Sega are forgetting that Silver was never the problem with Sonic '06. The problem was the glitches and quality, which never affects characters.

His design, powers, character, THEME SONG, I really love everything about this white hedgehog. Dreams of an Absolution is also one of my favorite Sonic OSTs to ever come out, right up there next to Ice Cap Zone. It would have made perfect sense if Silver were made as a bonus character in Sonic x Shadow Generations instead of Shadow himself because it revolves around timeline and traveling gap.

Silver the hedgehog was the reason I came back to the sonic series after the GameCube line of games. the games don’t feel the same without being to play as silver

0:38 About that mistake, I had to work on a redesign for him which took me months. I thought that he needed to do what hedgehogs normally do (especially spinball). I had to work on his shoes, face and spines. Man, it was no easy work but it's all use.

I feel Silver could work great in a Sonic Unleashed rerelease where he has a side campaign that involves him going into the past to witness how the ancients aided light gaia with creating the gaia temples, since it was shown Frontiers the chaos emeralds came from the ancients. I really miss SIlver. I wish he somehow returned majorly in some more 3D action Sonic games a lot sooner instead of sometime in the future. Despite my wish and how long it has been, I still do not believe he will not return in a very, very new and surprising 3D game. I am never ever giving up on him. He was some character in my opinion. Some Silver fans and I will wait sometime longer and afterwards will see him majorly again, I know it.

silver is definitely a character who gets a lot of hate (personally I think people hate him just for the fact that his debut game was sonic 06). I personally do think he has a lot of potential as a character and the Archie and IDW comics have shown that silver can be a well written character to adapt. it’s a shame that sega hasn’t really done alot with him other than a few guest appearances in a couple of sonic games. he’s yet to have any cartoon roles and I kinda doubt we’ll see him in the movies anytime soon then again though I could be wrong

If we ever get Sonic Adventure 3 it would actually be epic to have a full story for Sonic Shadow and Silver. The Adventure games with the chao gardens are still the best.

I dont feel like Sega has anything personal against Silver. Everybody has been shafted in recent years. It's only lately they've been increasing their use. I do think that Shadow is a safer bet to test the waters of other characters to have the limelight, so I'm hoping they are gradually increasing other characters prominence Even so, as my favorite character in the series, I really hope they bring him back. I remember reading that Silver is actually very popular internally at Sonic Team, but haven't been able to use it (presumably because everything after 06 focused on Sonic and Sonic only)

As a shadow fan, I always wanted more shadow games and him to be more involved in Sonic games like tails and knuckles. I also like knuckles and Sonic second and want a knuckles game too but shadow will always be my favorite but saying all this, I would still love to see more of silver and even a game all about silver too. While I highly doubt Silver will get a game (sadly), I think it could be possible he’ll get a DLC of sorts in a future sonic game. The game I think is likely for this to happen is sonic X Shadow generations because that game gave silver atleast some sort of love when he got a boss fight and appeared in a few cutscenes.

Honestly i feel like in order for silver to even make sense in the current continuity is to change his backstory. Rn they say that he keeps coming back in time cuz his timeline keeps getting messed up but that makes 0 sense cuz silver got sent back in time by mephilis at the start. Silver is a complete Trunks copy down to the T. Hair, styles, both come from future to save their timeline, villains from his time that look like heroes from present, and I was there for it. Only thing is, instead of a sharp sword he got a sharp mind. With the telekinesis and whole. Also don't forget about his super sayian mode

I agree, it would be so cool to see Silver get another chance. There are aspects of his character that I really like, such as his naive and hopeful personality. It contrasts well with Sonic's snark and Shadow's aloofness. Silver is just a desparate kid that grew up in an apocalyptic future, so I don't fault him for believing Mephiles easily. He saw a chance to finally get out of that hellhole and he took it. Heck, there are no people in sight in Crisis City, so Silver was probably delighted to even see another person. Unfortunately, the likelihood of him having a central role again is very low. Because of his rocky start in 06, Silver remains a disliked character in the eyes of most people outside the Sonic fanbase (and some people within the fanbase, but more Sonic fans like Silver nowadays). The idea is that since 06 was bad, and Silver debuted in 06, that means everything about Silver must be bad too. The reason Sega doesn't push Silver out into the spotlight is because he's just not as marketable as Sonic or Shadow. But I can't really fault them for it, because if they did release a trailer for something like a Silver spinoff game, they'd probably get a lot of criticism.

