Their press resistant, accomplished passer midfield player is basically their football culture at this point. It doesn’t seem to matter who they play in midfield, he is guaranteed to be a great passer and comfortable on ball

I got excited about the Spanish team when they tied Brazil 3-3. I felt they were intimidated by Brazil even during the Golden generation when I remember having a sense of relief when Netherlands be Brazil in the semi finals and 2013 right after the European championship Brazil beat them 4-0… this year, I thought they played fearless against Brazil and looked athletic against Brazil as well and that gave me confidence that they could win this tournament…

Spain is what Portugal try to be. The difference is that spains playeres actually care about the national team. most portuguese players aside from Ronaldo and Pepe don't seem to give a shit.
