using examples that they understand and empathize with. And it’s not about me. I don’t feel that I know better than anyone else, I just chose to receive God’s grace so I don’t have to be in bondage anymore. And I want as many people as possible to be able to live in that freedom. To know that there future is secure. That they are loved. I think this is a message we all need to hear. Deep down we all know that the things the world has to offer, the things we are striving for, don’t satisfy us. I know many Japanese Christians where I live and they are still very much Japanese and they’re awesome. The fact of the matter is that the tomb was empty so whether or not people want to accept it, it’s all true. And if God is able to change even a few people’s eternity, than I’m in. @@harizu_5182 Jesus could do nothing apart from the Father. He did not act on His own initiative. He limited Himself to the Father’s will. Some ask why Jesus could do nothing of Himself: “Is not Jesus God? How can God limit Himself?” We must distinguish between the deity and humanity of Christ. Jesus made this statement from the viewpoint of His humanity. When the Son stepped foot in a human body, He set aside the voluntary use of His incommunicable attributes as God. He limited His divine attributes so that He could function truly as a human being. The Son did the Father’s will as a genuine man. Jesus was unique in that He was truly human but also undiminished deity simultaneously. We cannot judge the deity of Christ by His humanity. The Father and Son’s relationship was so united that Jesus did not act by Himself. He never did anything on His own authority. This is no argument against the deity of Christ, for Christ never violated consistency with the Father in His humanity.

This is such an interesting topic for me! Listening to her, I think this is how Christians are supposed to be, even though it's more widespread in my country I sometimes feel alone too so I think it's very interesting how Christians in places where they're a super minority live their faith. Thanks for bringing these topics!

Sometimes you'd think faith seems stronger when the religion is a minority, and especially disliked by suroundings. Not saying that Christians who live in a country with many Christians are worse; of course there are many great people there too. But I think it's places with negative view of Christians, where the ones who stay Christians are those with the strongest faith (who are less swayed by public opinion, and don't stay just out of convenience as in some other places). Of course this could also apply to other beliefs.

Living in Faith, and living in love are two different things, People can rarely fake faith, you are either cold or hot. A lukewarm faith would be those of agnosticism, and odds are, they don't go to church often. Many Christians in the west live in faith, no doubt they have strong conviction, but living in love is a different animal altogether. As stated in Corinthians, Faith without Love is nothingness, its useless. It is part of human nature to have faith, faith in our actions, faith in our words, faith in others, faith in the world, and faith in the unknown. Living your faith is not a rigid structure with a definite nature. People are flawed by nature regardless of status, and humans live in hypocrisy. If you are referring to the cliche of westerners going to church on sunday night and getting drunk sunday night and then beat their wife and kids kind of cliche. He is simply a flawed human living in sin. Tons of real believers live in sin. I live in sin, we were born in filth. from the famous verse of Christ in Matthews. You hypocrite! First, remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother's eye. Or he who is without sin shall cast upon the first stone. That is why it is in God's hands to cast judgement upon the weak hearted. Should the man stop sinning and stop the violence and degradation? Yes. But his sins do not make him utterly devoid of his faith. Psalm 37:23-24 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand. The path of Christianity is not to train into a perfected state. Christianity is unlike buddhism in many ways and other dogmas. Salvation comes from the Proactive effort to continually work on yourself, You know you will fail, God knows you will fail him, Christ knows you will fall short. It is the good heart of action and good intentions, the truly hard-driven effort and care. Christ does not want us to obsessively seek perfection, for perfection is not even in human nature, by all accounts, only God is perfect. God made us as a test. A battle. It is the constant balance between good and evil, that is our story. The objective itself is the goal, not the end results. Psalm 37:23-24 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand. TL:DR Living in Faith isn't living in perfection.

In my experience, Christians here are so much more genuine and firm about their Christian beliefs than they are in America, because of the way Japanese view us. Because you never want to stick out in Japan, and being Christian definitely makes you stand out, if you're willing to stand by your convictions, it means you really mean it. It's different for me. Since I'm a 6'1" 200lb white guy, I stick out anyway, it doesn't matter if I add the Christian label. But for someone who is Japanese, there is so much pressure on them. It's very sad, and I have so much respect for those that stand by Christ here.