When I first saw Silver in Sonic 06, I was curious to who the new Hedgehog was. When I looked up his story on KZfaq, I fell in love with Silver. I loved his powers, his backstory, everything. He's become my favorite Hedgehog. I was disappointed when Sega decided to just shove him into the background rather then becoming one of the main characters. There's so much they could do with Silver. I wish they would do it. I hope they do someday.

Silver deserves his own game and story

Last summer Silver became my third favorite character from the Sonic franchise beside Sonic and Shadow, and 1 of the main reasons why I want to download P-06 when Chaos X has the final product available is so that I can play as that adorable telepathic hedgehog in a Sonic game that isn't either a spin-off game or a mobile one. I'm sick of the fact that those are the only kinds of Sonic games that he's currently a playable character in. I really hope that Paramount will make a Sonic 4 movie that can have the elements of 06 that were good ones adapted into it while changing the unwanted parts to be better or not adapting those parts in at all. If he gets put into the SCU (Sonic Cinematic Universe) then it would be more easy for Sega to see how much of a loved character Silver is from theater audience reactions, and learn that they should treat him better in future mainline Sonic games instead of continuing to leave him out of almost every single one of them! That studio might do it because it is easy to see that there is more hyper-realistic fanmade movie images of Silver online than any of the other characters who haven't been put into the already released Sonic movies. So it can be kind of easy for Paramount to see that he's the character who the fans want to see on the big screen next after Shadow gets the spotlight in the third Sonic movie.

To be fair Sliver was not the only character to not be playable. It was like that with Rouge, Vector, and other characters until Sonic Superstar, frontiers, and Dream Team

I think they are slowly making characters playable again, but definitely don’t know if they will every give any character a big spotlight role because of backlash from Shadow The Hedgehog and Sonic 06. After Tears of the Kingdom, I feel like a similar approach to physics would make Silver feel so unique and fun to play with the ability to move around objects freely, but I also fear that SEGA doesn't have the time or dedication to working on a physics based game like that.

Frontiers would've been a great opportunity to make Silver playable again. He could take inspiration from Tears of the Kingdom by using his psychokinesis to solve puzzles.

He is my legit favorite Sonic character right alongside Sonic himself, he’s so much of a cool yet funny character and his personality and development in 06 is amazing to me (even if I acknowledge shadows story is better overall) plus his powers are just so cool! Having the ability to levitate and attack foes by bashing others or even projectiles into an enemy is so cool! I just think they need a new idea on how to make it work and he could come back and be great once more.

The way I see it they need to do one of two things possibly both they need to either give silver his own game set in the future or involving time travel and make it play possibly like a dragon ball game in terms of flying and ranged attacks. Or they need to make him the focus in general after the streak of shadow content is done also side notes silver showed up in sonic rivals before sonic 06 came out and the sonic boom game is definitely worse than 06 but the show was great also I hate the fact that in forces they made it seem like shadow and silver were way weaker than sonic even though sonic has never actually beaten silver he was always saved in 06 by Amy and shadow and honestly maybe that’s part of why they don’t use silver because they have canonically proven that he’s more powerful than sonic and therefore don’t want to have a character that can do a better job at being a hero than sonic and yes shadows more powerful than sonic too but sonic can actually win against shadow

For context I beat one of the rush titles before my first time playing 06. So blaze dying made me quite upset even if I had no clue why she was in the future of Sonic’s world.

Funny enough as a kid i didnt run into any of the game breaking bugs and genuinely enjoyed the game although never beating it. (Think i beat silver and sonics story). Another reason could be that Silver doesn't have a strong back story like Shadow has with Maria and Black Doom. Besides, the events of Sonic 06 practically didn't happen at all and the Silver we are seeing today is from Sonic Rivals which also didn't have that huge backstory for Silver. So, I think Sega doesn't know what to do with Silver's character anymore and just because of his fanbase, he appeared in Sonic Forces as a side character and there are many people who hardly knows about Silver. So, Sega is following with what majority of audiences want.

Silver had a small come back after sonic generations but his voice actor had allegations on him so sega stop using him after TSR this and his lack of mainstream popularity I believe was his final nail in the coffin.
