Drive past any wind farm, from new to older, there are always turbines not turning and no maintenance vehicles in sight. Wind is high maintenance and short lifespan.

This is long overdue. I didn't know it was as bad as a 1000:1 labor ratio. That [put in terms of manhours per MW-hr produced] is absolutely frightening. Who can afford that?

Why Magnetic Energy Is Clean, Cheap and Nobody Mentions It? Take a turbine/motor and attach 3 metal legs to the shaft that spins. At the end of the legs are steel balls. You place powerful magnets in place so the balls spin and create energy. That’s it. Hope people see this. Thanks.

Art is a very good oil and gas man. Per his linked in page, he’s been in that business for 35 years. You’ll never hear him say anything good about renewables. No big surprise there.
@chrisconklin2981
@chrisconklin2981 Ай бұрын
I would like to remind these gentlemen the the reason for all of these renewable efforts is because of global warming and ultimately the declining availability of fossil fuels. As to intermittency, this is a system issue. As a whole there is plenty of renewable energy available. It is the storage and distribution that needs to be developed.

I majored in energy and studied every energy source from raw material to end of life. They all have their pros and cons. Solar and wind are the two worst energy sources to power a grid. They are good, but not great for off grid power solutions.

The reality of this regarding Solar and Wind Turbines is they Fail considerably with Powerful more Intense Storm events So a lot of these Green energy sustainability projects are ending up bringing even more Waste into our dumps There are a few which are trying to recycle some of this Waste but we need to Simplify our production so we can actually Survive 🕊🌏🙏🏼

9:53 If you do support consumers with subsidies you have to impose rationing. The price mechanism and rationing are the only ways to control consumption in a crisis like this.

In the early 20th century the horse and buggy industry pushed back hard against the petrol automobile. It's no surprise that the same thing is happening with energy generation today. First it'll be people too far away to hook up to existing infrastructure(can cost tens of thousands of dollars in some places) and with time it will work its way towards cities where centralized distribution will still make sense.

@jameskeefe1761

Lets be realistic here. If we are going to really reduce the amount of fossil fuels, EVs, wind turbines and solar wont maintain the kind of energy use pattern a common American has. It will take a big change especially mostly people living in communities designed where they can walk and bike most places they need to go and a lot more public transit and rail. The fact is, people already do this and people move from America to other countries just to live that way and they end up healthier because of the exercise anyway and save a ton of money by not having to commute 20 miles every day and they end up with a stronger sense of community and overall more happy without the cold and impersonal car culture. Regardless of what you think about the science behind climate change, oil, natural gas will become such a scarce thing not so far from now it won't be able to maintain this car culture model we have in the US

If you we domestic solar + battery, we're less reliant on hydrocarbons. It doesn't have to be either/or. Why put all your eggs in one basket. We absolutely need nuclear, spread the risk.
@bannerlad01

Straw man argument- solar is not being deployed as a replacement. It vastly reduces the need for gas burn thereby increasing the system efficiency. Solar LCOE is much cheaper than CCGT and is a natural inflation hedge because it has no ongoing cost what so ever. Same with wind. This guy is may be a whiz on fossil makets but he is pretty limited knowledge on power systems and renewable energy. And that’s fine but the last time you had him on he had a rant about people staying in their lane on energy, I believe he said “know of what you speak”
@Rawdiswar

Can't use solar as baseload electricity, nor can you use wind. Also, solar and wind require spinning reserve back up and therefore do not decrease the need for gas but rather increase it.

@LowerDerek
@LowerDerek Жыл бұрын
The desire to make money and better your life what drives productivity. No one is going to do anything unless their in something in it for them. Thats why socialism never has worked. You start taking from productive people and giving it to unproductive people and the people who actually do the work stop caring. And who could blame them? Wy dont you go out and volunteer your life so other people can be comfortable and you can labor all day?😊

@@naps3386 both women and children are perfectly capable of working at something. Plenty of things needed to be done out there. Maybe if we got rid of a bunch of labor laws they could get some work helping someone produce something of value and then maybe in time save enough money and do it for themselves.
