I think a lot of people are thrown off by what seems like movement of the eyes that appear functional. Such as looking towards someone who is speaking or turning one's head and looking towards a loud noise. Some forget that those are reflexes.

Loud music playing while you are talking was pretty distracting, even if it was just for the first 4-5 seconds of the video. At the end of the video it only barely overlapped the end of your last sentence, but it still seemed a little bit odd to have the music start playing just a few seconds before it switched to the end screen. Not necessarily bad or anything, but a little distracting and something that could maybe be worked out a little better :-) Other than that, great video as always!
@rilee5275
@rilee5275 7 жыл бұрын
Molly Burke I agree with Emily. You could introduce your channel with a logo or image prior to showing the actual video. This way, you could play music for a few seconds without it affecting the sound quality. I am blind too. So, you may have shown a logo that I could not see. If so, my advice would be to show the logo a little longer. Overall, the audio sounds really great! Did you get a new microphone?
@rilee5275
@rilee5275 7 жыл бұрын
Molly Burke I think a different instrumental piece would be best for the intro. The song that is currently in use doesn't seem to introduce your own conversational piece well, which is important considering that is usually the subject of each video you release on your KZfaq channel. It shouldn't necessarily be the end of a song, but maybe the end of a phrase in which a diminuendo or fermata is present. With that said, I do think the mood of the current song being used is perfect! It is calm yet uplifting, just like the content in most of your KZfaq videos. This is just some constructive criticism from a musician and perfectionist 😂

I'm not completely sure, but I don't think it does. If you're wondering why I feel so sure about it, it's because my grandma is blind and she said that she doesn't get headaches or anything from that. (Edit: but you know, that's only my grandma. For all I know it could depend on the person.)

TY! It was driving me bonkers. No mention was made of it, until your post. So I naturally thought I had an issue with my device. I'm more sensitive from a neurological condition, and this sound was close to the irritant fingernails on chalkboard scrape. Definitely an antiASMR for me. I found this ironic, as Molly has a comment about audio quality.

I found you through the video you did with Tommy and I'm glad I found you! I have a lot of eye pain and headaches because my eyes get tired really fast... I was told that now that I'm grown out my eye vision should be relatively stable (by the way I'm nearsighted, something a lot of people have, not a big deal) but it got down 20℅ in the last year. At first I was a bit scared because with every bit of vision that got blurred I felt a bit more insecure in what I'm doing and I lost it so fast and to top that I have this (at the beginning really annoying) black dot getting in my way of seeing... So I did go to see my eye doctor. She told me my eyes are okay except for the fact that I have an corneal coverture... but her face didn't say so, I should just come in half a year to let her check them again... (now that I think about it that dot shouldn't be there anymore right now as to what she told me..) I now have 60% of my vision left and with my glasses I see 105% (however it is possible to see more than a hundred.. I still don't get it) and if I lose as much vision every year.. well that's what I'm scared of. Or more like I *was* scared. Molly you helped me not being scared. That's the whole point of posting this incredible long sensless comment. I'm really thankful for every video you upload, because now I don't think about it anymore. I still wish to keep my vision but if I ever loose more of it I know that I can manage to keep on living a life full of joys... and so on... I'm not really good with words but I want to thank you a lot! If I had to say it in a weird way you are kind of my spirit animal. My English is probably really crappy but I give you my best wishes from germany. And while I'm at it I wish you a wonderful Christmastime !

Is the level of light-shadow perception you have, similar to when a sighted person closes their eyes? When I close my eyes in a normally lit room, and I wave my hand in front of my face, I see the movement, but not the shape. If a bright light would be flashed in my face with my eyes closed, then that'd brighten things up a lot, but I still can't see the same as to when I open my eyes.