@@shoezomaku it’s not so much that us Christians (generally) in America are not strong in our faith because we aren’t hated the same as other countries. I’m a generation z Christian. In my school every who isn’t a Christian hates us, and although they believe Islam and Christianity worships the same God (which isn’t true at all) they hate Christianity more. I haven’t openly yelled to people in my class that I’m a Christian but I carry myself in a way that makes people think (quote from a girl) “you’re a really good girl” because they noticed I’ve never cussed, said anything really sexual, or engage in certain things. I tend to keep my mouth shut and pray for my generation because of the things that are pulling them farther and farther from knowing God. I once had depression. And came to Christ. After I witnessed to many people, people who are atheist on debate channels, people who are in the occult or witchcraft, a few satanists. And whew, I wasn’t giving up. I debated and reasoned with one atheist for 2 hours but they just mocked me and was called cuss words for being a Christian. My sister is now an atheist, who is into a new age practice and after I became a Christian she physically fought me just because I was whispering my Bible and threatened to rip it up. It’s kind of annoying when people think that we have no trials to face when we’re in America. I’m tired of hearing that “this is a Christian nation” when everywhere I turn I only see people that hate me for what I believe, have all sorts of misconceptions and cuss words to hurl at me, and believe I’m “dangerous” because of it. I pray for all the people under persecution in other countries but I can promise my faith is strong, there are just too many lukewarms who aren’t saved and most churches don’t even use the Bible anymore or advocate for its churchgoers to read it. In America most churches are like social clubs. When you meet a real born again Christian, you will know they really believe what they believe.

Unequally yoked relationships are extremely hard to deal with. My dad(technically step-dad) was not a believer until my mom and him got married, 7 years later he is one of the strongest believers I know and almost always the first words out of his mouth are "remember to pray about it" or "we just have to remember to lean on God". He is on fire for the Lord and It was such a beautiful and inspiring thing to watch him grow in his faith. I've been christian all my life, but watching him become a believer after he was taught all his life that it was a fairy tale, it is just something so amazing to see. Now he is working hard to lead our family spiritually as the head of our household, and it's just breathtaking what the Lord can do in people's lives. However, my parents had a lot of struggles in the beginning of their marriage due to being unequally yoked

I am glad you like the moral teaching. But there is something that we need to put some thought in it. Other than the moral teachings, Jesus also claimed to be God the Son in human form. There are only three possibilities regarding this situation: 1. Jesus is a liar claiming to be God. 2. Jesus is a mad man claiming to be God. 3. Jesus really is God the Son as he claimed. If Jesus is a liar, there is no point for anyone to trust anything he taught. If Jesus is a mad man, there is also no point for anyone to trust anything he taught. However, if Jesus is really God the Son as he claimed, which I am persuaded he is God the Son as He literally resurrected after his crucifixion, then we can trust all the teaching God Himself taught. Moreover, Jesus also taught that no one can go to heaven by their own good works. Instead, Jesus claimed that, we can only go to heaven by believing in him alone. The Bible said that we need to believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ to be saved. The gospel of Jesus Christ is: Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins according to the scriptures, and was buried, and he rose again in the third day according to the scriptures. If you truly believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ, then you are saved. It has nothing to do with your own works, not about going to church, not about reading the Bible, not about being baptized, not about quit sinning. It's all about believing in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Salvation is a free gift. This free gift is heaven, is eternal life. Why not believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ today to receive this free gift?

@@screege5647 We cannot do anything including stop sinning to help us get God's grace. If we do so, then grace is not grace and works are not works. We can only do good works after we are saved. Once we believed in the gospel of Jesus Christ, we are sealed with the Holy Spirit, which help us, guide us, change us to do good works, for we are His workmanship. 6And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.(Romans 11) 8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.(Ephesians 2) Unfortunately, we are still inside our sinful bodies, which we are still capable of sinning, so we still grief the Holy Spirit day and night. But we should follow the lead of the Holy Spirit to not to sin. However, the Lord does not see us as sinning in our souls anymore, because He has circumcised us spiritually: 30And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. (Ephesians 2) 11In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;(Colossians 2) We still have the fleshly nature at the moment. At the rapture of the church, our body will be turned into incorruptible holy body just like Jesus, that time onwards, we will not ever sin again. Here is a great teaching on repentance: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ZtVkmdWYr5nOmWw.html&ab_channel=REALBibleBelievers

@@s981318 1John 5:18 "We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.". Basically what I'm saying is don't take God's grace for granted. You can't just trust in Jesus and then continue living a life for sin and your desires of the world. Again we're not sinless and are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. But a true believer will not make practice of living for sin, for example a true believer would not practice homosexuality or watching pornography. A true believer would go to God for a truthful repentance from those sinful ways.