Like you said Molly some with more vision you may look like they actually have less then, for instance i have several condition such as Nystagmus(involuntary movement of the eyes side to side and up and down), Strabismus ( lazy eye but it usually only acts up when i am tired), Photophobia (attraction of the eye toward a light source) and my main condition and the most visible Aniridia ( complete lack of the iris or coloured part of the eye). Do to the Aniridia I keep my eyes open but only a small amount to reduce the amount of light going into my eyes. and i wear orange coloured glasses but only outside or in very bright rooms ( they help to reduce the light going into my eyes). But what i am trying to get at is that if someone were to look at my eyes compared to yours they would think i was the blind one even though I have 20/200.

Milessa Well when someone loses control over a certain body part, they sometimes lose feeling or any sort of movement from that area. For example, some people can people in wheelchairs can feel their legs, some can't. So since blindness is technically "lack of control to use the eye" it's a pretty reasonable question if you didn't know to what degree her loss of control is.

I really like this video. Because of the way I see, I'm trying to teach myself to get by with my eyes closed and it's starting to feel more natural. I'm 20/30 with glasses (so not visually impaired or anything) but I'm severely light sensitive. We're talking sunglasses whenever outside and at night because headlights are so painful, phone has to be at the lowest light setting, or it's pain central. My vision is really only functional indoors and on cloudy days. It's caused a lot of lifestyle changes over the last six months. I don't drive, never have, but if I wanted to I couldn't drive at night or on most days because the light sensitivity is so bad. I can't walk outside much because bright light is blinding for me and if I'm out I need to rely on someone else to help me get through a parking lot or across the street. I can't wear my glasses a lot of the time because I have to wear super dark sunglasses. But I'm beginning to adapt to keeping my eyes closed while in someone's car or sitting outside and it's slowly becoming more natural for me, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. But this video speaks to me and I really liked watching it.

I have a question. It’s not about your eyes, but you personally. The amount of confidence and self love that beams from your face is incredible to me. How do you get to that point? How can you become truly happy with yourself? Im 30 years old and I’ve never been able to figure it out. It just seems like there’s always something about me that I hate when I look in the mirror or just when I think about it ya know? Idk. It’s a weird question. I know. But seeing how you light up and are just so comfortable talking about yourself to millions of strangers just caught my attention. I’m not sure how I came across this video, but I’m glad I did. 🥰

In looking at your eyes I see a great deal of nystagmus (involuntary eye movement). A certain amount of nystagmus is normal in individuals with sight and I imagine in those who have had sight and lost in over time. However, is it normal in for someone who is blind (either from birth or acquired blindness) to have such pronounced nystagmus?

at 2:35 she tells that her eyes look not different that 'normal' eyes, besides the fact that they're 'shaking', which is caused by a different disease.

twinkygirlie Her eyes aren't shaking, its an exaggerated version of the movement everyone has. I was just curious if it was a result of the specific cause of her blindness or the result of no visual cues to hold her eyes in one position.

Okay, but seriously, the close up of your eyes, were beautiful. And it also helped to show what the shaking of your eyes looks like, because in some of your videos, depending on how far away from the camera, you can't really see how they shaking or even that they do at times.

This was pretty neat and interesting to listen to. thank you for sharing. I know that I have poor eyesight but much of it is helped with some pretty thick glasses. When I take off my glasses, I can see very little, meaning (to me) that everything is blurry and colors are mixed and I can't exactly tell you what a human looks like from anything more than about 10 feet away. I do feel that, I very well could lose my eyesight in the coming years if technology isn't able to fix it. though I am okay with losing it, i'm also afraid of some of the challenges that go with it. but anyways. thank you for sharing your video. I'm gonna go watch more and you may very well have earned yourself, another subscriber. take care. thanks

Your eyes seem to do a kind of circular motion. I went to school with a girl who's eyes would shake because of this disease she had (Not sure if it's the same thing you have or something else), and hers did a side to side motion.

How do blind people sign contracts or legally binding documents? I mean even if they can write, because they have learned it before, can they be responsible for their signature if they cannot read the document? Or do they need a confirmation by a lawyer or so?

Idk if this will answer your question, but she has a little credit card-like piece that a person who can see will place on the line and she will be able to sign it like a person with vision.
